nothing like worldbeat, but it grows on you
mr. huff, I suggest you interject a stronger melody to your sandpaper percussion sounds..otherwise it comes off like a weak bass&drums effort..maybe a remix to lift the keyboards volumes is all that it needs..I gave your worldbeat an excellent review, but this isn't quite on the same level.. ... What were they thinking?
Why in the world would you release a audio workout tape and have a..., completely non-relevant counting track ruining the score? Buy this only if you want to be tortured or enraged while working out.

Dance to the music, not quite what I expected
I bought this record in order to do the class with a girlfriend so we can keep track of time and have a beat to follow. The music is fine, the beat OK. We did not like the stops between songs, other records have non-stop music. But the big disappointment was the woman counting and giving instructions for the exercises. Both my girlfriend and I are Spanish speakers and though we understand English had difficulty understanding the instructions particurlarly because there is no guide for whatever exercises this lady is doing.

Aerobic Workout
I was not impressed by this tape. Perhaps in a video it would be better, but I doubt it. It was difficult to follow and the instructions were minimal instead of being thorough for a sound only presentation. Much of the beat seemed off for the exercises. ... Read more

Probably my favorite yoga cd of all time-
Bought this quite a while ago, and I love it. It's a great practice. Relaxing, but not easy. This isn't a watered down yoga practice the way many tapes and cds for the general market are. It's real yoga, and the poses are held for quite a while. Very likely not as long as in class, but really- that would depend on where you go to class, now, wouldn't it? She does a great job of wringing out your back and shoulders, which always makes me a much more relaxed kinder person.

One thing Ana Forrest does is have you choose an area where you wish to concentrate your effort for this practice. This works quite well for me, as it increases my concentration, and reminds me why I am following her practice.

If you are looking for Power Yoga- this is not it. She has her own style, and it is not a flowing yoga practice. Which does not mean that the poses do not flow well, for anyone worried that the practice itself is not well planned. It is- and beautifully so. It's also not an easy restorative practice. In my mind it's what yoga should be, but so often yoga tapes fall short of this goal.

This is available as both a tape and a cd, and both are the same practice. There is enough info on the cd that you don't need the tape to figure it out. And, of course it's nice to have a cd, in case you don't have a TV/VCR in your yoga room. ... Read more
