5-0 out of 5 stars Maybe Ice Cube's greatest album
It is hard to say if DEATH CERTIFICATE or AMERIKKKA'S MOST WANTED is Ice Cube's best album.

This album has so many good tracks on it I probably could list them all -- some are: "Wrong N**** to F*** Wit", My Summer Vacation", "Steady Mobbin'", "Man's Best Friend" (one of the 1st tracks to sample George Clinton's "Atomic Dog"), and "Bird in the Hand".
Also, this album has the greatest diss-track ever -- "No Vaseline" which is about Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, and the rest of NWA

This album has great funk-induced beats (that was popular in 1990's rap), and Ice Cube covers several issues of that time in the album.

It is an essential album, but the material may seem dated for the youngin's.

5-0 out of 5 stars One hell of a follow up to Amerikkka's Most Wanted
Man, you'd think that after setting the world on fire with Amerikkka's Most Wanted, there would be no way that Ice Cube could top that album. But with his second release Death Certificate, he comes VERY CLOSE. This album is SO EXCELLENT that after playing it the first time, you'd have to play over again. In 1991, Cube came hard once again, showing us a venomous taste in some political issues for this record. It's another one of my favorite album. Here's the review:

Album Highlights: The ENTIRE album, even the skits are worth listening to.

Production: Thumbs up.

Lyrics and Subject Matter: Thumbs up, he came politically correct on this one.

Originality: Thumbs up.

The Last Word: Ice Cube had the West Coast ON LOCK with this album in 1991, even more so than N.W.A. at the time with the release of their lackluster album NIGGAZ4LIFE (by the way, check out the BRUTAL dis of N.W.A. on this album entitled "No Vaseline"). Overall, another STRONG RECOMMENDATION on this album, one of the greatest sequels EVER in hip hop. You won't be disappointed if you purchase this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Album of All Time
This is Ice Cube at his apex. He did good work with NWA, and his first LP was pretty good, the EP was pretty good, but this album is just fantastic. The beats are great with production by the Bomb Squad (Chuck-D's crew), the lyrics are tight, but what makes this album so good is the concept. I first bought this on tape so the concept is more understandable and every single song had a purpose; the first side is straight up gangsta with bombs like My Summer Vacation, Bird in the Hand, and Look Who's Burnin, while the second side is more pro-black with strong (and some, not me, would consider over the top) songs like Horny Little Devil, True to the Game (which is still the funniest video I ever saw), and Color Blind. But then at the very end he serves NWA some hot fire with "No Vaseline", a response to "Real Niggaz". This is what the War and Piece albums tried to be but didn't come close. By that time Cube had become a movie star wearing top hats. But this album is not only classic Cube but classic hip-hop. This album makes most of today's hip-hop, which is devoid of concept and talent, look like doo doo.

Ice Cube spews forth the most hateful, vulgar, sexually debasing, racially antagonistic stream of filth I have ever had the displeasure of hearing. ... Read more

He's one of the most distinctive MCs around--he's taller, has funkier dreads, has great taste in samples (the Knight Rider theme), has a sense of history ("Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check" comes right from the Sugarhill Gang), and ooh, that growl. Ever since his days in Leaders of the New School--let's trace it back to his contribution to A Tribe Called Quest's classic posse cut "Scenario"--Busta's brought something special to the party. It's all there on Extinction Level Event: there's the Armageddon concept, the guest stars (Janet Jackson, Mystikal, Ozzy Osbourne), and a great soundscape to frame Busta's raps. Still, it feels like something's missing: there's no huge standout hit; the production, in the hands of someone like Timbaland, could be even better; and Busta's raps often feel like he's relying more on that voice rather than writing anything new. But it's hard to fault someone who, even with all his success, includes a skit where the B-boy gets reprimanded with the line, "Look, you played-out player, I don't need you--I got a vibrator." --Randy Silver ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Extinction Level Event
Busta Rhymes, a prince of Hip/Hop Music, has come up with a new album that strikes his fans as his most creative one yet. Fans have heard of "The Coming", "When Disaster Strikes" and his great CDs. Now we welcome, "Extinction Level Event". The thing about Busta Rhymes that makes him so great is the flow of the way he brings the music to you and the wonderful and creative beats he uses in his compositions. He may have a reputation to look crazy with those dangling dreadlocks, but still it's just the way he uses music that makes his music sound so good. This CD features guests like Janet Jackson, Mystical, and Ozzy Osborne along this time as guests, as well as the Flipmode Squad. The song with Janet is the best collaboration with Rhymes on this CD. Give this album a try and trust me Fans and Non-Fans of busta won't be disappointed at all. He just has the powerful energy of a super hero! If you weren't into this kind of music before, you will be now!

5-0 out of 5 stars Busta's best album yet!
"E.L.E." is way better than Busta's last album. Armed with his latest hit single "Gimme Some Mo'" and some of the thickest baselines I've ever heard, he smacks as in the head with this high energy album. Let's get this started:

Intro-"There's Only One Year Left!"-Skit-Funny as hell! Kicks it off just right!

"Everybody Rise"-high energy track with great piano loop and hard beat, sure to get you pumped. Rating-(Scale 1 to 10) 9

"Where We Are About to Take It-Average track, good baseline.Rating-6

"Extinction Level Event"-Hillarous song, Busta's lyrics should get you laughing. It would be a good idea to make this the next single, imagine the video!Rating-8

"Tear Da Roof Off"-Produced my Swiss Beats from the Ruff Ryder's camp, he comes through with the beat and Busta just flows with it.Rating-7

"Against All Odds"-Featuring the Flipmode Squad-The Squad comes through on this one, good hook, worth a listen.Rating-7

"Give it to me Raw"-Funny skit at the beginning, but the song itself is probably the weakest on the album. The strings sound so stupid. Rating-2

"Do it to Death"-This song sticks to you long after you listen to it. High quality.Rating-8

"Keepin it Tight"-Shoulda been on his last album. Still pretty cool.Rating-6

"Gimme Some Mo'"-Everybody's heard this one. This single's promoting the album, thumping base, hard-hitting lyrics, hillarous video, top rate. Rating-10

"Iz They Wildin' wit us and Gettin' Rowdy with us?"-featuring Mystikal-Great combination, they complement each other beautifuly. If these two would rap any faster their mouths would catch on fire, the guitar sounds john blaze!-Rating-9

"Party Goin' on Over Here"-Good beat, good hook, good song.Rating-7

"The Bus the Bus"-Sounds like "Rhymes Galore" off his last album, good, but not great.Rating-6

"Take it Off"-Wack, don't even bother.Rating-2

"What's it Gonna Be-featuring Janet Jackson-For some strange reason I like this song, great chorus. Rating-7

"Hot **** Making Ya' Bounce"-Catchy tune-Rating-6

"What the **** you Want?"-Loud, stupid hook, good lyrics safe it from wackness-Rating-5

"This Means War"-featuring Ozzy Osbourne-LOUD, I really like the hook though.Rating-7

"Outro-The Burial Song"-Skit-Sounds like something the Wu would do. Too bad Busta doesn't rap over this.

GET THIS ALBUM NOW!!!! Busta's best CD yet. You can't miss this one!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Busta Rhymes - E.L.E.: The Final World Front
This album is where Busta was starting to fall off. "Tear the Roof Off" was an excellent song and so was the song with Mystikal, "Iz They Wildin' Wit Us...". I didn't like that Janet Jackson crossover song, "What's It Gonna Be??!?", at all and that Ozzy Osbourne "War" song really messed up a good "Iron Man" sample. Busta was in the midst of releasing albums and/or songs every year, starring in Mountain Dew commercials, and guest-starring on TV, movies and rap/R&B songs. People were starting to get sick of him.

4-0 out of 5 stars four years after the end of the world, and still great rap
Nowadays, it seems that all you have to do to make it in the mainstream rap circuit is to know somebody, or at the most extreme get shot for street cred. I'm sorry, but suffering bullet wounds doesn't make you a gansta anymore than wearing a bun on your head makes you a delicious cheeseburger. Rap is about one thing: words. And in that kingdom, Busta rules over all.

The whole cd is a concept album, focusing on the "cataclysmic apocalypse" which will show itself at the turn of the millenium, and Busta is there to narrate us through it, from the disturbing narration in "Only One Year Left" to the hope that comes with "The Burial Song". And in the middle is an incredibly solid rap album. I wouldn't venture so far as to say it was the best album ever, but could be the best in mainstream rap. A lot of the tracks aren't particularly special, but even those are good for blasting in your car ("Just Give It To Me Raw", "Everybody Rise").

Generally, the best tracks are found in his collaborations. In "Against All Odds", he works with the Flipmode Squad and a killer sample to make one of the coolest gangsta tracks this side of Method Man. Mystikal joins in for the pumped up "Iz They Wildin Wit Us", Ozzy lends his voice and the tune of "Iron Man" to the powerful "This Means War", and Janet Jackson teams up with Busta for "What's It Gonna Be", the ultimate grind track. But Busta's real talent is working alone, and writing the fastest rap out there. The big single, "Gimme Some More" is still incredible after hearing it edited on the radio a hundred times, and "Where We Are About To Take It" is Busta at his best: raw, rhythmic, and cooler than you'll ever be.

Based on Freeway’s introduction to the rap world (a verse on "1-900-Hustler" from Jay-Z’s The Dynasty, where he provides a tutorial on how to deal drugs effectively), it’s a challenge not to think that he’s just another in a long line of "devout" MCs who debauch with the best of them. But few of the others rap with the same sense of urgency or have such a distinctively mesmerizing yet whiny vocal drone. On "Free," Freeway reminds us why we endured a full year of delays before this debut hit the streets, flipping schizophrenic flows over a pounding Just Blaze beat and an even catchier female vocal sample. You may love his off-kilter flow or you may hate it (think Ol’ Dirty Bastard), but you can't deny that Freeway has rhyme skills, especially on burners like "What We Do," his shady street-life redemption opus featuring thug adviser Beanie Sigel. His storytelling capabilities arguably rival that of his mentorJay-Z on "Life," an open letter to a neighborhood homey who’s doing a lifetime bid. However, this Philly MC’s fixation on tales of dope peddling, prison, or street life may make it a bit too hustle-centric for some. --Dalton Higgins ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Roc's great hope!
Freeway is the emerging star of the Roc!
With a rasping, distinctive voice and skilfully crafted lyrics, backed up with typially excellent beats from the likes of Just Blaze and Kanye West, this is definitely the hottest album dropped by the Roc for as long as i can remember.
Despite the album beginning with complete bangers such as 'What we do' feat Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel, and Flipside feat Peedi Crakk(of State Property fame), the album is consistently brilliant throughout, and if anything, strenghthens song by song. Never mind the uncompromising, overly-agressive lyrics from the likes of Beanie Sigel and Memphis Bleek etc, Freeway relays his life growing up in the gutter with style and diplomacy, successfully merging his knowledge of the streets with his desire to leave his past behind and to make waves in the rap game. This is the hottest album ive heard since Dr Dre's Chronic 2001, a must-have for any true rap fan not just obssessed with cliche, thug life lyrics. Remember the name-Freeway

5-0 out of 5 stars Freeway Shows his talent as a rhymer and innovator
Freeway finally released his debut album this past year. I personally had been anticipating this album release for at least 2 years and was psyched to hear it. Personally track 1 entited "Free" is a personaly favorite. If he sticks with his mentors Jay-Z and Dame Dash he should have nothing but brightness in his near future. This is a definite must have for new artists of 2003, ranks a close second only behind 50 Cent in my opinion.

Without DMX, there would be no Ja Rule. When the gravelly voiced Dark Man X bum-rushed the rap world, he paved the path for a whole slew of next-generation leathernecks with flows to match. That being said, Rule is a worthy adversary for his oft-maligned peer, managing to combine DMX's signature stuttery, acerbic flow with just a hint of Jay-Z's flash and wit. The production, handled largely by Irv Gotti, is trademark New York thug style, suiting Rule's grumbles to a T. Yet amid the tales of "murda" (and there are many), there are some moments of insurgent sunshine. "Race Against Time" is the thug's lament, no less potent for its obligatory nature. And on "Let's Ride," Rule winks at the ladies, telling them "My style is so touching, it'll wipe your eye." To boot, he prints his lyrics in the booklet, an all-too-rare phenomenon in rap. Caesar he ain't, but emperor for a day? Certainly. --Jon Caramanica ... Read more

This is one of my favorite mainstream Hip Hop albums. I coped this back in 2000 and I still listen to it today. All 20 tracks are tight, and I have never skipped a track on this album. "We Here Now" is a great track to kick off the album. It has a hard gangsta-type beat with Ja murdering the beat. "Lets Ride" is Ja spitting lyrics in a fast pace, beat is real hot and its a great track to bump in your car. Most probably heard "Holla Holla", its not my favorite Ja track, but its hot. "Kill Em All" features Jay-Z, has a nice concept Jigga and Rule is a hot combination. "Suicide Freestyle" has Case on the hook and is very creative and original. "Story To Tell" has one of the hottest beats I have ever heard, Ja murders this beat also. "Its Murder" features DMX and Jay-Z and these three cats could of made a great album together. Unfortantly, this pointless beef is keeping great things from happening. "E-Dub & Ja" has a new school vibe on Ja's part, and an old school vibe on Eric Sermons part, very tight track. "Daddy's Little Baby" is a track that he dedicated to his daughter, very emotional track. "Race Againts Time" is another one of my favorite Ja tracks, this one shines. "Only Begotten Son" is one of my ALL TIME favorite Hip Hop tracks, this track is so deep, I can listen to it everyday.

Overall: 4.8/5 Near classic album. A must own.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Debut!!!!
This is the Ja Rule that I expected to see all the time. He came into the game hard making a name for himself and Murder Inc. records. This album is filled with great songs like Lets Ride, Holla Holla, Kill Em All feat Jay-Z, Story To Tell, Its Murda feat Jay and DMX, Murda 4 Life, and Race Against Time. The other songs are decent but I felt like these were stand out songs. I couldnt wait to here Ja's next album after hearing this. If you like Ja Rule you need to get this. Its defenitely his best album. If you dont like Ja Rule b/c of how he is now, pick this up anyway....beleive me they are 2 different people now.

Amazon.com's Best of 2001

The Wu-Tang Clan have slimmed down on their lean and mean third album, both in title and in content. Clearly having learned a lesson from the ostentatious affair that was their last group effort, Wu-Tang Forever, The W weighs in at a taut 13 tracks, with little, if any, extraneous self-righteous solipsism. RZA returns to the boards for all but one track and proves that Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) was no fluke, manipulating ghoulish soul to chilling effect on "Hollow Bones" and dropping (and chopping) thunderous horns at the intro to "One Blood Under W" (which features a stellar turn from reggae don Junior Reid). The album's first two singles--"Protect Ya Neck (The Jump Off)" and "Gravel Pit"--are both fierce, propulsive numbers, inspiring the Wu collective--Ghostface Killah and Method Man in particular--to higher energy levels than they've displayed in years. Elsewhere, The W is Ghost's record, especially on the unhinged lament "I Can't Go to Sleep" and the prostrate plea "Jah World." Memorably, Snoop and ODB collaborate to comic effect on "Conditioner," and all the album's cameos--from Redman and Nas to Isaac Hayes and Busta Rhymes--show that the group is still as savvy as ever. On The W, the boasting is earned. --Jon Caramanica ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Wu Won't Stop, cos Wu Can't Stop
Though the Wu still haven't managed to capture the classic essence of 36 Chambers, this is stronger then Wu-Tang Forever. Maybe if it wasn't for the lack of comedy brought by ODB, this could be a classic. but due to their missing clansman, the other members try to come harder. Meth comes on every track he spits on with the most of energy we've seen in a long time. and Ghostface's clever lyrics are present on every track. But on 'Can't Go To Sleep' he is almost crying on the song, i've never heard anything like it in hip hop. On this album, there is surprisingly guest appearances on it. Whether its to try to appeal to a more mainstream audience i don't know, but none-the-less Snoop, Redman, Busta Rhymes and Nas all appear. along side Junior Reid and Isaac Hayes. who both bring a meaningful soulful sound to the album. The other guest appearances are not really needed but it show's the Wu are trying all things new.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hot $hit
A welcome return by the one and only Wu. Unfortunately the highly anticipated album doesn't have Ol' Dirty on it, but the rest of the clan totally make up for it. The album contains some of their best work so far, including 'Gravel Pit' with the chorus sung by Paulissa Moorman. Her voice is a fine contrast the the rhymes of Shaolin's finest. 'Protect Ya Neck (The Jump Off)' is another hot track. I really like tracks 2 and 3-'Careful (Click, Click)' and 'Hollow Bones'. All the tracks have great beats and brilliantly tight and inventive words. I particularly liked the change of beat at the start of many of the songs, listening to each song takes you through a whole experience like no other group can. There isn't a bad song on this album, they are all hot to death. There are also some brilliant people featured on it, including Nas, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Redman, Isaac Hayes and Junior Reid. I can't compare the album to anything I know, it's original and one of the hottest albums out this year, definately worth buying if you like any kind of rap, this is the one!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Hip Hops best album, it is pure Wu
The best songs in this CD are Gravel Pit and The Jump off, others are great and this album has it all, collaberation, hip hop, method man and legendary hip hop star Ghostface Killah. You should definitly buy this. I'm feelin' this. 8.5/10

4-0 out of 5 stars What do you expect from Wu-Tang?
In my opinion, this is the second best album that Wu have released, behind the classic 36 Chambers. If you are a fan of Wu-Tang (and how could you not be?) you know what you are getting. Straight grimey beats, hot lyrics, and a sh*tload of talented emcees. All of the members flow so smoothly together listening to these guys spit is really special. No one emcee is above any other, they join together to form one of the greatest, if not the greatest group of emcees in hip-hop. The few guests that include Redman, Nas, and Busta Rhymes drop some hot verses in the songs they are featured in but this album is all about the Wu, as it should be. I don't know what else to say except go and buy this album because it is a great hip-hop album and is what hip-hop is all about.

Like rapper DMX, Ja Rule's scratchy vocal delivery is an acquired taste. But given the success of his Lil' Mo-aided hits "Put It on Me" and "I Cry," it's no surprise that his third album follows the same formula as its predecessor, as midtempo grooves mix with thugged-out beats and rhymes. On "Lost Little Girl," a coming-of-age tale that charts the struggles of an urban hottie, Rule's gift for storytelling shines bright. While "I'm Real (Murder Remix)," featuring Jennifer Lopez, is almost worth the purchase price alone, one must conclude that Rule is best appreciated in small doses. On "So Much Pain" Rule apes 2Pac's flow, rhyme patterns, and introspection to an annoying T. Likewise, "Down Ass Bitch" sadly sounds like another thematic take-off on Apache's "Gangsta Bitch" anthem. At least "Livin' It Up" doesn't bastardize Stevie Wonder's gem "Do I Do" too much, and the beats cooked up on "Pain Is Love" and the guitar-fuelled "Always on Time" saves this release from losing all of those cool points he's earned for being a great writer. This one's strictly for the Ja Rule-initiated. --Dalton Higgins ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Go away Ja Rule
Okay I will admit, at first I really liked Ja Rule. But over the past several years, his music has really gone downhill. First off, the guy should NOT SING!! He is a rapper, and his raspy voice does him no justice in trying to sing. Second, what is the big deal with this guy? He is about as unoriginal as they come. And it seems like everytime I turn around, there he is with another song/duet, etc. Is it necessary for this guy to be on every person's CD doing duets with them? He was horrible in the first soundtrack for Fast and the Furious, his duet with JLo is boring and repetitive, and if I hear his "Always on Time" song with Ashanti one more time, I'm gonna scream.
Plus, here is this little scrawny 140 pound guy talking about how he's gonna raise hell and go on these killing sprees? Ummmmm.....no. I don't think so. Anyway, if you're thinking of getting this album, I wouldn't recommend it. I gave the album 2 stars only because I really like the song "Dial M for murder". Otherwise, the rest of it is just overused themes that have been done a million times before. And what is up with him rapping "with" Tupac? Tupac was a legend, and Ja Rule will never even come close to his status. Shows you how much of a wannabe Ja Rule really is.

5-0 out of 5 stars SO MUCH PAIN
Okay, so Venni Vetti Vecci was dark and angry. Rule 3:36 was brighter and for the clubs. So what exactly does Ja Rule offer on his third LP? He unleashes all the emotions that he has collected throughout his career in an album that showcases a pensive thug On PAIN IS LOVE Ja is ready to talk about the rap life both the good and the bad. The obvious gem of this album is the remake of 2Pac's Above The Rim soundtrack 'So Much Pain'. Ja remakes the first two verses with a passion that is reminiscent of the late Makaveli himself. However, it isn't until you hear Pac rip the final verse that you realize he'll never be replaced. But Ja definitely holds his own with highlights including the Missy Elliot laced "X" and the obvious club-driven first single 'Livin It Up" with a Case hook remake of the Stevie Wonder "Do I Do". Murder is still a big topic of Ja's story telling but the effects of the constant Ja Rule/r&b collaborations show in such thug-love ballads as "Always on Time" and "Down As B**ch". Throw in that Murder Remix of J.Lo's 'I'm Real" the album is a definite must have with definite club banga and jeep speaker potential. Once again Ja comes correct. The rage in his growl may have been softened but its all for the sake of making the booties shake.

4-0 out of 5 stars Gotta Admit, It's Good
I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of Ja Rule, but I respect the fact that he's not afraid to admit to doing a pop song(unlike 50 Cent). "Pain Is Love" is my favorite album of Ja's. Here's my rating of the tracks:

Intro
"Dial M For Murder"- Good gangsta song to start the album with.

"Livin It Up"- A decent pop song. It's listenable.

"The Inc"- A good thug song with Cadillac Tah and other Murda Inc. rappers.

"Always On Time"- Another pop song, but it is catchy for awhile.

"Down A** B*tch"- One of my favorite songs because I like Charli Baltimore and this song has her and a nice beat.

"Never Again"- Not one of my favorite songs, but it's aight.

"Worldwide Gangsta"- Pretty good song, but not one of my favorites.

Leo(skit)- A funny parody of Miss Cleo.

"I'm Real"- Another pop song but Ja and JLo work good together

"Smokin and Ridin"- Another one of my favorites. Nice beat, nice verses, tight chorus.

"X"- Probably the song I dislike the most on this album.

Big Remo(skit)- Another skit. It is a lil funny though.

"Lost Little Girl"- Sounds like it's supposed to resemble 2Pac's "Brenda's Got A Baby", but it's still good.

"So Much Pain"- My favorite song, even though it's a remake. 2Pac is my favorite rapper and Ja was smart for adding this song on his album.

"Pain Is Love"- An okay song to leave the album.

Overall the album is flawed, but it's Ja Rule what do you expect.

1-0 out of 5 stars Ja Rule Sucks So Much D1ck
Look Ja, 2Pac is the greatest rapper that ever lived. You, on the other hand, are nowhere near him. Pain is one of the best songs 2Pac ever recorded, COME UP WITH YOUR OWN LYRICS! He took 2Pacs lyrics and re-worded them just a little and is getting credit for them like he wrote them.If you want the real song, buy the cassette version of the Above The Rim soundtrack,Or Go To http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=kazaalite and download kazaa lite (it's better than the regular kazaa) if you don't already have it to get the song it'll be worth it and you can see how ja rule just copied 2Pac's Lyrics. The original is way better and has 2 2Pac Verses. If you know and appreciate real rap, then you wont buy this. You'll buy, 2Pac,Biggie Ice Cube Or Snoop Dogg.

1-0 out of 5 stars This album sucks!!!!!
This is when I started to not like Ja Rule. I hate this CD the single Livin It Up feat Case, is okay and was enough to get me to buy the album because I thought maybe its more like his past albums. But was I wrong.... and what made me really mad was how he distroyed that song with 2pac. That is 2pac's song so please dont give Ja credit for that song. People stay away from this album its nothing like his previous albums. This was officially the last Ja Rule album that I bought!!!!!! ... Read more

As the first group to be released on the Neptunes' Star Trak imprint, Virginia-based rhyme duo and brothers Malice and Pusha T have at their disposal the most clever producers in music today. And they literally exhaust this fine privilege. There are so many legitimate danceable club hits on their debut that you're pretty much forced to ignore the CD's lyrical shortcomings. The album blasts off with "Grindin'," the street-buzz single of the 2002 summer, with its heavy, old-school Run DMC-style drum claps. Similarly, "I'm Not You" flaunts an infectious calypso-pan loop, which makes you pay no heed to the dozens of street-drug verses. The hedonism continues on "Let's Talk About It," with the braggadocio of Jermaine Dupri, and the catchy, hook-driven "Young Boy." Overall, the beats are ridiculously good, but the emcees are quite average. Sorry, no instrumental version available at this time. --Dalton Higgins ... Read more

This is a hott cd. The beats are amazing and the lyrics are on point. Malice and Pusha T have creative rhymes backed by good production from the neptunes. Track Ratings:

Intro - 6/10 - it was ok, not fantastic but not terrible

Young Boy - 8/10 - I liked this funk beat, there is definitely an originality to this

Virginia - 7/10 - Good track for the most part, the lyrics say a lot about their lost boy. But the beat could have been better

Grindin' - 10/10 - What Can I say? This was my street anthem for summer 2002.

Cot Damn - 10/10 - I think this is my favorite album. Great beat, Great lyrics, and a GREAT chorus that I've been singing for quite some time now

Ma, I Don't Love Her - 4/10 - Didn't like it.

Famlay Freestyle - 7/10 - It was good, except there was no Clipse

When the Last Time - 10/10 - no explanation needed

Ego - 8/10 - Hott beat, Hott song

Comedy Central - 8/10 - very good track with a good guest spot by Fabolous

Let's Talk About It - 8/10 - another good track

Gangsta Lean - 7/10 - not bad

I'm Not You - 9/10 - I love the beat and the lyrics

Grindin' Remix - 10/10 - Still the same grindin' beat, and the lyrics are hott as ever with baby and wayne still 10

Grindin' Selector Remix - 2/10 - This track is just useless, i could have done without this one.

All in all i really enjoyed this cd, I like Clipse and I love the neptunes production. Hopefully they keep putting stuff out for a long time.

4-0 out of 5 stars FIRE
when i first got the album i was shocked at how good they were usually when you listen to someones debut album you hear mild to subpar beats with flashes of tight lyrical combo's but not on this cd this was like Barry Bonds playing against that little league team that everyone used to whip all the time.Be clear on the way its goin down the album on the whole was hotter than the summer heat. Va's finest(undisputed)put out an excellent debut album. no question. look for their next cd to sky rocket them into one of the best rap groups of all time.

3-0 out of 5 stars Solid Debut (3.5 Stars)
Let me just say that if the Neptunes didn't do the beats, this album would lose half a star. Basically, this album comes down to the beats. If you think about it, Pusha T and Malice aren't saying anything that Jadakiss, Fabolous, Beanie Sigel, Cam'ron, or Styles P haven't said already. In fact, they're talking about the same things and using the same tired metaphors. Think I'm lying, listen to "I'm Not You" feat. Jadakiss, Styles P., and Roscoe P. Coldchain. Don't get me wrong, I like this album, I'm just being unbiased. These two guys sound alike to me (maybe because they're brothers), but you can definitely tell them apart. Malice is definitely the better of the two, but Pusha does have his moments. The strongest moments of the album come when they are backed by strong production from The Neptunes. Some of the tracks are kind of boring, but the others just demand your attention. For example, "Grindin" has a strong beat, and it's one of the strongest songs on the album while on the other hand, songs like "Let's Talk About It" are too bland to even be mentioned otherwise. And tracks like "Ego" and "Gangsta Lean" are just plain wack. Their flows aren't strong enough to carry a song with a subpar beat. The people that tell you that this is an incredible groundbreaking album are either biased gangsta rap enthusiasts that seem to think that these two are the first to tackle topics like drugs, money, rims, and hoes.....or they're from Virginia. I like this album, but this is just an average album. Let's be real. You won't be dissappointed that you bought it, but you won't be blown away by it either. Overall though, it's a solid debut. Let's hope their next album is stronger though.

Standout Tracks: Grindin', Cot Damn, Ma I Don't Love Her, When The Last Time, Virginia, and Grindin' (Remix) feat. N.O.R.E., Baby, & Lil' Wayne (My Favorite)

With Yo! Bum Rush the Show, Public Enemy introduce a new kind of bravado that's not just directed at other players and sucker MCs but is an out-and-out middle-finger challenge to the whole world, as these serious brothers roll right over you in a slow-moving convoy of 98 Oldsmobiles ("You're Gonna Get Yours"). PE crowd these tracks with disparate sounds that move your butt while they buzz from every channel. Despite their serious posturing, you'll be grateful for the sloppy bass line in "Timebomb" and Terminator X's brilliant tone experiment, "Public Enemy No. 1." Yo! isn't PE's masterpiece, but it's a truly standout album, a warning shot for the full-scale assault they would later initiate on It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. --Todd Levin ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This album inspired an entire generation
The first and the best from PE. Anyone who is anyone already has it. Rough, raw beats with slick lyrics from Chuck thrown in with Flav's crazy style gave PE the originality which has seen them survive nearly 14 years in hip-hop. If you don't have it...get it. If you do, stop playing on your computer and go and listen to it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Flawless. Perfection. A Landmark Album.
This CD was released when hip hop really mattered, and is one of the most vital releases of the genre. Chuck D's flow is bursting with urgency, and the beats are slammin'. "My Uzi Weighs a Ton," "You're Gonna get Yours," and "Time Bomb" are off the chain! PE would release 2 more classics before they faded out of the spotlight, but their influence on hip hop is incalculable. Maybe if some of these modern artists stopped talking about gettin' paid and follow PE's example, the state of modern hip hop wouldn't be in the sorry state it's in.

5-0 out of 5 stars An AWESOME introduction to Public Enemy!!!
Public Enemy definitely cemented their position in hip hop history as one of the greatest groups of all time. This album, their first, is one HELL of an introduction to the hip hop world, and they did so with style. This is the first album in a THREE STRAIGHT series of classic albums. Here's the review:

Album Highlights: The entire album.

Production: Thumbs up, listen to the some of the very first of the classic beats from The Bomb Squad.

Lyrics and Subject Matter: Thumbs up.

Originality: Thumbs Up.

The Last Word: This album truly shows us that PE had MORE in store, and boy did they ever. This is Chuck D in his prime, as he only got BETTER as they years went on. A strong recommendation for this album. Buy this a listen to Public Enemy speak the truth on the debut.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best album of all time
You want to know why this is the best musical album ever created by man? Two words. Chuck. D. This guy can belt out a merry tune like his throat is coated in velvet. In fact, he is velvet. Velvet smooth. Anything by PE is genius 5 star level but this album stands out especially for its contribution to the eighties' as a whole as being political/angry. In the horrible Ragen years, Chuck, Griff, and Flavor Flav stood up to the man. The other albums they sold out but this one still packs a punch. A suckerpunch that is, right to the groin.

4-0 out of 5 stars MY UZI WEIGHS A TON
This is one of the most underrated ground-breaking rap albums of all time. These guys came out with this album, with a sound so unheard of and unique at the time. I can still remember blasting these classics out of my car with my buddies as we smoothly cruised down the street. Any true rap fan must own this album. This is a true classic. Listen to it several times and you won't stop playing it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THE GREATEST RAP ALBUM OF ALL TIME
LET ME JUST START OFF BY SAYING THAT I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF RAP MUSIC FOR MANY YEARS, AND I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING LIKE THIS. SEASON OF DA SICCNESS IS FLAT-OUT THE GREATEST RAP ALBUM OF ALL TIME. THE COMBINATION OF LYRICS AND BEATS ON THIS CD IS UNBELIEVABLE. I JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW, THAT'S GARBAGE! THIS IS REAL HIP-HOP. THIS ALBUM IS RAW, GRITTY, DARK, GRIMEY, AND JUST FLAT OUT SICK, LIKE HIP-HOP SHOULD BE.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Sick
Ima Big West Coast Rap Fan and maybe besides Pac this is one of the best California Rap Albums and maybe overall. It has good dark grimy beats wit some S to the I C to the K lyrics. Not many guest appearences which is good. Plus Lynch has one of the best flows ever:
1. Cushe Break: 18 second intro
2. Sicc Made: 3:45, good sick slow beat, it has a heavy bass and good lyrics of course from Lynch. 5/5
3. Dead Man: 52 seconds, interlude wit lynch talking about setting someone up
4. Rest in Piss- Best hook on the album besides return of da baby killa, slow beat and good lyrics. 5/5
5. Get da babby- 35 seconds of lynch talking about killing a baby
6. Return of da baby killa- Best song of the album, quick uppace beat with the best hook and lyrics. 5/5

This is straight up my favorite album of all time, my favorite out of all the other stuff i listen to like korn, tool, the dayton family, three-6-mafia, deftones........and many others. My favorite songs on this are Datz real Gangsta and Welcome to Your Own Death. Pick this up if you have not already, you wont regret it, it is tha SHIZNIT

5-0 out of 5 stars Lynch's 1st solo LP release
First, I'd thought that I did a review on this cd a few years ago...

I don't want the readers to get the wrong idea; this album is not for the small-minded. I'm not sure if the homie Lynch was lucky in the listing or what, but he got many of the best rap verses in history together on this album. Zagg's unforgettable debut verse, two by Hyst that are just immortal, and that is just to name a few. And Lynch Hung himself is 100% raw, but he is not unchecked...

Lynch is a very conscious artist. Every word is the product of a conscious effort. In my opinion this is his most raw album to date because it deals with the belief that we are all baby killers. Every gang member that you know that is willing to "put in work." Every friend you had that passed via violence in urban legend. Every mother that cries 'cause she lost a baby that thought his valiance made him invincible. What are you gonna bring home for supper when your baby is crying 'cause you can't buy food?

This is Lynch's portrayal of how we are all baby killers. (Every one of us, in one form or another.) & The tales crafted by the authors on this album are brutal and fierce and suggestive. Not for the weak minded. If you are reading this and you are prone to violent outburst, then you should reconsider your interest in this album. If you are reading this and you have a sound mind and you like real feeling in your art collection, then Lynch can be your Van Gogh. Lynch can get to you and choke your heart, and he can do it with but a few words sometimes.

This isn't the type of album that can make you cry. But it definitely makes one reflect and ponder. And get excited and full of energy.

"10 years from now we'll still be on top/yo I thought I told you that we won't stop" (Mo Money Mo Problems)

It's been 10 years and Bad Boy is still in the game, although I'd dispute the claim that they're still on top. Sean "Puffy" Combs formed a label roster that helmed some of the most talented acts of the '90s.

While I agree with most of the tracks on this album, I feel that the others weren't necessary ("Victory 2004", "Whoa!", "P. Diddy Outro"). Faith Evans only appears once ("I'll Be Missing You" with Puff Daddy & 112), and she had a handful of hits under Bad Boy, as did Total and 112 - all of whom should've had the bulk of this Hits album.

This is what happens when you are the CEO/producer/artist on your own label...you want to be on every song and on every video. P. Diddy was hardly the best act on Bad Boy - that honour goes to the Notorious B.I.G. - yet his name is on almost every song.

It's not a bad compilation of Bad Boy's hits, but it's not a great one by any means. The Video DVD makes you buying this a little more worthwhile.

Next time P. Diddy, give us a more accurate Bad Boy Greatest Hits album.

4-0 out of 5 stars Okay...
Everyone's giving this album harsh reviews, and while I agree that the album needs some classics, the songs on it weren't that bad. Now here's an unwritten rule: "don't f*ck with classics because you can't make them better". Diddy broke that rule when he did "Victory 2004". While it's a good listen, the addition of 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks to the song was a bad decision. The last I heard, G-Unit was never on Bad Boy and had nothin to do with its success. The rest of the tracks are good however, despite Diddy's outro. The hidden Mase song is good("I Ain't No Killer"). The best off Bad Boy, Biggie Smalls, shows up on alot of songs, with no protest. Most of his classics are on here. But where's "Been Around The World" and "Can't Nobody Hold Us Down". Those songs are classics, yet they're not included. I was glad that Mase' song "Feel So Good" was on here. Before there was Kanye West, Mase was the original cocky rapper. Oh by the way, HE'S BACK.

Was this review helpful to you?

2-0 out of 5 stars I could burn a CD and make a better Bad Boy Compilation.
Although it is acknowledged that the hits are there, many individual's favorite cuts are not. I for one bought this CD because I wanted to relive memories of hearing Ma$e's tracks, or hearing Biggie's melodious voice, but when I popped it in and kept hearing Puffy's "yeah!", "c'mon", "whut?", "unh-unh", and his "and it wont stop" talking all over the songs...I was reminded how much his voice angered me. Another thing that really ticked me off was the remix to "Only You" the track here didn't have the Ma$e verse, it was a bootleg version on an official CD. Overall I was really dissapointed with this CD.

Most observers cite savvy record producers as the driving forces behind Euro-dance-cheese-fluff albums like ATC's Planet Pop. The CD's back cover gets to the truth of the matter, however, forgoing a list of the names behind the curtain (or in front of it) in favor of credits for artwork, photography, and shoes. The latter might seem like a good sign, but, despite being touted as an "international sensation," Planet Pop will hardly keep anyone on the floor all night. Mastermind Alex Christensen front-loads the CD with answer songs to Eiffel 65's "Blue (Da Ba Dee)"--"Around the World (La La La La La)," followed by "My Heart Beats Like a Drum (Dum Dum Dum]"--before allowing his young charges to sink into a morass of drab ballads, listless sub-Stacey Q electro-disco retreads, and the obligatory Latin number. I thought maybe the most useful way to go through it is piece by piece, track by track... soo....

1) Introducing ATC --- Gives a good overture to the opening track... "Around The World"... sets the tone and the theme for the rest of the album, also... hear some cool accents!

2) Around The World (La La La) --- By far the best track on the album... this kind of Europop is common, but very rarely is it of this quality! Anyone who refutes the fact that this is TRUE dance music is a moron!

3) My Heart Beats... Like A Drum --- Similar enough to "Around The World" to prove that this is indeed the same band, but different enough, with more poppy feeling to give a new vibe.

4) Thinking of You: A slow, mid-tempo ballad... not one of my favorites because it's not very catchy. (not very danceable)

5) Until --- A VERY happy, upbeat dance track, full of sunshine!!!! :-)

6) Mistake No. 2 --- One of my favorites on the album... proves that mid-tempo, Britney-esque pop can be well crafted! Very, very catchy, and not something that everyone will say "Oh brother!" over.

7) Why Oh Why --- A darker dance track that features a similar vocal style (female though) to Eiffel 65's "Blue". On a scale of 1-10 for catchiness, this would be about a 7... not outstanding but good compared to other acts in the genre.

8) Without Your Love --- Very soft, slow-dance kind of track! Not a rockin' kind of mood here... but it is a very beautiful ballad with a good groove to it in it's own very slow way.(beautiful male vocals!)

9)So Magical --- Very catchy dance track, more of the "la dee dum dye" kind of lyrics here, memorize this one in a minute or less!!! Pretty good overall!

10) Notte D'Amore Con Te --- This is the one I've been holding my breath waiting for... an obligatory Latin-flavored track.... yuk! This trend has GOTTA stop soon! Not horrible, but the over-done-ness of this craze makes me sick! It by itself is an allright track, very catchy, but I've heard sooooo many like this!

11) Mind Machine --- Dreamy, trancy, dance pop... reminds me of sleeping on a cloud... throbbing rhythm, airy vocals... cotton candy for the ear!

12) Let Me Come and Let Me Go --- Another favorite one! Catchy, catchy, and MORE catchy! Not a boom-boom dance track, but very groovy in it's own right... great beat, great male vocals... (BTW... I don't usually like male vocals)... 10 out of 10!

13) Lonely --- Beautiful dance track, perfect for clubbing, cruising, or just wallowing... the lyrics are reflective of being lonesome... gorgeous catchy chourus! Great stuff here.

14) Lonesome Suite --- A minute-or-so long interlude that basically carries on where "Lonely" left off.. instrumental, no drums on this one.

15) Love is Blind --- Another mid-tempo ballad... this one really doesn't CLICK with me... I didn't find it overly catchy... not that great, but not horrible enough to give a failing grade. Very mediocre.

16) With You --- A repeat of the last one... very low on a beat, very un-catchy... of 100 I'd give it a 47 or so... kind of a dissapointing ending!

17) Heartbeat Outro --- No drums on this one... quite pretty, reflective, calming ending (as the last one is a bonus)... not a bad ending to the album. (short.. only about 1:12) (female vocals from "My Heart Beats Like A Drum" -- different notes, same words!)

18) BONUS: My Heart Beats Like A Drum International Radio Edit --- Since I loved the original version, I have no reason NOT to like this one... kind of repetitive considering that this is the 3rd time these lyrics have been used on the album, though...

In general, I absolutely loved this CD... well worth the $$$$$!! Catchy, and just deep enough for middle-of-the-road, placent mood... great to play when you're preoccupied with somethine else to do... it shouldn't distract you, but is interesting musically enough to aid! Give it a spin!

*****Essential Tracks***** --- "Around The World (La La La), "Mistake No. 2", "Let Me Come And Let Me Go", "Lonely", and perhaps "My Heart Beats Like A Drum"

5-0 out of 5 stars This CD Is More Than A Touch Of Class!
ATC proves there more than "a touch of class" with their debut album "Planet Pop". ATC is a very talented group that knows how to sing and has a creative work team that writes their songs. Most of ATC's songs on this album are fast up-tempo dance songs but yet they offer great ballads as well. All of their voices collaborate great together in song like "Thinking of You" and many others. I hate the stereotype that Europe offers horrible music, because if that were true, I wouldn't like this CD and I have taste.

Track Listing:

1.) Introducing ATC (0.04) = This intro is a bit cheap, but who buys albums for their intro's and way.

2.) Around The World (La La La La La) (3:35) = This is the song that showed me that ATC has potential. This is a great Dance song, and is just irresistible. If you think the other songs on this album are similar to this one, that you need be thinking again, because this CD offers many classes of music.

3.) My Heart Beats Like A Drum (Dum Dum Dum) (3:43) = This track is by far my favorite song on this album, it features a great beat, catchy lyrics, and sweet vocals. I think the sweet child sounding repeats of the lyric "dum dum dum" is what catches my attention.

4.) Thinking Of You (3:42) = This is a ballad like song, however it still has a dance feeling to it, even though the beat is somewhat slow. This song features the vocals of all the members of the group, not just the lady's.

5.) Until (3:49) = This song has a great dance beat, the lyrics are a bit weird, but who's complaining. I think the beginning of this song is kind of funky because one of the guys are singing and you can totally hear his accent, and when people sing they usually lose their accents.

6.) Mistake No. 2 (3:58) = The beat to this song starts off slow but than as it continues the beat picks up. To be truthful, I don't like this song much, there is nothing wrong with it, I'm just not feelin' it.

7.) Why Oh Why (3:52) = The beat to this song is really good, its something ya'll can dance to. This song somewhat reminds me of Eiffel 65 "blue", but it is not a rip off, it still remains its own song.

8.) Without Your Love (3:30) = This is one of the ballad songs on here, I'm not feelin' this track, its too Backstreet/Nsync for me. It's not a bad song, you may like it, its just not one of my favorites.

9.) So Magical (3:35) = This song has a good beat to it and the lyrics are pretty catchy, but there is nothing that really sticks out. This is a good song though, I'm feelin' it.

10.) Notte D'amore Con Te (4:01) = Don't ask me what the heck the song title means, but this is a great song with a good Latin like beat. This is a track I'm feelin', there is something unique about this song that catches my attentions. This is a great dance track, I think you'll be feelin' it to.

11.) Mind Machine (3:34) = This song has an incredible beat, it is dance friendly. I like this song because they did that robotic effect to their voices and its just incredible. This song sounds like it came right out of a video game, or space. This is another one of my favorite songs on this album, try it out, you'll see why I like this song.

12.) Let Me Come & Let Me Go (3:16) = This song has a rock like beat to it, I'm not really feelin' this song. This song has potential though, but its not one of my favorites, you may like it, everyone has different taste.

13.) Lonely (3:50) = This song has an incredible beat and is extremely dance friendly. This song has a catchy chorus that I'm really feelin'. You'll like this track. The beat changes along with their expressions in their voices.

14.) Lonesome Suite (1:08) = These are just extra beats from the previous track, I don't know what the purpose of these are, but its all good. Basically this track is 100% instrumental.

15.) Love Is Blind (3:02) = The beat and the lyrics to this song sound way to Britney Spearish, not that its a bad thing, its just something I'm not feelin'. The beat to this song sounds familiar, like its that of another. Maybe is a cover song?

16.) With You (3:45) = This song has a good aspiring beat, but there is a factor of this song that I don't like. The beat and vocals to this song sound like they are going to pick up as if it's the beginning of a song.

17.) Heartbeat Outro (1:06) = Basically this is like a ballad version of "My Heart Beats Like A Drum", that's all good since that is one of my favorite songs on this album.

18.) Bonus: My Heart Beats Like A Drum (Dum Dum Dum) International Radio Edit (3:56) = I have never heard of a radio edit that is longer than the original version that it's edited from. This is all good, because this song is so good it should be longer than what it is.

Add "A Touch of Class" to your ordinary life, and dance a little bit. Try this CD out you won't regret it, you'll be feelin' it. You can't beat 18 tracks, what do you lose there, your bound to like a majority of the songs on this album. Go buy this CD and help turn the world into "Planet Pop"

5-0 out of 5 stars WOWWWWW!
i first heard around the world on an ad for a cd called fired up!
i had seen atc before but didn't expect the best, until i heard them. man! was i impressed! from their xylaphone based around the world to the thechno dancefloor gutbuster why oh why and lonley

3-0 out of 5 stars Eh, Ok.
ATC's song Around the World is god, as are many other songs. It takes a while to get used to them, but then they're good. For a while. All of their songs are nearly the same. They all have the same instruments and the beat gets stuck in your head. After a while you end up hating them. Though I still like Around the World once in a while, their others songs arent appealing to me anymore.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the last great rap releases.
Maybe it depends on where you grew up, and if you saw the things portrayed on this CD they wouldn't be so disturbing. "To Kill A Hooker" is about just that: these guys ask a girl to come up to their car, and when she wants to get paid, one guy shoots her and gets blood on the seats. Some of the dark humor is not lost on me ("dark" not referring to race, though there are inescapable connotations). But it's disturbing. So is the story line of "One Less B----" in which either Dre or Ren raps about dumping a prostitute (that he's "got to shoot") in the river with cement shoes. In other tracks we hear a lot about smoking marijuana, about a guy's brains splattered all over the wall, and a threat to Ice Cube (who had left the group) in which they'll do things to him with a broomstick. Disturbing. And I feel bad for any kid-- or adult for that matter-- who would have to live in such a negative environment. But if they say they're keeping it "real" I tend to believe them more than all the chart-topping gangsta rappers since N.W.A. Even if they didn't live it themselves, they had friends who had been through it (or not made it through). And though it's almost "too real" there is no denying the artistic ingenuity of their portrayal. For one thing, Dr. Dre devises instrumentals that are stunning in their complexity and originality. He uses singing, samples, keyboards, layer upon layer of sound to create a dizzying pulsating world. Ice Cube may have been the most accomplished rapper, but I don't miss him. Ren and Dre have great voices and Eazy-E has his unique flow. And some of the rhymes are actually very good. And there is a social message to the first half of the CD, though the second half (before "Approach to Danger") is mostly about sex, or rape. The message is that this is the world these guys have been born into-- a world of police brutality, drugs, poverty, prostitution, gangs, and murder after murder-- and since they'll "probably get called a nigga anyway" they'll call themselves that, as they (first of all) stay alive, (secondly) sell millions of records, and (last) remain street wise for life. Negative or positive, this disc was one of the last authentic hardcore rap releases before gangsta went mainstream and we were stuck with Jay-Z & Co.

2-0 out of 5 stars Trying too hard to be hard
I love Dre's music. I love just about everything he's done. But this CD is just too much. Everybody knew, way back when Cube was still hard, that he was the soul of NWA. It seems like when he left, the real hardness left, and this record is full of a bunch of weak bragging about how they're gonna ..., and get paid.

You might say, what's the difference between that and "The Chronic?" I don't know. No doubt that the Chronic is an all-time classic, but the chronic doesn't sound mean-spirited and empty like this disc.

Now, there are some great songs. How "Dayz of Wayback" managed not to be an all-time classic? I don't know. "Real Niggaz Don't Die" is another good track. But even beat-wise, this disc doesn't hold a candle to his best productions.

NWA without Cube is like a tv without a remote. Useless. ...

5-0 out of 5 stars Off The ... Chain!!!!!
Well! All I have to say is when I first heard the masterpiece of the Doc Holiday I was in a trance. Man! I wish sometimes that those guys would do an 2003 version of N.W.A. songs with the same mentality and heart which I can't front. They have a piece I heard on 97.9 The Beat Represented by The D.O.C. I felt it and I believe we do change our styles but it still had the mentality I was hoping for so all I want to know WHAT! WITH THE C.D.!!! ...!!!! Come on do leave a ... fiending ya! know !!! Keep it Gangsta forever. I have a special shout to the ... they love to hate My ... ICE CUBE the Don Mecca !!! Love what you doing. And I also have much love for Dre even with the old skool licks I knew it was just a ...waiting to be lit. And Mr.Villian in black can't say how much your presence has been missed so my ...I still feel you. So! N.W.A. 2003 keep it Gangsta because I'm a fan from DopeMan!, My Posse!, And among of the old skool hits and present hits. So! theres no more to is keep gangsta and I'm out WestCoast!! ... Read more

I bought this CD and it's pretty much been the only thing I've been listening to since I bought it. I dont know if I'd say it's one of my favorite Three6Mafia CD's, but it's definitely one of the better ones. This CD's missing Gangsta Boo, T-Rock, Koopsta Knicca, La' Chat and more of Project Pat. It can also do without Lil Wyte. Mosh Pit just might be the worst track ever on a Three6Mafia CD. On to the tracks...

1.They Bout To Find Yo Body 7/10 Introduction
2.F*** Dat S*** 7/10 Average
3.Woof Woof 10/10 Between this and Try Something for best track on album, this has the best beat though

16.Mosh Pit 0/10 Without a doubt, the worst song on the album.
17.You Scared Part II 9/10 Better than the original, not that the original isnt good
18.Dangerous Posse 7/10 Not the best song like some have claimed
19.Outro

3-0 out of 5 stars Average Album For So Much Hype
After listening to this album I must say that it is really overated. The commercial "spinner" was maybe the only catchy track and it was all about showing how rich they are and how they ride on "spinners" and that they can make that kind of $$$. Rest of the songs are mostly the same commercial style. They lost their original style back when they made original music that you can nod your head to and vibe. On this album, the beats doesn't sound too much different from song to song, and most of the stuff you hear is "Im better than you", "Ima knock a ***** out if he do this, if he do that," "I make so much money I dont care" or something along those lines. They are not very good at making that kind of records either, they do not bring energy, and they mostly drag on throughout the record. Don't get me wrong, this album is an OKAY album it just lacks energy and something really catchy and the lyrics are sort of repetitive. Its a listenable album, however, I don't think there was a single legit punchline i heard on this whole album. If you are a hardcore Three 6 Mafia fan then its definitely for you, otherwise, its not a must get.

not much 2 say but a great cd i felt dat ridin spinners was sort of ruined by lil flip and it would have been fresh to here some more project pat or lil wyte on tha cd... tha fact dat 3 memberz are now gone takez some freshness out of it if your expectin sik versus by gangsta boo or anybody else look at anutha cd like when tha smoke clearz but trakz like "wolf wolf","beatem 2 da floor","lets start a riot","mosh pit" & "dangerous posse" make da cd worth whiling. PEACE EASY 4 LEEZY oh and if you wanna here more fresh artists check out anybody from hypnotize minds rec. psychopathic rec. loud rec. or suburban noise rec.

4-0 out of 5 stars good cd
In my opinion Three Six Mafia has more talent in the business than most of the other new guys coming on to the music scene. The Unbreakables really shows this talent. They are getting more popular and their lyrics and beats are much better put together than some of thier cds of the past. Dont get me wrong i like thier older stuff better than alot of their newer stuff. My favorite song on the album has got to be Money Didnt Change Me. The beats are tight and it has a good story line. The only part of the song i didnt like was the juicy j verse....well i cant say that i didnt like it...it is one of my favorite juicy j verses ever..in the way of his sound and voice expressions..but it really had nothing to do with the rest of the song. On the downside to the cd there are stupid songs like mosh pit and ridin spinnaz...both of those songs annoy the hell out of me. overall though it is worth the 20 bucks. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great CD...
But the "Growin' Up In The Hood" song wasn't composed by Yo-Yo. It was composed by MC-Eight. Also what's the song name when Ricky and Tre are going to Crenshaw (The song in the car)?

4-0 out of 5 stars GOOD SOUNDTRACK FROM AN AWESOME MOVIE
I never appriciated this CD until i watched the movie. After i watched the movie i then slipped in the CD and actually listened to some of the songs.

It really reflects the movie and some of the songs have nice old school beats and there are also some easy listening tracks.Although i would have given this CD 5 stars only if they had a bit more ICE CUBE songs or N.W.A songs, that would be awesome if they had.I really like "HOW TO SURVIVE IN SOUTH CENTRAL", "JUST A FRIENDLY GAME OF BASEBALL" & i love the song "GROWING UP IN THE HOOD".The CD would have been better if it did have "**** THE POLICE" or "STRIAGHT OUTTA COMPTON" by N.W.A.

ALL in ALL if you have seen the movie and liked the music you should enjoy this with all songs listenable, if you havent seen the movie yet, i suggest you should as it is a very good, powerful movie, so do check it out.

3-0 out of 5 stars The song that I really want to know
What's the song that is playing when Dough boys mum is telling him as a kid that he'll never amount to anything in life? It's the same scene where she meets Tre on her doorstep for the first time

4-0 out of 5 stars Missing Tunes
The Fivesteps 'Ooo child' is superb!, shame its not on here, whats the name of the electro track thats playing when groups as kids go on a trek through the hood to see the dead body, that 'electro monster' playing when the guys are playing basketball.......... all these tunes should have been on here, the album really misses some gems from the film, its the movement from 70's,80's 90's thats the great aspect of the film

4-0 out of 5 stars the song in the car ride to the seaside
the song in the car with fishburne taking his son fishing is called 'ohh child' by the 'five stairsteps' !!!!!!!!!!!!! ... Read more

Seven years have passed since Twista's last solo joint (1997's hood classic, Adrenaline Rush), and that's about three career cycles' worth of evolution in the swiftly moving world of hip-hop. The Chicago speed rapper's managed to do well for himself in the interim, retaining a strong following among the thug-life set and accruing new listeners via judicious appearances on splashy commercial releases like Ludacris's Word of Mouf. The long-delayed Kamikaze plays to both sides of the fan base, presenting a fair mixture of old-school Twista style with enough formulaic stuff thrown in to keep the kids happy. On the "OG" end of things you get tracks like the R. Kelly-produced round-the-way ballad, "So Sexy," and "Pimp On," a player's anthem featuring 8 Ball, Too Short, and the legendary Don "Magic" Juan. But it's the trendier tunes like Kanye West's parody-within-a-parody, "Slow Jamz," and the hustler's anthem, "Higher" (featuring the aforementioned Luda), that make the most noise. --Rebecca Levine ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Twista- Kamikaze
Twista's latest album is "Kamikaze" (2004). Hailing from Chicago, Twista is a Rap veteran who has finally managed to get the support of a label (Atlantic) that can market him properly to the mainstream. Guest appearances come from: 8 Ball,Too Short,Ludacris, Kayne West, Jamie Foxx, Jazze Pha, Freeway, Bennie Franks, Danny Boy, T.I., Liffy Strokes, Cee Lo, Anthony Hamilton, Memphis Bleek and Young Chris. Twista tears up the opening track "Get Me", showing his hunger for the game, love for his city while facing his haters. Next he takes things back to his Adrenaline Rush days with "Kill Us All". The lead single is the standout love track "Slow Jamz" feat. Kayne West and Jamie Foxx. It was good to see this cut explode on the radio, its a memorable collabration, what surprised me most about it was that Comedian/Actor Jamie Foxx can sing well. Next two tracks "Get That Doe" (Ain't It Man) and "Still Feels So Good" flow through nicely. Can't say I am really feeling "Drinks" or "Badunkadunk", both seem like filler. Thankfully "One Last Time" picks things up again, Twista's fastpaced flow and chorus shine on this cut. Freeway and Beenie Franks drop in for another good cut with "Show's Over". Ludacris distinct drawl mixed with Twista's trademark flow makes "Higher" an intresting collabration, whether you like this one or not you most likely will remember it. "Snoopin" feat. Danny Boy is a chilled out Rap/R & B collabration. Twista gets reflective on the substantial thought provoking "Hope" feat. Cee Lo, the messages within this track are very positive, this tracks special because Twista absolutely takes things to another level with real and relevant lyrics and Cee-Lo delivers a memorable chorus. Twista and R&B singer Anthony Hamilton drop a nice rendition of a well known track with the upbeat "Lovely Day" (which takes me back to the hit "Player Holiday"). Twista is on good terms with Dame Dash and Rocafella (who want to sign him) so it makes sense that he link up with Rocafellas Memphis Bleek, Young Chris and Freeway for "Art and Life". I have to say I am impressed by this one, it's good to see that Twista is getting the chance to get the commercial attention he deserves after years of being in the background. There are a few tracks I dont feel on this IE "Like a 24", however the majority are good giving this album continuity. The mix of diverse musical cuts make "Kamikaze" a refreshing album which I highly recommend for the collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars second best album in da world

5-0 out of 5 stars THA SMOKIN' NEPHEW #1- DON'T HATE
I recommend this album to any hip hop, r&b, rap lover out there... and to all the homies...you NEED to add this to your collection...Every single song is off da chain..Suga Suga (ft. my dawg Frankie J), YEH SUH! (something you can listen to whenever, great beats..hardcore), WEED HAND (it's exactly about what it says), SHORTY DOOWOP, ON THA CURB (one of my favorites...), my personal fav. SEXY EYES (shows off his skillz), IMAGE OF PIMP, EARLY IN DA MORNING, FEELIN' ME (something i can relate to), OH WOW! (for all the haters), CHANGED MY LIFE (something EVERYONE can relate to), STAY PERKIN', POLLUTION, MENAGE A TROIS (the beat is tight), THA CHOP, DON'T DISRESPECT MY MIND (don't disrespect my clique!), and SUGA SUGA (remix) [to all the haters we gonna give them the finger...cuz this **** raw!]....ALL the songs are awesome...and if you don't think so...ur just biased and need a hearing aid...SHOUT OUT TO ALL MY MEXICANS Y HONDUREÑOS!THIS IS AN ALBUM EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE... YOU'LL BE HOOKED ON HIS STYLE, BEATS, RHYMES, RHYTHMS, AND INTOXICATING LYRICS!!!WORTH EVERY PENNY YOU SPEND AND ALOT MORE!

4-0 out of 5 stars BABY BASH IS SOOOOOOOOO TIGHT
This album is worth yo money! my personal favorites is "suga suga" "shorty doowop" "sexy eyes" "menage a trois" "yeh suh" " tha chop" and youl like the song "dont disrespect my mind" and the "suga suga remix" is ok but the original is better. I think itz cool how he says some words in spanish but he doesnt say alot! dont listen to wat other say about the album itz worth yo money!

1-0 out of 5 stars Not an interesting album.
His lyrics are pretty much just nonsense, absolutely pointless and boring, a lot of repetion. It's really aggravatin to have to listen to them. While many other artists don't have overly intelligent lyrics, here the beats are boring, too. Listen to "Suga Suga" and "Baby Doowop" - the same boring beats, these songs even sound the same. This whole album is pointless.

1-0 out of 5 stars I can tell he smokes alot, cuz weed kills brain cells
Ok this album is Horrible, terrible, and a abomination of a rap album. Baby Baby has no buisness rapping, with his week voice, and mediocre lyrics. The album reeks of money invested poorly.Except for the radio songs, which had appeal because of the people singing on the hooks. I can tell baby bash smokes and the weed smoke has affected his vocal chords and his brain. Have you seen this guy perform? he always looks nervous!Give any body off the street a multi million dollar studio with Happy-p beats, 6 million dollars of promotion, pay the radio stations to play there music and they would sell gold too. Don't buy this album if you really like rap music. If your a dumb little girl who likes his image, but dosen't listen to the words of a song then buy it.

1-0 out of 5 stars If he is your nephew I would smoke him
This punk of a rapper sucks he is a sell out rap artist who had to have another wack performer make his song totally terrible. This really is some garbage and dont take that he is good. This looser has no Talent and this album has nothing ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Lil' Kim at her best
Turn back the clock to 1995-1996. A year to remember in hip hop. Everyone was at the top of their game, even Kim. She represented what female hardcore was all about with her raunchy freakish lyrics. Some might say the reason it was so raunchy was to get publicity. Maybe so. But if it was, she sure as hell did a good job with it. In the song "Scheamin", she talks about the female's point of view for planning against the guys. Maybe feminist in a way? I'm not complaining. Darker songs include "Mafia Land" (one of my favorites), and "Dreams". While the original version of "Not Tonight" is not supposed to be comical, I did find the chorus a little funny. See for yourself. Jermaine Dupri produces a great bassy beat. More highlights include the two hit singles "No Time" with Puffy, "Crush on You" (which doesn't include kim? weird..) and the very very hot track "Queen B*tch" which is probably the best track on the album. Lil' Cease drops in for "crush on you" and does the whole song. The production is very good for this album. This album does contain some filler, which doesn't make it a 5-star album. But if you want to hear Lil' Kim, stick with this album and this album only.

5-0 out of 5 stars Give It up For The Queen B@#$h!!!!!!!!
this cd is tottally amazing along with her Junior M.A.F.I.A family, Puff Daddy, Track Masters and The Notorious B.I.G this debut record from the self proclammed "best" female rapper is one that won't be out of your sterio system anytime soon. from tight verses, guest artists, background music and production she proves she'z gonna stay in the game for a long time. From the dirty, and sexual "intro in a minor" to the Junior M.A.F.I.A conqured "**** You" she proves so much.

Showing off her rapping ability is the first actual song besides the intro on the album the track that probably gets played the most on this cd for anyone "big momma thang" featuring a tight rap verse from "Jigga" jay-z and a unforgetable hook from the brother of kim lil' cease. the next song on the album is the first single "no time" which features the mega man and now probably the most known rapper Puff Daddy who also produced and help right the track. this song paved her path by making it reach high status on billboard charts, and music video stations and also was on many rap complintations such as the clean version on the ultimate hip hop party.

next song on the album entitled "spend a little doe" features a powerful hook performed by Adilah and an intro performed by Big Troy. the song is very long but makes a impact not soon to be forgoten. the following is a useless interlude performed by lil' cease, trife, and notorious big

the next single is the sixth track on the album entitled "crush on you". this song brought a large disapointment amoung the audience because kim has no vocals in the song but bigge and lil' cease take center stage and make this club joint a perfect touch for the album, next up on the magnificent line up is "drugs" which features a hook by the notorious b.i.g and is the most catchy song. the background music will get you hooked because "it's drugs baby"!!

next up kim's ladies talk it out with kim on the interlude called "screamin" in which no screaming takes place followd by the best song of the decade "Queen B@#$h" which features the original position of the background music which was made famous on the Mary J. Blige/Lil' Kim song "i can love you"

hitting number ten is the amazing "dreams" which is just downright nasty and sexual but very awsome! this song is cool because kim flowz sick on this one proving she could keep up the pace without the JM!up next is another great song called "mafia land" which describes her drug-currier dayz working for the notorious b.i.g

next up is the junior mafia song "we don't need it" which is featured on the album because of kim'z longer and strenuos appearence. another song followz this one that would make the remix become the number one song of the summer "not tonite" which features the annoying "JM ya'll" background by JD

the last two tracks on the album are really good. "playa haters" is another interlude but "**** you" is probably the most hardcore song on the album. Trife, Notorious B.I.G and Laurceny make the appearence making you itching for a 16th song but no luck.

4-0 out of 5 stars Definitely HER BEST
Lil' Kim is a real good rapper. Her voice and unique rhythm of rhymes made her a real hardcore lady of New York during the 90's; especially during the time she was under the guidance of her late mentor, Frank White. She was definitely one of the unparalleled divas of rap at that time. Ever since Biggie died though, her themes haven't been as strong as before, but her lyrics are still strong.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Debut
Lil'Kim put herself on the map after this was released. It's quite x-rated, but extremely funny. She shows just who she is and does a good job at it. "Big Momma Thang", shows her hardcore ryming skills, and is the best dance track on the album. "Drugs" is also a funny track. Lil'Kim expresses her fantasies about many R&B singers on "Dreams". There are also other good songs such as "QB", "Not Tonight" and "M.A.F.I.A. Land". The last track, "FY" shows Lil'Kim's incredible flow.

This ablum is definitely the best album to come from a female rap artist, in the late 90's.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ha, Ha so funny
I love kim. This album is so clever. she enters the album saying "I used to be scared of the (...), now i throw lips to the (...). This is such an effective way for her to enter the album. simply a classic ... Read more

"As pop as we may seem," argues Damon Dash, "Roc-A-Fella's just a real famous underground label." This might sound silly coming from the man behind platinum-plus Jay-Z and his pretty-boy protégé, Memphis Bleek, but the State Property soundtrack, which features Beanie Sigel and his Philly family, actually supports this argument. Aside from some off-key harmonizing on "Sun Don't Shine," State Property is low on gimmickry and thick with street-level raps, as befits the 'hood movie it supports. Each member of the crew is awarded ample mic time, but it's Freeway who makes the biggest impact. His solo track, "Goodbye," is built around an old-school sample and features an emotionally charged flow that sounds like a cross between Ghostface Killa and Jay-Z himself. --Rebecca Levine ... 5-0 out of 5 stars One bangin' (...) CD
It's rare when soundtracks are tyte, but when I borrowed it, I loved it, gangsta beats, and Beanie and Freeway blazin. These are my ratings
1.Roc the Mic:Well, how else can I say it? This is the hit, and it's bangin' 10/10
2.Sun don't shine:Nice beat but needs better street rappers 6/10
3.It's no right:With Freeway in da mix, it's hard 4 dis 2 go wrong, except the beat needs a tune up 8/10
4.Mami do u wan't me:A gangsta love joint. It makes a great song in many diffrent ways. 9/10
5.Sing my song:I loved dis song when I first herd it. Street rappers and a streetbangin beat 10/10
6.No Glory:Beans makes a great story, but couldave used a better beat 7/10
7.B**** N****:This song is strait off da hook son! 10/10
8.Why must I:I don't know why, but I'm not really fellin dis song 5/10
9.International hustler:Da best song off da whole thing. Freeway blew up on dis 10/10
10.Hood I know:Needs a better beat, but Beanie and Freeway made it good 8/10
11.Got nowhere:Another Freeway and Beanie banga 9/10
12.Trouble man:I'm not really into dis 4/10
13.Don't Realize:Beanie had to blow up at somepoint, and he saved the 2nd best for last, and he didn't make the CD weak at the ending 10/10

Anyone looking for a ROC blast then here it is. Try out Cam's CD, and Noreaga's too. But I can't wait till Freeway cumz out wit a solo title, cuz he da best on dis whoole thing, right in front of Beans.

3-0 out of 5 stars s-t-a-t-e-p-r-o-p-e-r-t-y
when you doubted and didn't think beanie sigel's boys would come out hot, you was proved wrong. this album is blazing hot, and not mainstream or commercial rap at all. this album is so hot, even though its so street/gangsta rap, it still managed to come out with a music video. the video that they came out with was probably one of the hottest if not the hottest track of 2002...Roc the mic. beanie sigel and freeway teamed up in roc the mic and they flowed over a real laid back hot beat. roc the mic was the perfect formula lyricially and the beat to be a hot track. the rest of the album, the boys of state property attempt to shine and show people their mc skills. not to many other standout tracks, but their is...to tell you the truth, if this album is not in your collection, then you should get it.

5-0 out of 5 stars one of the most authentic rap groups ever
The soundtrack to State Property is a rarity these days. Those who have been mislead into thinking that Rocafella is a pop label because of the commercial success of Jay-Z ought to listen to the soundtrack. Quite possibly, State Property is the grimiest street album to emerge in years. There are no boy-girl collabo's (cough cough Ja Rule!)and no bling bling songs. Those raised on music from Ja Rule and Fab. will not be able to relate to this music, which is partly the reason the album did not enjoy too much commercial success. Yet, State Property further confirms Rocafella's increasing relevance in the rap game.

5-0 out of 5 stars really tight
I luv this one, it contains them State Property Boys only: Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Oschino & Sparks, Young Guns Chris+Neef.
there's a lotta standout tracks like GOT NOWHERE, TROUBLE MAN, IT'S NOT RIGHT, NO GLORY, INTERNATIONAL HUSTLER and ROC DA MIC.
a MUST-BUY fa sho!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Movie and Soundtrack
I really liked the both. It was like a documentary on Beanie Siegel. It may of been but do you really think Beans would be singing today if it was. The soundtrack was great with some extreme songs and the movie was great along with it all. The movie was great because of the performances and acts.

If I would have to refer a same topical movie, it would be 8 Mile, a bio documentary close to the life of Eminem becoming a white rapper. Check them both out and you will enjoy it. ... Read more

Some artists take years between CDs, and some just keep spitting them out. Put Nasir Jones in the latter category, as his fourth album is his second of 1999. Judging by the title and the semi-apocalyptic tone of many of the tracks, Nas has millennium tension and then some, but his fears and prophecies are all stuck in the same old--and by now played out--ghetto melodramas that have become the leitmotif of hip-hop. Nearly every track concerns the life on the streets, the Game, the 'hood, the mayhem and murder, and Nas's muse and old stomping grounds, the QB Projects. Not that Nas doesn't have something to offer on any of the above topics. You can, through the often clumsy production, hear fiery glimpses of the young child-poet who burst on the scene in 1994 and was instantly heralded as the successor to Rakim. But as one might expect from a disc that arrives seven months after its predecessor, Nastradamus seems half thought out, with Nas conflicted between glorifying the thug life and trying desperately to issue a cautionary tale. As always, the best cut is when Nas joins forces with DJ Premier, who may be incapable of a bad beat. "Come Get Me" is the nearly perfect marriage of voice and rhythms, and like the equally solid "Some of Us Have Angels" (produced by Dame Grease), shows why Nas--even with his shortcomings and missteps--can never be slept on. Now if he would just take a break and find new inspiration. --Amy Linden ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a great album!
This CD is one of the best and best produced albums of the year. No it is not "Illmatic" but u can't compare the style of the Nas on "Illmatic" to the style Nas brings today. In 1994 he came hard with the gangster street mentality of "Illmatic" (like NY State of Mind, Represent, One Love, One Time 4 your Mind and pretty much every other song on "Illmatic") all those songs brought out the message of thug mentality and ghetto survival. But you cannot call "Nastradamus" wack. He diversified his style to reach all perspectives of his mentality every song had a personality of Nas. "Life We Chose" and "Project Windows" were about the streets and the hood... "Shoot 'em Up" and "Family" were the gangsta style tracks he brought out on "Illmatic" "God Love Us" and "Some of us Have Angels" hit the message about the lord and good and evil..and "New World" was a track that made you think about where life is going and how we should progress thru it (not some bs Y2K message that people think it is). This is Nas's most diverse album where he shows all the aspects of his style. This is not "Illmatic" but it is definitely a CD u should get. Nas did not fall of he is diversifying his style. This piece is packed with poetic technique that is not in any other album out right now. Definitely purchase this Cd.Nastradamus is not the greatest rap album ever made, but it is very good. People keep expecting him to be the same Nas as he was on Illmatic. That is just not gonna happen. I think that Nas is better now. He has matured and now raps about more important things in life. He can't rap about how hard he is because he doesn't live that life anymore. He would be fake if he rapped about how he hustles and stuff because he doesn't! If Nas were to be like he was on Illmatic, people would still have something to complain about. Biggie changed between his two albums and no one said anything because he died. If Nas died, all of these albums would be considered classics because of the lyrical content. The production is up to date. I don't want to hear the same sound of 1994. While "Nastradamus" is not quite as good as "I Am", is comes real close. Nas is the best rapper right now, no question about it. He has a great style but is not getting the fame he deserves.

4-0 out of 5 stars Mixed feelings
Obviously, I gave it a 4 so I like it. But still, it just doesn't compare with cd's like illmatic, lost tapes, and so on. song by song...
2)Life we Chose - 8/10 - Solid song with cool chorus and kinda sets up the album
3)Nastradamus - 8/10 - Great 1st single, doesn't seem to be as mad as the rest but good.
4-5)Some of us have angels/Project Windows - 5/10 - I just can't warm up to these songs, i listen over and over but i just dont like them
6-7) Come Get Me/Shoot 'em Up - 10/10 - Some of nas' best material, come is just solid from start to finish, shoot 'em up doesnt seem like nas but is lyrics are showed off well here
8)Family - 6/10 - Just not a big fan, i'd rather heard more nas
9) Last Words - 7/10 - Not much to say, ok, just doesnt do much but keep the cd together.
10)God Love Us - 8/10 - Chorus makes the song that good, good beat
11)Quiet N**** - 4/10 - It's the Bravehearts and like "Zone Out" on God's son, this is the worst song I think.
12)Big Girl - 9/10 - Nas raps some of his best, shows off his talent
13) New World - 10/10 - My favorite song, Just great lyrics and I love the chorus
14)You Owe Me - 7/10 - Just not a fan. I'll listen to it but just doesnt live up to the first single
Overall - 8/10 - Not his best but some songs are some of his best work.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best hip-hop albums ....
IF you ain't got this classic masterpiece, then you're not a true hip-hop fan.

3-0 out of 5 stars You should have it, if u like Nas
Don't believe everything you hear about this album. I think this LP is just as tight as any of Nas's earlier albums. I'm not saying that Nastradamus is his best album, but it is just as good as any of the other ones. It's hard to make a classic album, It's even harder to make four. There are a couple weak songs on this CD so that's why I gave it 3 stars instead of 5. Songs like Nastradamus, Some Of Us Have Angels, Big Girl, and You Owe me, ruin the album. But Nas makes up for those songs in Life We Chose, Come Get Me (Diss to Cormega), Shoot 'em Up, and Family f/ Mobb Deep. Over all this album should not be missed, if you like Nas. His is just doing what every rapper does, fall off, but Nas didn't completely fall off in this album. He still has some of his good qualities he had in his previous three albums.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, But his most dissapoiting album ( 3.5)
After nas released the classic "I am" I was very excited to see what Nas would come out with, while it's not on the level of "i am" and some songs seems half thought out, but there are a number of songs that really show why Nas has some inredible skill as an artist and a rapper, " come and get me" is one of Nas's best songs and the equally soild " life we chose" and "shoot'em up", this album is worth your money if you're a fan of nas and hip-hop

Production: beats 8/10..... lyrics 9/10
Favorite songs: life we chose, come and get me. ... Read more
