Simply the best!
Live, extremely live!!!

If you like Luis Miguel, then you'll love this CD. Not only include his greatest hits but also some Mariachi songs in which he makes a tribute to mexican music. I enjoyed all his romantic and pop songs. This is Luis Miguel's BEST CD and he's definitely the greatest latin artist.

Muy Fantastico! Simply the Best!
I simply LOVE this CD! I have two because I know I will wear one off. If there are any CDs to buy of the talented Luis Miguel, buy this one! No one can do it better than Luis, especially the romantic classic songs and even a great mariachi. I have never seen Luis Miguel live but every time I listen to this CD, it feels like the next best thing. I highly recommend this to anyone who would enjoy listening to a classy, talented and beautiful artist. Luis, te amo mi corazon!

the "true" Luis Miguel
I will always insist that Luis Miguel's talent is first and foremost as a performer. This album proves this. Although I have yet to buy "Vivo", this album features some of LM's finest singing that I have yet to hear. I don't know if it is because LM's range and depth as a singer has grown so much since he recorded the studio versions of many of these songs, or if it is because he simply sings better live. Of particular note, the medley on disc one is incredible. Also, the mariachi tracks on CD two we hear a side of LM fans rarely hear. The mariachi tracks alone make this record a keeper. This is obviously a must for fans of LM, but it is also an excellent first LM record to own.

Dame Mas!

Amazing...
After hearing "Yo Puedo Hacer", I opted to try Montaner's SUMA album.The whole album is just simply amazing - Montaner has a wonderful voice, and it resonates with passion in every song. I especially liked "Verte Dormida"

Enjoyable Latin Romantic Ballads
Richard Montaner has a beautiful voice which he demonstrates well in the selections on this CD.All in all it is quite enjoyable if you're into Latin Romantic songs.If you are a Ricardo fan, you will like this CD.My only gripe is the cost -- its a bit pricey for a rather brief album.

Chris Perez Band- Resurrection- Is Going Straight To The Top
It is about time Chris Perez is recognized for his talent as a musician and song writer. This CD of his work was long overdue. Chris chose the right players to be in his group. John Garza who has this rugged voice that can put anyone in a trance, sounds so amazing. Joe Ojeda whose keyboard playing sounds like something from the heavens! This trio is nonstop on the way to the top! There are 9tracks in Spanish and 7tracks in English. Even if you do not know how to speak Spanish or understand what they are saying,It does not matter this music will have you mesmerized. All songs on here are truly a work of art. But these 5 have to be my favorite. "Noches En Vela", "Solo Tu", "Por Que Te Fuiste", "Lava Caliente" and "Solo Otra Vez" (which has a Zorro feel to it)By the time you get through listening to this CD you may have learned Spanish or want to run out and take a lesson. Chris' guitar playing on this CD is so outstanding that it will have you screaming for more! Good Luck To the Guys With This CD. All I Can Say Is- Keep The Music Coming!!!!!

TRULY AN AWESOME MASTERPIECE!
WOW! I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about buying this album - But Boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise! As always, Chris delivers as one of the best guitar players I have ever heard (this guy can play!) - but I had no idea how he would do as a songwriter. Can this guy write a beautiful ballad or what! The 'rock en espanol' tracks are EXCELLENT! If some of the chords on the Spanish tracks sound a bit familiar to Selena fans, it's because Chris and fellow Dinos bandmember Joe bring their awesome style to this great album! Although his vocal style is great, John could use a bit more fine-tuning on his vocal performances, and bring a little more feeling to the tracks. Only then could he do justice to Chris' superior emotional lyrics. Overall, I absolutely LOVED this album! I would recommend it not only to fans of Rock en Espanol, but to anyone who appreciates truly great music and moving lyrics. For those of you who loved Selena, as I did, it's a wonderful to know that her husband is also just as talented! Who knows what those two could have accomplished together. At the very least one good thing came out of this tragedy - Chris discovered a great talent, and I am grateful he can share this with the rest of the world! Keep on going, Chris! I know even greater things are yet to come for you! Que Dios Te Bendiga! -- Also, for anyone who already has this album - check out track #15 (Alone Again, Or..) After a (long) pause, there is a hidden track after it - A beautiful ballad that I'm sure Chris wrote for the love of his life, his inspiration, Selena.

Most overlooked CD of 1999
I am writing this on May 27, 2003 after having this CD since the week it was released in the summer of 1999 and I still enjoy it very much. I don't understand how Hollywood records could have overlooked this latin rock gem of an album. In today's music world where most albums contain one or two good songs padded with 10 to 15 filler ones, this CD is indeed a "Resurrection" of times when an album was often good all the way through. While my knowledge of espanol needs polishing, it doesn't matter with this CD. Every song is great and is well put together.

Chris shows us that his talent ranks up there with many of the great guitarists of the past 30 years. What prompted me to write this is that I recommended this CD to several co-horts and they have been unable to find it. So I went on-line and indeed discovered that it is nearly impossible to find. I can't believe that in a mere 4 years since its release, this great piece of work is unavailable. As I said before, what was Hollywood Records thinking? I play this CD in my office frequently and nearly everyone comments that it sounds great and they want to know who it is so they can get it.

His new CD "Una Noche Mas" is good, but I am afraid that many who bought "Resurrection" for what it was , Rock en Espanol, will be dissapointed because it is basically an out and out Tejano album containing cumbias and rancheras. I like Tejano myself, but others may be in for a shock.

Moving
Would I like this CD as much if I didn't know the context, that Chris Perez was Selena's husband? Probably not. Without that context Resurrection is effective arena rock -- think Spanish language Bryan Adams-type hooks and vocals, with a little bit of Allman Brothers thrown in here and there. The intro to the first -- and probably weakest -- cut, Resurrection, is truly cheesy and annoying. Things pick up rapidly from there, however. Knowing the Selena tragedy, the best of these songs, both Spanish and English, are not solely what they seem, tales of breakup and yearning sung to a woman leaving; they become Perez's final farewell to Selena, whose death was so inexplicably senseless. Porque Te Fuiste does that double meaning perfectly, as do Noches en Vela, Another Day, and the quietly beautiful hidden track (you need to wait a couple minutes). All this gives the CD a resiliant and unexpected depth beyond its tuneful hooky rock. As another bonus, two wonderful songs -- Shelter (also check out Maria McKee's version of this song) and Alone Again, Or (ditto Love's version from years ago) -- get a Spanish version along with the English at separate points in the album. Easy to get this CD very inexpensively and well worth the effort.

very good cd !!!
Chris Perez is talented , we know it. Some say that Resurrection rocks, that's true, but when some say that it's not a sad album, I do say that "The best I can" made me cry a lot; everytime i listen to i I think of Salinas. The song is very emotional, but i advice to everyone who likes rock music, to buy that cd, it really ROCKS!!! ... Read more

its good music to listen too and dance, which I hav'nt done in awhile. I have listened to Feddy Fender along time ago and with this group I think there great. I have listen to other latin music, but I guess I'm the old fashion type, I grew up listening to my parents music, like the old country western as well. I like that better than the new groups. Increible Romantica
Alejandro is just as awesome as his father (Vicente Fernandez). They both have their own style, but they are both incredible in their own way. I love to see them sing together! If you don't own it I reccommend you buy it while you still can. Te puedo segurar que no te vas awuitar!

Two Thumbs Up from San Antonio, Texas
This CD contains many of the classic hits from both old and new Tejano artists. These artists have made excellent choices in the songs that are included, classics such as Los Nubes and Paloma Negra and El Gato Negro and future classics such as Para Ti and Que Me Quedo by David Lee Garza. Not very good
Even if I liked merengue/ranchera, I still would not like this CD very much. Alicia Villarreal's voice is too high and sometimes squeaky. Also, "Soy Asi" is not a great song. The album is called "Soy Asi" and the band members wear shirts that say Soy Asi, so they must have wanted that song to be one of the "hits" from this CD, but it's not. The only song I sort of like is "Ay! Papasito".

THIS ALBUM IS GOOD BUT NOT LIKE I EXPECTED!
This album is ok... Iremember when the song (Ayi Papicito) came out I loved it so much I just had to buy it I could not wait to get it! But... then of course I got the cd infact I ordered it from amazon.com well... anyways when I got it and played it through it just wasent my kind of thing the musica was ok... I guess but i really thought it and the songs were going to be more like the one song ( Ayi Papicito) but infact the other ones are more mellowed out it is just not one of my favorite cd's hey i'm just being honest with you I mean it's not terrable no there is another song on here that I like called (Soy Asi), actually it is a very good song I like the background music in the song it playes together nicely. But as for the rest of this cd I rate it a 4 out of 5 cause it's just not as i thought it would be. As for the other albums by this group I have never bought any other albums buy them but yes if you would like to know I would mabe would consider trying one of there other albums. If I think you sould buy this cd well I could tell you of somebetter ones...!

Great!
I have to admit that I am not of Tex-Mex descent nor have I ever listened to Tejano or Norteño much previously before but I accidentally heard "Soy Asi" while switching through the radio while on vacation in south Texas and for the next 100 miles I couldn't get this song out of my head! After much searching, I finally found out who did this song (Limite) and after hearing the other songs on the CD, I am amazed that Limite isn't already super famous! The rest of the songs on this album are fantastic, too!

"Soy Asi" by Limite
This album by Limite is the best one yet. They grew so much as a band and now they're producing smash hits like "Ay Papacito", which i have to say is my favorite. They always knew how to make music, but this album is EXCELLENT. "Soy Asi" and every other song makes you think, or makes you wanna dance! Looking for a great album just to have fun listening to? CHOOSE "Soy Asi" BY LIMITE!

Disco de temas de los 80s que suenan perfectos en las 3 voces. Si gusta de temas donde predomina el manejo de las voces, este album es obligatorio. Y si eres fan del trio mexicano, no debe faltar. REMARKABLE!
I think this CD truly conveys the meaning of romance and eternal love and passion. Everytime I listen to it, no matter how many times I hear it, it still gives me goosebumps!His voice accentuates the beautiful lyrics that go straight to the soul,making a reality through music that hopeless romanticism we all hope and strive for, and the orchestra is incredible, professionals in every sense of the word. Congratulations to Luis Miguel and the orchestra on a job definetely well done!

Fantastico
This is by far one of the best cds that I have listen to in a long time. I grew up listening to this music. All the Romance recordings are great but this is problably my favorite because of I have always considered these some of the most beautiful lyrics ever written. Listen to the words on tracks 1 (it's a two songs medley), track 2 (always a spanish favorite). But my favorite is track 4 (La gloria eres tu). This is one of my favorite spanish love songs ever and Luis Miguel does it better than anyone I ever heard. Definitely a song to fall in love by. The whole cd is great the arrangements and orquestration are lush ala Klaus Oggerman. Do yourself a favor and buy it you won't be sorry.

I can't speak spanish but heart does the translation.
Oh how his voice gives me emotional goose bumps.I cannot speak or understand spanish,but my heart takes care of this short coming.The voice is warm,romantic,soothing to my soul with orchestration to die for.To my English speaking friends go ahead and get this classic,your heart will thank you.

Romances
What music, what an artist! My husband and I were at the Radisson in Miami, sitting at the bar and waiting for an open table for dinner. I heard this "music" coming from the speakers, it gave me goosebumps! I asked the bartender who it was singing and he said Luis Miguel. Well, I was hooked from then on. It's been 5 yrs. since that night and I've got I believe just about every CD he's made. I find myself singing along to all the songs, learning & speaking a little Spanish too! The songs he sings in Spanish sound so much more romantic than when you hear them in English, at least I think so. The bartender saw how much I loved the CD, he played it again just for me! I think Luis is wonderul and I plan to see him in concert if he ever comes my way. My husband even likes his songs. I personally would rate this 10 Stars if I could!

Very, very savvy
This is truly an exceptional piece of work. I can see why it was awarded a Grammy. A listener must understand that Luis was one of the primary arrangers of the songs, that is, these are very famous international love songs from a different, more refined time. Each one has been "covered" to relfect Luis' own musical style and interpretation. If you listen carefully or frequently enough, you will hear the subtleties behind each presentation; some are quite delicate in the use of brass or strings, woodwinds, etc. Luis' voice is a classically trained voice and very, very precise.
