Sophomore Album Jinx?? NO WAY!
This is the one CD I was waiting for at the store when they put it on the shelf. Jay starts out like gangbusters with the hit "Ven A Mi". The music store only had the cassette version and I literally wore out two cassettes before the CD came in. "Corazon", "Amar Asi" and "Si Te Portas Mal" are the best tracks on the cd. PERIOD. The accordion on "Si Te Portas Mal" is some of the best squeezebox I have heard in a long time. Jay proves with this sophomore effort that he is here to stay and that he is truly......"The Voice".

Flaco Jimenez holds his place as the "Squeeze Box King"
Flaco Jimenez has always been a pioneer in the world of Conjunto and Tejano music with his incredible musicianship and unique stylings .He is famous for blending the traditional Tex-Mex and Tejano style music by adding flavors of country and Rock and Roll guitar. I listened to Luis Miguel since he started I am his age and I have followed him ever since maybe if you listen to him for the first time this is not your record. This is for the fans that followed him since childhood. He was great when I was 12 he is even better now. This record brings back memories of my first love and I think it does the same for other fans...

Great example of Intocable's talent
This is a great album, for those who are fans as I am.For those others I do not think that this is the place to publicize your prejudices or thoughts on the Mexican race and/or their music, which if I may add, there are many varieties of, not just norteno music as Intocable sings.

great songs, poor recording
This would have been a great show to have witnessed. Very few live recordings have the quality of sound that we are so accustomed to these days and this is no exception. This recording does convey the spirit of the event and the sheer enjoyment of the musicians in performing. Hopefully their studio recordings have the same good qualities and good recording as well. That is what I am purchasing next and advising whoever reads this to do.

Great Music!!
Since I live in Austin, Texas, I was one of the lucky ones that was able to attend both shows from which this album was recorded. As with most live CDs, the recording cannot meausre up to the live show, but the music on this CD is great.

I agree with Amazon's review that it tends to skip around too much. I don't understand why they don't just put the songs in the order the band played them. (Nothing was better than them opening the show with the "tornado" sound and "Hey Baby Que Paso?" but here it is the last track). However, this is the only fault I can find with the CD and I will listen to it for years to come.

My only other hope is that there is a Volume 2 on the way!! ... Read more

Perfect compilation!
This is brilliant! It isn't just a compilation with all the songs from the albums, you also have live tracks and mixes! I like the relaxed version of 'Yo fui aquella' almost as much as the one on '17 super exitos'. And 'No quiero saber' sounds a little more modern on here. The songs 'Fotos y recuerdos', 'Cien anos', 'Si una vez', 'Techno cumbia' and 'Munequito de trapo' are my favourites and the English songs are beautiful. In fact the whole album is great, and my only complaint is 'El chico del...' as it was on the first volume. If you are a beginner to Selena buy this and volume 1. They are both as good but volume 1 has a wider range of her music styles, '17 Super Exitos' also highly recommended! Even if you speak little or no Spanish! I don't speak it that much but love the songs just as much anyway! Hearing her beautiful voice and music really makes you cry and i wish so much she was still alive.

An extremly emotional CD to listen to, well worth any price!
Selena continues to outshine all other Latin Artists even 5 years after! The songs on this CD are really great, and range from Cumbias, to rock,Mariachi and Pop! What is great about listening to Selena's "All My Hits" collections is that you are able to appreciate how talented she was becuase there are so many different styles of music there.

Like "All My Hits -- Todos Mis Exitos", this CD continues to spotlight the best of the best, which makes these CD's so enjoyable.

My personal favorites are Enamorada de Ti, Cien Anos, Techno Cumbia and Fotos Y Recuerdos. Oh, and the LIVE tracks are incredible, Selena had the greatest voice ever!

The "All My Hits" series are a must have for every Selena fan! Worth more than 5 stars!

Not too good.
I agree with the last reviewer, this CD is no good at all. I got it as a graduation present. Heard the whole thing a couple times and didn't like it. All the songs are played out. Some of the songs have a new twist but who cares? I liked Selena's "Live" and "Entre a Mi Mundo" CD's in which she displayed a great deal of talent but it's hard for any artist to stay on top for very long and I really think that by the time the "Amor Prohibido" CD was released she was pretty much out of ideas. Can't imagine this CD earning 5 stars from any honest and objective reviewer.

I'm a Selena fan..
I am a fan of Selena's older music and I think it's too bad that none of these compilations that have been released in the last few years have any of her rancheras. Most of her fans only became fans after she died and probably think that all she sang were cumbias. Songs like Yo Te Amo and Amame are slammin'. It's also too bad that her father is using her name and fame to get rich. I wish he'd stop because she needs to rest in peace. (And were any of you people that have given 5 stars to this album her fans before she died?) ... Read more

Pura Música Mexicana
This album is a wonderful example of the kind of music you hear all along the border between Mexico and the United States. It's unique in that you don't hear the music contained in this album in Mexico nor do you hear it in the states. It also contains music called "Chicken Scratch" from the Tohoho O'Odham tribe whose reservation fronts on the Mexican border. This is a great album. ... Read more

Solamenta Alejandro
I absolutely loved this production. I can honestly say that of all the "new wave" Charros, Alejandro is the only one that could pull something like this off. Pepe Aguilar is good, Pedro Fernandez is good, Pablo Montero is nowhere in their league, but only Alejandro has the vocal talent to do all these songs of true legends. I truly believe that we are blessed to have someone like Alejandro to interpret a lot of the excellent music that comes out of Mexico. My father and mother were lucky to see Vicente Fernandez and Juan Gabriel grow to superstardom, and I have to say, Alejandro is our chance to see someone grow into superstardom. The first disc is impressive because Alejandro does what I thought only Luis Miguel could do: Sing some classic boleros. BUT what I really liked was the second disc. The songs he performs are the epitome of classic mexican music. I really like that you can hear that beautiful voice of his when he sings songs like "Un Mundo Raro", "Cuando El Destino", and "Amaneci en Tus Brazos". Equally impressive was the fact that he covered my two favorites in Vicente and Juanga. I heard him sing the Vicente songs in Concert, and I was wondering if I would ever be able to hear it on a recording. Well, here they are! I'd just like to hear him do "My Way"/"A Mi Manera", as he did at the Universal Amphitheatre two years ago. Overall, a great disc that celebrates mexican culture and a great tribute to the great performers of the past!

Alejandro Fernandez Has The Most Beautiful Voice I Have Heard Come From A Man!! This Live Cd Is Amazing, The Production Is Flawless & The Range Of Songs Are Glorious!! Great album

Magnifico!
Alejandro reaches for the stars and finds them in this magnificent live performance, extending his talent into classics. He shows he is as much at home in a tuxedo as in a charro suit. His usual almost breathy (and very sexy) voice here gives way to a more heroic sound, especially in his superb rendition of "Granada", which would please anyone who has enjoyed versions previously recorded by opera singers. Worth owning for that track alone, although the rest are also marvelous. "Perfidia" and "Besame Mucho" are particularly noteworthy and whet the appetite for more. A concert with no "filler."

Excelent (A must have for all true music lovers)
This new CD of Alejandro Fernandez is a must have. His voice sounds better than ever and the songs on this live production are all classics starting with Lara ending with Juan Gabriel.
Going from famous boleros to unforgatable rancheras. Cien Anos De Musica Mexicana is a travel through mexican music of the 20th century is just magnificent. Its worth mentioning that Alejandro's voice sounds very mature and beatiful. The U.S. Grammys should open the stage for Fernandez to show his talent singing Granada as it was done for Ricky Martin and Alejandro Sanz ;he deserves an opportunity on that stage. ... Read more

Very good.
Sure the music is old, but the older the better. I happen to like Chente's older recordings better than his new ones. This is one of the best. I remember when I heard "Cuado Yo Queria Ser Grande," I loved it. Before I bought this album I've onlt heard it with his son, Alejandro. Also, "Y Me Acorde De Ti" is nice too.

I love this recording
I have a lot of Vicente Fernandez recordings and this is one of my favorites. Most of the songs are old but I love them. His voice is fabulous as ever. He has a voice that can make any song beautiful. The song " Cuando yo queria ser grande " is especially touching and beautiful. Alejandro dedicated this song to him in their live recording " Un vivo juntos por ultima vez " ( Another "must have" recording for a Vicente fan )

One of Chente's finest!
Yes the music on this CD is old. It's also a very fine group of songs. When you combine good songs with the great voice of Vicente Fernandez, you can't go wrong.
Of my fifteen Chente recordings, this one ranks near the top. There are a couple of his well known songs (Senora de Tal, El Martes me Fusilan) but I was especially surprised at how strong the rest are.
A very gripping song on this disc is Cuando Yo Quiero ser Grande, which deals with a man watching his father age. La Ruleta is another great tune as is Me Voy Lejos. But really, all of these songs are really good. If you're a Chente fan or like this kind of music try it. It's a great buy, especially for the modest price.
