And the Grammy goes to...
Selena! I love this album because this was one of my early cd that I got from her and I have it with me everywhere that I go I don't leave the house w/o it. Great album she did win a Grammy so that does mean something right. Go get this album now because it might be out of stock who know it only ten years old.

Excellent!!!
This was actually the last Selena CD i got. I have "Amor Prohibido", "Greatest Hits", "Todos Mis Exitos", "Dreaming Of You" and i decided to get a copy of "Selena Live" to add to my collection. I was certainly impressed with her live performance. Selena sounds great and i like the way she says "Corpus Christi" during a few of the songs. My favourite songs from this album are: Como La Flor, Ven Conmigo, Ya Vez, La Carcacha and Tu Robaste Mi Corazon(duet which sounds great) and also No Debes Jugar and La Llamada(although these were not recorded live). In summary i say GET THIS CD YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!

Lo mejor de los idolos mas grandes, Ruben Ramos y LittleJo
This is the best title you could ever find for this cd. I dont think that there is a better one for them. As ironic as those two have been, their's no one in comparison to them. Talk about romantic, this album just makes you cry. It's just beautiful.Romantisim had been lost for a long time and Intocable has recaptured it in a very special way.

Still some of the best norteno around.
The norteno kings deliver with heartfelt ballads like "Ayudame" and "Voy a Tener Que Olvidarla" (which somebody should cover pop style) and give us another winning cumbia with "Para Que Volver." They stay a step ahead of young imitators with their laid-back, cohesive musicianship. But as successful as the Intocable/Jose Luis Ayala/Louie Padilla hit machine is, the group is essentially rehashing its tried-and-true formula of low, soft verses building up to choruses that inevitably contain the song's title. Much of it remains potent and catchy, but a five-star album doesn't play it safe; it takes risks.

The hits were obvious--the eloquent "Amor Prohibido," on love conducted in secret, and "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom," a magical pop tune that could work in any dance club. "Cobarde" and "El Chico" were easy cumbias to like; "Fotos y Recuerdos" was an ironic message on having only photographs and memories left. The best tejano album ever released
Amor Prohibido is a fantastic album,everybody should listen to it to know how incredible was Selena. All albums released by selena were great, but this one is special because her voice is more beautiful than ever, and we can listen to many styles of music, such as Cumbia, Rock and Mariachi.It`s also good to remember that all musics from Amor Prohibido were very succesful.It`s very difficult to tell what song is the best, because all of them are fantastic, but my favorite one is "No me queda mas",the best Mariachi ballada Selena has ever sung in my opinion, followed by "Si una ves" and "Fotos y recuerdos", songs we can listen to all day long without wanting to stop. yes, the last Selena album before her death is a must and all people who want to know her music should buy it immediately.

This was surely the greatest!
I loved this CD!When I first bought it from "On Cue" in Troy, I was so excited! Selena's truly beautiful picture on the cover alone was so inviting. Now, "No Me Queda Mas" is such a relaxing, and mellowed groove, that I truly enjoy while I'm driving. Another one of my favorites is "Si Una Vez." It has such a "rough,ragged, tough-Selena," feel to it. She was truly the "tough-girl." My absolute favorite song on this album was "Ya No." It had a little "Chris-Perez," in it. It has such a "husband and wife" feel to it.I've never heard rock and Spanish before, but this was a great combination. "Creo que esta cinta es muy bien!!!!! Y Selena, yo te amo!!!!!!!" END

Selena Selena Selena!
My favorite singer of all-time flourishes with this piece of Latin history called AMOR PROHIBIDO. Her most recognized Tejano recording boasts charming pop/Latin tracks like "Amor Prohibido" and Selena's very own penned "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom", and the ballady "No Me Queda Mas". I give this album 5 out of 5 stars because it shines poignantly like no other of Selena's Latin CDs! It's not hard to guess why Selena would've been up there with the likes of Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin. This is a Classic and a MUST BUY in my mind - and I'm not even Hispanic! She rules.

My first ever Selena cd
First of all I love this cd to death it was the first Selena cd I bought before I bought Dreaming of you. My favorite track is Ya No number 10. All you have to do is listen to the cd and see why this women was so important to her fans. She always put her all into everything she did. How I know is by listening to this cd and I'm not lying to y'all just listen and you to will become a Selena fan.

Deserved more than what it got.
If this cd was released in 1989, he would be right up there with Clint Black and Alan Jackson. But unfortunately this was released after all the fake country singers had came out and he got thrown in with them. This is a pure country album, complete with shuffles and plenty of steel guitar. After this cd, the quality of his music dropped, so grab this while you can and enjoy.

Excellent Vocals, Very Catchy Tunes!
I don't think Rick Trevino has yet to receive the credit he deserves. This is an excellent album, well worth every penny. From his wonderful ballads (She Can't Say I Didn't Cry) to his upbeat two-steps (Doctor Time) this album has it all! I can't give this album enough praise. Buy it!

The singer doesnt need a lot of extras.
I first heard Rick Trevino on the Crook & Chase show with just his guitar. His voice was so beautiful that I had to have this album. It is one of my favorites. Beautiful Music By A Master & His Friends
If you have enjoyed any of the many records Mr Jimenez has lent his talents to in the past, you CANNOT go wrong with this one....a great selection of songs, I would certainly like Flaco Jimenez to get attention for what he is: a national treasure.

"Love Me Do" is fun and the title song "Sleepytown" is like a long-lost classic. Trust me, you will play this one over + over.

Head For The Border
This seems to be more about Dwight and Buck than Flaco. For most of the cuts, Mr. Jimenez (surely one of the most sensitive, electrifying performers in the Tex/Mex genre) appears only to be serving as a back-up musician for Yoakum, Owens, and a number of other not-very-interesting talents. This one fails on a number of levels - there is no cohesive musical theme, the songs and arrangements are lackluster, and there is not one rousing or compelling number on the whole disc.

Flaco's skills are drastically under-utilized here. Que lastima (what a shame) indeed.

Wonderfully fun!
Flaco Jimenez and friends have offered the world a very lively CD! Although I love the remake of the Beatles' "Love Me Do," and the honky-tonk fun of "A Little Drink, A Little Dance," I think that Flaco Jimenez's talents shine brightest on "Desiree" and "Amor."

The world's Best Accordionist
I have listened to Mr. Jimenez CDs, and I am very impressed! But this one seems to be one of his best. When you get Dwight Yoakam and Mr Buck Owens, Lee Roy Parnell and Mr. Flaco JImenez Together, it is quite a combination. MY favorite song is LOVE ME DO , AS IT goes back to The Beatles, and my Dad and Mom were and are big fans of them. All of the songs are great and tell a story, as most country songs do. AMOR, is a beautiful love ballad and I believe will go big with the latin market, also BAILA lA GENTE, (CUMBIA/SALSA) But personally I love all the country/Rock that is in this CD. It is a must have for all of Mr. Jimenez's fans, and if they are not fans, they will become fans. Mr. Nunie Rubio, does a great job as lead vocalist. The most respective album of Selena
In 1992 Selena released Entre En Mi Mundo {Welcome To My World in English} that became so popular with Selena fans all over the world not because of great selling standards but was the first Selena album to have "Los Dinos" disappear from the album cover. The album starts with the Mariachi styled Si La Quieras which by the way is a tipical Mariachi song that is real Selena. Como La Flor will always be a Selena classic and is featured here in it's original version. Track three is a cumbia styled track which is oh so flavorful. Que Creias is a lovely ranchera styled track which you can really actually hear Selena's voice in her highest register. A shorter version can be heard on the 12 Super Exitos cd. Las Cadenas is a fun song which was Selena's biggest hit from this album and is also on the earlier mentioned 12 Super Exitos cd. But the highlight song is Missing My Baby in it's original version. This song was rereleased as a single one year after her farewell. The only song I think should've been a single is Amame now that song is one of Selena's real dance singles. Amame to me is a good song but truth is harkens to sound like a Selena version of Karyn White's song Secret Rendezvous in Spanish. But other than that flaw a simply GREAT Selena album. ...

Solo Selena debuts
This was the first album released that names Selena as a solo performer. Her band, The Dino's, were still very much a part of this and all the proceeding albums. This selection features some of Selena's biggest and most well known hits like "Como La Flor" and "La Carcacha". An interesting feature is an unreleased English track, "Missing My Baby", which was later remixed for her "Dreaming of You" sessions. We love you Selena!

Great Work from a rare artist
When you first hear this cd I would like you to think you are in the store and meeting her for the first time. You want her to sign you cd. Selena was a artist who is rare because she did things that I don't think artist do these days. When you do listen to the cd listen to it as if you just bought it and you don't know what is on the cd and this could of been the cd you first got of Sel's or not. Well please when you stick this cd in you cd player remember she care a lot about her fans. If you didn't get a change to see the movie, then buy all of her cds then go watch or buy the movie. Just think about her music.

When you start listening, you don't want to stop
As it's usual when we talk about Selena, a great record. All musics are fantastic, and you'll want to listen them everytime. You won't regret spending some money in this record.

"Entre a mi mundo" is one of the best Selena albums, and it`s really impossible not to dance and sing when we listen to songs like "Si la quieres", "Las cadenas", "La carcacha" and "Amame". "Yo te sigo queriendo" and "Vuelve a mi" are great songs also, and even if there is someone who doesn`t like tipical Tejano music very much, it is impossible not to feel the passion that makes Selena`s voice the most beautiful. We can also have fun with such hits like "Como la flor"and "La carcacha", this one became also her first video. "Entre a mi mundo" is a very good album and althought it was released in 1992, it is newer and greater than ever. ... Read more
