I love all of the songs on this CD; they really bang. If you don't have it, buy it now! Fav tracks:#2,3,4,6,7,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,17,18,19,20,21. If you like hip- hop, buy this CD. Even though it's edited it's great and probably just as enjoyable!

a very interesting and fresh remix approach to two classic cuts from the "straight outta compton" album.

aphrodite has been involved in quite a number of remix and dj-set projects recently, and the "niggaz wit attitudes" revival craze might have been one of the reasons to issue this maxi-single.

not unlike ja?-z, ice cube's vocals mingle well with the breakbeat rhythm and the result is a decent reinterpretation of a dope track.

however, if you're not a fan of breakbeat -- or "drum & bass", as the average raver calls it nowadays -- refrain from purchasing this single. for those who're into crossing boundaries and expanding their musical horizons, on the other hand this cd is well worth a listen.

I dont know about the other reviewer on this cd.I bought the album and it is weak.sounds like someone got ahold of a drum machine and a radio shack mixer and had a weekend to do this mix.It does not flow well thebeats are too fast.You will be disapointed with this.. Go for the best ofalbum or the new Ice Cube album that is Great!

It is interesting to see why N.W.A brought out this single. I'm glad they did cause it is a good remix of Gangsta Gangsta of the Straight outta Compton album. If you are really into the old N.W.A stuff then it is wortha listen but it is not as good as they were. ... Read more

Part of an indespensible history series
Part 2 of an excellent overview of the origins and history of rap music. This volume has the earliest true rap hits, including 2 classics by Kurtis Blow himself and some tracks that have been unjustly forgotten. Great sound and terrific "insider" liner notes by Blow that put these tracks in their historical context.

From the Innocent Age of Rap
If you were a teenager at the time, you'll love this. These fun, funky tunes will remind (or educate, if you weren't there) you of the days when kids eagerly listened to the radio to await the newest rap records (since they were rare at the time) and you could play these around your parents without shame. The Treacherous 3's "Feel The heartbeat," Jazzy 5's "Jazzy Sensation," Funky 4+1 More's "Rappin and Rocking the House" (unfortunately, this is not the complete 16 min version), "Funk You Up" and "Monster Jam" by the Sequence (featuring Angie Stone),etc. will all make you feel good to be alive-before NWA and those gangster idiots who followed destroyed rap music!

STRAIGHT GARBAGE
This album was released on a whole new tip for UTFO."Bag It and Bone It" highlights UTFO's desperation to stay relevant in a changing hip hop scene.When you compare "Roxanne Roxanne" to some of these garbage tracks like "Bonin' Grab a Ho" you don't know whether to laugh or cry.UTFO did not need to go out like this. "Doin It' wasn't a bad album; it should have been their last. The Doctor Ice solo album "Mic Stalker" was hardly a step above "Bag it and Bone It". "Mic stalker" simply didn't sound as desperate an attempt to fit into a scene once pioneered by UTFO. At least Doc Ice didn't partake in "Bag It and Bone It" He was busy with Full Force living in past success.This album was released at a time of foul mouthed rap, gangster rap or afrocentric rap. You picked one of the three and ran with it I guess. The hip hop nation must shed a tear for fallen comrades.

A reissue is a MUST--bottom line!!
I just wanted to agree with what you people have already written. I was in my mid-teens when this album was originally released. There's a handful (or two) of rap albums that are GENUINELY classic material. Man is this ever one of them! A great album. I'll be honest, I love much of the rap music that consists of the violent themes. It's nothing more than a musical movie to me. However, with that being said, this is the type of rap album that takes you back to "the good ole' days." I used to have this album on vinyl & cd. Now I have neither. I sold the vinyl about 5 years ago, and I lost the cd soon after--it was accidentally left on an airplane!! I'm still depressed over that one!! Anyway, what in THE WORLD is taking so long to get this reissued--it needs to be digitally remastered on CD, or SACD, as soon as possible. GREAT ALBUM!!

Best Ever!!!!
In my opinion, this is the best hip hop album ever. He provides clean lyrics mingled with fantasy, style, and blackness.

I Can't Express It Any Plainer, He Is The Entertainer!!!
This is one of the few albums that deserves to be reissued. It was one of my first albums. In my opinion the three best songs on the album are cinderfella dana dane, delancy street, and love at first sight,and nightmares, that makes four. I forgot how good rap sounds. This Album helps to remember.

A great Collection. 4.5 stars needs improvement
This cd is a promising collection of some of Queen Latifah's Greatest hits. My only problem is that it is censored. "U.N.I.T.Y." is nothing without the use of the word "B*)&h". It's hard to get back in the game after you haven't played for a while, especially when you're a legend like Big Daddy Kane, with hip-hop classics under your belt like "The Symphony," "Smooth Operator," and "Warm It Up, Kane"--not to mention the historic high-top fade and way with the ladies. Unfortunately, Kane's latest effort does little to reassert the man who once ruled the world of rap with his spitfire delivery, fire, edge, and panache. Kane seems scattered on this album, caught in between staying true to his old-school roots and attempting to keep up with the Joneses. The R&B-inspired "Change This Game Around" and "La La Land" (which sounds like a bad rip-off of Blackstreet's "No Diggity") just don't work. The best example of what Kane can do is a track called "Terra in Ya Era," on which the mellow, stripped-down production showcases the force of his flow, while the beats keep your head noddin'. But Veteranz Day as a whole has mediocre production, and Kane's vocal delivery is lackluster, a bittersweet reminder of what once was. Don't call it a comeback. --Andrea Duncan ... Read more

What can i say... this is classic Kane... the one and only Dark Gable delivers... Easy Moe Bee (of Notorious B.I.G. fame) laces BDK with hot production on various cuts from the album... definitely pick this up if you're a Kane fan...

Still Kane
If you ever listened to Big Daddys albums, then this one is no different. He has an uncanny flow and wonderful lyrical talents, one of the best of all time, no doubt. Its very easy to get into most of the tracks because of the rhyme skills. Kane can make even a song with a whack beat sound good because of his uniqueness.

It is'nt bad!
I found this album at a used cd store and I bought it because my barber love Kane. This album is giving props and shout outs to everyone. It is alright if you were born before 1977 and remember how rap used to be. If your going to buy RUN-D-MC new album Crown Royal(if it ever drops) then this album is for you.

Classic Kane!
This new work by Rap Master, Big Daddy Kane is classic 1988 hip-hop updated to interest some of the new millenium appetites. Cuts like "Hold it Down", "Do You Really Know", and "Uncut Pure" would probably go gold with the right promotion and marketing. These cuts Lyrically are way ahead of the game and the production on these tracks is reminiscent of the classic "Golden Era" of hip-hop, without being too "old school". The Lack of many guests provides Kane with the opportunity to explore many concepts ranging from child neglect, alcoholism, his comeback, and his view on the "new school". The lack of guests such as we have come to expect from Kane in the Past is somewhat of a letdown, it would be nice to see more of todays hot acts on a track or two with the Prince of Darkness. There is no doubt that Kane's image has taken a beating over the years, but any honest critique of this newest project would have to give it up once again for the Smooth Operator. -Lyrical

Definetly worth the money.
If you are a fan of old school 80's rap, this album is for you. Normally I wouldn't expect anyone to buy it unless they are Fat Boys diehards, but its only 4 bucks on Amazon, so scoop it up if you want to get some laughs at the epitome of old school rap. A Nice & Smooth album...
Nice & Smooth has taken a huge transition throughout the years as far as their beats go, but the lyrics are always that same classic old-school style. "Blazing Hot" may not have been blazin-hot on the charts, but this is classic Nice & Smooth and is easily for any hip-hop collector. Even though most of the joints on this album are fresh, the best cuts on this album are "Lockdown," "Blazing Hot," "I'll Be Good To You," and the very emotional and HEARTFELT "Let It Go," which has a very important message. This is a damn good album and Nice & Smooth will always be respected by me for what they've done for the hip-hop culture.
