5-0 out of 5 stars El Rey!
If the photograph on the cover doesn't convince you that Luis Miguel truly is "the King" of sensuality this cd will. His mezmerizing voice will ease you into candle lit dinners, slow dances and romance, then command you to "feel latin" even if your aren't. . . He'll have you dancing with "a rose between your teeth" swearing that you are!

3-0 out of 5 stars If you Like Nada Es Igual, try Vuelve by Ricky Martin
Nada es igual has to be el mejor CD from Luis since Romance....but he can't come close to the energy that Ricky Martin has on his latest CD Vuelve. Check it out Compa'de!

5-0 out of 5 stars This CD simply stole my heart.
The passion, lyrics, romanticism, voice quality, power ballads just totally blow me away. I wish this CD were available in Karaoke but it is not. This is such a huge CD in magnitude. Big songs with big massive emotions that will sweep you off your feet also. Be bold enough to research what LM is singing about in his songs and You will be enchanted, mesmorized, inspired, lifted up, moved with amorous emotions like I was.

This is definitely one of LM's best CD. Buy it used if you are afraid of paying full price but you won't regret it if you feel emotions at all.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Luis Miguel CD
A year ago I was in a music store in Ann Arbor and saw this beautiful face on a CD. I put on the head phone and although I only speak poor Spanish fell in love with the clearest and most romantic voice I have ever heard. This CD touches every emotion. It has great ballads and dance music and has the type of songs one could listen to over and over and not get tired of. Luis feels the music he sings, not just sings it! I know of at least two people that I am going to buy this CD for at Christmastime. Buy it; you'll love it; and oh my God, all of those great photos inside of one of the most handsome men alive today!

At an age when most performers of their stature are either fading fast or priming for the oldies circuit, Doug Sahm, Freddie Fender, Flaco Jimenez, and Auggie Meyers regrouped and made some of the rawest, swingingest, and most memorable music of their careers. Each member puts a slightly different spin on the Tex-Mex sound and the results blaze back and forth across the boundaries of spicy rock & roll ("Adios Mexico"), Tejano ("Who Were You Thinking Of"), and honky-tonk weepers ("A Man Can Cry"). You don't have to be familiar with Mexican music or the Spanish language to love this album: Its soul knows no borders and rocks right over any resistance. --Roy Francis Kasten ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars You can't lose...
The Texas Tornados are like the reverse of the old big-box-containing-a-smaller-box-containg-a-smaller-box joke that your sister pulled on you when you opened your Christmas present. The band presents you with a brightly-colored package (graphically and musically) that seems somewhat modest at first but over time grows into a dear treasure. The songs unashamedly pluck at all the heartstrings with no apologies and you have to laugh at their brazen chutzpah. The musicians' credentials are voluminous and undeniable. The melding of Sahm-Meyers, Fender and Jimenez is a classic case of the whole being more that the sum of the parts. This Tex-Mex album is the AM-radio soundtrack for a sunny spring day driving south on Interstate 25 with the top down and a couple of shots of tequila just starting to warm your gut. Only the most pretentious or dour of listeners will fail to get a spiritual lift from this little gem. Don't cheat yourself-add Texas Tornados to your road collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars This music will live forever
With the caliber of musicians in this band this music is destined to live forever. How will any other group hope to mach the diversity of the late Doug Sahms, from down and dirty blues to the twangy pedal steel guitar, this home grown Texas superstar will shine forever. This collection of various Tornado tunes highlights well the sound and soul of the TEXAS TORNADOS.

5-0 out of 5 stars Everybody loves this music!
This is always a favorite to share with others on road trips. Everybody loves to sing along! The songs are sad but they make you feel so happy. Buy this album. I've had to replace it a couple of times. Can't say that about too many other items in my music collection. Have purchased it as a gift several times too for the people who've come to love it on camping trips.

5-0 out of 5 stars TU AMOR A TU DESPRECIO
Marco Antonio Solis is my favoire singer of all time.
I don't speak Spanish, but I have 6 of his cd's
This new cd is wonderful, I love it

5-0 out of 5 stars Awsome cd
This is only my second cd from Marco Antonio Solis. The first cd I got was Trozos De Me Alma. His 4th cd is awsome like his third cd but he made it on the radio with like only 1 or 2 songs and then dropped off the radio and I do not know why. The whole cd is awsome. My favoite song on the cd is Se Que Me Va A Dejar. I know you are going to leave me in english. He has a new cd out and my mom heard a song from his new cd but I have not heard anything on the radio so his new cd may not make a splash ethier. I want to bye his 1st cd. His 2nd cd and his 5th cd plus I want to get a greatest hit cd when he was singing with his group. I like the guy. Hes cool. But not as cool as Jerry Rivera. Hes my man. I recommend this cd.

5-0 out of 5 stars Marco and his romantic songs
Eventhough it is different from the Bukis in that he had different rhythms to experiment with, this new cd is still excellent. The lyrics and melodies that made Los Bukis famous are still there. Every song is an excellent song. He could pick any song to be radio-played and it would be a hit. It starts and ends with the best songs in the cd( Cuando te acuerdes de mi and Donde esta mi primavera). My favorite is Boca de Angel. 5 stars cd. I still would like another Buki album or a reunion of some sort.

5-0 out of 5 stars More Marco - superb
Expecting Marco Antonio Solis to improve on his megahit "Trozos de mi alma" would be somewhat akin to waiting for Prince to top "Purple Rain." Probably won't happen. So he does next best--gives his listeners more of what they loved in "Trozos . ." Solis' gentle delivery seems lightyears away from his Los Bukis days, and the public, at least here in Mexico, is absorbing it with gusto. "Boca de Angel" and "Mujeres Solitas" are every bit as compelling as the two REALLY big hits on "Trozos . ."--"Si no te hubieras ido" and "Sigue sin mi." The album seems to tell a story, and the lyrics are written on an attractive insert, good news for those of us who are more used to the clarity of Juan Gabriel's Spanish.

2-0 out of 5 stars You're too young to sound like this, Marco.
Solis remains as formidable a lyricist as ever, but remember when he was more than that? Before, he could be counted on to inject some musical drama, some bombast, some spice. That's what made songs like "Si Me Recuerdas," "Acepto Mi Derrota," and "Morenita" classics. Now all we get are musically indistinguishable ballads with intrusive, ever-present strings. My suggestion: Solis should try a Bernie Taupin/Elton John-type project where he does the lyrics and leaves the melody in the hands of someone with a totally different perspective, like Julieta Venegas. It would certainly produce something more interesting than the geriatric sounding easy-listening he's putting out now. ... Read more

The well of undiscovered material never seems to dry up, even nine years after the death of Tejano queen Selena. Momentos Intimos features the usual hodge-podge of English and Spanish hits ("Amor Prohibido," "Dreaming of You," "No Me Queda Mas"), but it is notable for two newly orchestrated tracks and an unreleased demo recording. Lilting string arrangements and lush horns accentuate "Como Te Quiero Yo A Ti" and "No Llores Mas Corazon," which were obviously recorded early in Selena's career. Still, her mature and nuanced interpretation on both tracks is an unexpected delight. It is "Puede Ser," however, that will attract the most listener interest. The pop-rock tune was reportedly recorded days before Selena's death in her home studio. Even in this unrehearsed demo, Selena's soulful delivery seems effortless and serves as another reminder of her natural talent. With a slightly sharper musical arrangement, "Puede Ser" could have become Selena's latest chart-topper. The album also features spoken liner notes by Selena's family--a bittersweet collection of memories and humorous moments. --Joey Guerra ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great song on lastest Selena release
The unreleased song recorded in her home is a real testament to her talent and I love the song because of the rock sound. Imagine if she had lived she would have been such a superstar! I recommend you buy this CD to me the best song is Peude Ser and I enjoy the liner notes. Very insightful.

5-0 out of 5 stars An amazing and never before heard album
This album is all we have left of Selena. The album contains 2 re-recorded songs, 1 never-before-heard song that she recorded in 1995 before the tragedy. And greatest hits. This CD is a great part for a collector. This is for a Selena fan who had been liking Selena for a while. Otherwise I suggest other albums like "Dreaming Of You", "Amor Phrohibido", or "Entra A Mi Mundo". I highly recommend "Anthology" it has many great Selena hits. ... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The CD for anyone wanting to explore Spanish Artists at best
About 7 years ago I was listening to the radio changing stations and came across a spanish station with the most beautiful song playing...I listened to it...not knowing what it meant...waited to find out the name and didn't understand it either lol...went to work and sang a few lyrics of the song and someone told me it was Hasta Que Me Olvides by Luis Miguel...I immediatly went and got the album and the WHOLE album was awesome...this is a must get for those who have never listened to spanish music...this man is awesome...has the most beautiful voice

5-0 out of 5 stars Upbeat pop album
This is one of my favorite Luis Miguel albums. Great, upbeat pop music. A must.

5-0 out of 5 stars ándale!
Born on April 18/19, thus the title of 'Aries' Luis Miguel's fun, fast paced, soft rock hit songs such as "Suave," "Luz Verde," "Que Nivel de Mujer" and "Dame Tu Amor" are tempered by his famous romantic Spanish love ballads. . .HEY! 6 singles from this CD entered the Mexican 100 hits simultaneously! ándale! ándale! Mi Luis!

5-0 out of 5 stars Gold!
On this CD Luis records one of the greatest hits of his career: "Hasta Que Me Olvides." His work with Juan Luis Guerra is simply inspirational on this track, making the song rank among the great masterpieces of pop ballads. The CD also boasts "Ayer," another fantastic ballad. The uptempo "Suave" and the creative "Luz Verde" provide balance between the ballads. The record remains powerful years after its recording.

5-0 out of 5 stars Luis Miguel's best one/Esto es lo mejor de Luis Miguel
Este disco es lo máximo / This recording is the top! / Los arreglistas y compositores, y la interpretación de Luis Miguel son soberbios / Composer, arrangers, and performances are superb / Romance es un buen regalo para quien disfruta ese tipo de musica, pero definitivamente lo que hace de Luis Miguel el mejor cantante en idioma español de todos los tiempos es la balada pop / "Romance" is OK if you like that kind of music, but what makes Luis Miguel the best of all times in spanish are his pop ballads. Latin crooner-dreamboat Luis Miguel reached a creative impasse on his last studio album, 1999's Amarte Es un Placer, which simply recycled the same swooning sounds and themes of his previous collections. Vivo, Miguel's latest live recording, includes five songs from that mediocre album, but Miguel manages to inject them with a surprising vitality. He shines on the medleys, which feature 17 songs from Miguel's three albums of smoldering love songs. Even the most canned studio recordings ("Como Es Posible a Mi Lado," "Quiero") come alive onstage, thanks to Miguel's wonderfully rich and expressive voice. Vivo also includes two previously unavailable tracks, "Y" and "La Bikina." Miguel brings a passionate energy to both mariachi classics. The album's biggest testament to "Mickey's" talent, however, is his fans, who scream, sing, and swoon from beginning to end. --Joey Guerra ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Class act personified
Luis Miguel is and will always be my favorite of the Latino "hearthrobs". Before Ricky, Enrique, Marc Anthony and the rest Luis Miguel has always been there with his legion of fans, just ask Daisy Fuentes. No longer a boyish stud who could sing he has grown to be a man of tremendous talent who just happens to be handsome, suave and debonair. This is not a "chicks CD" but a great CD for both sexes to enjoy, ideally together. This is even better than 1995's "El Concierto". This "Vivo" CD captures the essence of LM, the voice, the music, the stellar production qualities, the adoring fans, mariachi and orchestra, it's love music with or without a lover. What I've noticed is that LM's voice has matured, he's hiting the peak of a great career. I listened to "Aries" and "Segundo Romance" to compare and his voice has just got better, fuller, richer, and he has more inflection and deeper tonal qualities. He's just getting better and better. Live albums are not my favorites but this CD works as it captures the fans adulation. When he asks " me acompanian"? and the audience joins in it is just beautiful, the crowd responds in harmony, they all sing in unison after shrieking in delight. I've always admired the Mexican crowds ability to sing along with the performer, a mutual love affair between performer and audience, that moment when the performance is synergistic. I can't say enough good things about this CD except to say that love is in the heart and LM's soul unleashes the joy within. This is the music of memories(The Romances) and love's yet to be discovered. Listen to the classic "Sabor a Mi" and if you're not in the mood after listening to this than check your hearbeat. LM swings suavely with his rendition of "Besame Mucho", I can just picture the women going faint in the audience. LM is a class act and this CD reflects his talent. His live performances are legendary. I can kick myself for not seeing him when he was here for numerous sold out shows. I guess next time he comes will be the right time. Until then I'll just listen to this CD and I think I'll even pick up the video performance!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply Awesome!
What can be better than hearing Luis Miguel perform live? Nothing. In my opinion, Luis has one of the best voices in the music industry today, if not ever. This CD was recorded during his last world tour (1999-2000) in Mexico. Included are his most recent songs and his most popular, along with two new Mariachi songs (proving how versatile he is). A must have for Luis Miguel fans and a must hear for everyone else. When it comes to vocals, I don't think it gets better than Luis.

5-0 out of 5 stars Attention Wal-Mart Shoppers!
Beginning this critique I suspect I should elaborate on the review title, though being written very tongue-in-cheek, it does happen to be a retailer that plays prominently in my owning Luis Miguel's wonderful live disc " Vivo. " It was at this particular outlet that I first came across this amazing cd and, since subsequently purchasing it there as well, then I feel, correct or not, that Wal-Mart does deserve some small amount of gratitude in bringing Luis's amazing new cd to my attention. Anyway, this incredible disc and that retail giant will forever be intertwined in that regard so there it is! That being the case....

Say what you will about this Latin superstar ( and plenty has been written....not all being complimentary! ) he certainly knows how to put on a show! While being regarded as a giant in the field of Latin 'pop' he has consistantly released a product that shows a type of 'musical maturity' that belies his relatively young age. Cutting his teeth, so to speak, on 3 excellent discs featuring songs of romance i.e. " Romance ", "Segundo Romance " and " Romances " he has won over the hearts of women the world over. That being the case, it is truly interesting that on " Vivo" the highpoints aren't necessarily the three romance medley's but the slighly more uptempo numbers! Beginning with the startling " Quiero " things get off to a fast start and only slows down moderately with " Tu Solo Tu ", definitely one of my favorites.... in a disc filled with favorites! Obviously the audience is here to listen to Luis sing songs of love ( natch! ) and he doesn't disappoint. Medley No. 1 takes off and the fans are in a state of ecstacy! Generally I find audiences to be slightly intrusive on live cd's but I'm willing to forgo that complaint here....besides I'd probably be yelling too. Other highlight's include, " Suave " another uptempo that really swings quite well, thank-you and " O Tu O Ninguna " a mid-tempo that made me wish I spoke Spanish! Plus, throwing in " La Bikina " a mariachi number that was nominated for a Latin Grammy this year, and you get the idea that things are moving along very nicely! Adding to all this is a band that plays extremely well together and seems to stay with Luis every step of the way. Some of the disc does sound as though perhaps the band is slightly over-rehearsed and that they don't leave much room for any spontinenty but that's a small infraction. And as for LM himself....obviously he's in fine voice and playing the consumate entertainer who is very much at home onstage. An artist who truly knows his audience and here gives all of himself for their enjoyment. And ours! Bravo to Luis and bandmates!

In the end, " Vivo " is simply chock full of great music, wonderful packaging and tons of pictures plus a small booklet as well! I will readily admit that there is a hint of 'Las Vegas schmaltz' incorporated in his shows but I won't fault him for that. A lot of thought went into releasing this product and while many might find it slightly calculating, I find everything very much to my liking. So you may wish to look into having " Vivo " added to your 'musical library' as well. And as to where you locate your copy....well, that's up to you!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Love Ballad Master Continues
First, Luis is the king of what he does.

East-coast based now as I am, I remained shocked when I discover that most people around me still don't know who Luis Miguel is. Perhaps with the influx of Hispanic culture that will soon change, and Luis is the best of that pocket. Once you hear him belt out something as celestial as "Historia de Un Amor", you'll never forget him. He's Old School Romantic, and I hope to God we never lose this sensibility completely to rap, hip hop and formula Mariah-pop.

On this live CD, one discovers that Luis' voice is still getting richer - what is he - maybe 35 now? I didn't think any male voice could top Luis' as demonstrated on "Seguendo Romance" 1994, and none has, except Luis himself. He is still refining his marvelous gift, and that is evidenced herein.

This seems the perfect DVD vehicle, and I'll probably go out finally and buy one as soon as the companion to this CD is available. Luis always puts on a stellar concert with full orchestra and a kick butt ensemble, and the world hasn't seen his kind of stage presence and magnitude since the 50s or 60s.

What is best about this CD - and about Luis - is that for all of his 'old school' stylings, of which he is a master, one doesn't feel like he or she is wallowing in Nostalgia when listening to Luis. He is NOW, and he brings a sensibility worth bringing into the 21st Century to the Present.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best concert ever!
This live cd (and dvd) contains the best live concert ever. Since a few months I have discovered this incredible singer, but I am big fan already. I am playing this cd every day and I hear every time another beautiful aspect of it. And don't forget the band and the tastefull arrangements. Buy it, now! ... Read more

I was raised around Tejano music. Ruben Ramos is an example of what Tejano music was meant too be. Too many of todays bands put too much show and not enough heart in their music. 5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing!
This is the one that got me hooked. Ever since I first heard this in Mexico, I fell in love with the voice of Luis Miguel. Not a note is strained, just pure rich music. These songs are old classics in Mexican culture. This is a cd for those who are looking for a romatic, relaxing atmosphere. My dad even likes it and he doesn't speak a bit of Spanish!

5-0 out of 5 stars Grammy Win ner!
It's easy to understand why this 2nd CD in his Bolero Triligy won Luis Miguel his 3rd Grammy in 1995 and assisted in his being named Best Latin Artist of the Year in 1995 by The World Music Association. His perfect voice alone would sell this album. . .but wait, feel the music (especially the bolero tunes), let the words of these romantic ballads fill your mind - causing your heart to sing - your lips will soon follow for who can resist this Latin King?

5-0 out of 5 stars so smooth and romantic
This great collection of ballads is the second in the "Romance" series, and is performed impeccably by Luis Miguel, who many consider to be the # 1 singer in Latin music today.

The arrangements are lush and lovely, though perhaps because of the absence of producer/arranger/pianist extraordinaire Bebu Silvetti, doesn't have quite the luster of the 1st and 3rd in the series, which he brought his distinctive magic to...nevertheless, it's a delight hearing these songs so beautifully done, some from years gone by like the incredibly melodic "Historia de un Amor". Other favorites include "Sin Ti", and "El Dia que me Quieras" which includes a nifty bandoneón solo (by Jorge Travisano).

I recommend getting this as part of the 3 disc set, "Todos los Romances". # 3, "Romances", is one of my top 10 favorite Latin music CDs, a classic I never tire of, and # 1 includes the amazing "Te Extraño"...each disc the perfect music for reverie and romance, and an example of that rare thing called "excellence".

5-0 out of 5 stars A Latin masterpiece
"Segundo Romance," the CD by Luis Miguel, is an excellent collection of Latin music. All the songs have Spanish lyrics. These songs are mellow, romantic ballads with a lush, classy orchestral backing. Luis Miguel performs each selection with a gentle, but smoldering, passion.

My favorite songs on this disc are "Sin ti," "La media vuelta," and "Delirio." This is a wonderful CD that should come with the following warning: It may cause listeners to start passionately kissing somebody!

5-0 out of 5 stars BEING ROMANTIC IS WHEN LOVE SPARKLES
LUIS MIGUEL IS A KNOWN ROMANTIC SINGER. HIS MUSIC AND PERSONALITY WILL CARRY HIM TO BETTER AND GOOD CARRER. I LOVE HIS MUSIC. I THANK GOD FOR SUCH A PERSON LIKE HIM. AS FAR AS ME IM A VERY ROMANTIC PERSON MYSELF. IM GLAD I HAVE ALL HIS ALBUMS AND WONDERFUL MUSIC. I ALWAYS PLAY HIS MUSIC WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO BEING ROMANTIC WITH THAT SOMEONE SPECIAL. 5-0 out of 5 stars dulce y suave
Honey-sweet singing, lovely melodies, and good production values make this a terrific addition to my Mexican music collection in the "grupo" genre. Los Temerarios have been going strong for over 20 years, and are led by Gustavo Angel (vocals and guitar) and his older brother Adolfo Angel (keyboards). They write all the material and perform it to perfection. If you like this type of romantic balada, Los Temerarios are the best.

The lyrics are all about lost love, and tend to be exceedingly sappy, but are sung with such emotional conviction that it gives them an innocent, naive charm, and musically it is outstanding, making for very satisfying, easy listening.
Though the themes are heartbreak and loneliness, it is a peaceful and uplifting CD; the songs are moderately slow throughout, with a good steady beat, wonderful for background music and an ideal CD to keep in your car, calming the mood even when driving in the crunch of downtown Los Angeles traffic.

Highlights for me are "Enamorada de Ti", "Quise Olvidarme de Ti", and the beautiful "Mi Vida Eres Tu", but there are no weak songs on this CD, and Gustavo's clear, high voice is a delight.
The booklet insert has all the lyrics and diffused photos of the brothers. The sound is first-rate and total playing time 58'07.

The package includes a DVD with eight music videos, lyrics, photos, biographies and discography, which alas, since I don't own a DVD player, can't enjoy or describe, but I'm sure it lives up to the quality of this excellent CD. ... Read more

The border country of Texas and Mexico was largely settled by German immigrants, who gave the towns names like New Berlin and brought their native instruments, such as the accordion, to play the polkas and other dances they loved. Over the course of a few generations, these new Americans and the Mexican cultures mixed, giving rise to the music known as Tex-Mex. Santiago Jimenez, Sr. was one of Tex-Mex's leading accordion players. His son Flaco expanded the genre. His other son, Santiago, Jr., kept his father's tradition very much alive. It's old-fashioned, but it's meant to be. The button accordion takes the lead, backed by 12-string guitar, drums, and bass--which is played here by a special guest, Mark Rubin of the Austin bluegrass band, the Bad Livers. As dance music, this is irresistible stuff. Before you know it, you'll be tapping your toes, and experiencing a desire to grab a partner and start gliding across the floor. And why shouldn't it get to you? This material has stood the test of time. Jimenez puts his own voice into it, but it's essentially the same thing that's thrilled three or four generations. And all those Texans can't be wrong.--Chris Nickson ... Read more

Mexican superstar Thalia has come a long way since her early '90s days as a thin-voiced Latin pop-tart. Her stellar 1997 album, Amor a la Mexicana, was a full-throttle assertion of her maturing talent, thanks in large part to va-va-voom production work from Emilio Estefan Jr. Things heat up even more on Arrasando, the singer¹s most focused collection to date. Thalia and Estefan blend salsa, rap, reggae, cumbia, and aggressive club beats into one irresistible mix. Just try to keep your feet still during the infectious rhythms of "Regresa a Mi," "Pata Pata," and "Siempre Hay Carino." Thalia proves equally adept at ballads, particularly on the majestic first single, "Entre el Mar y una Estrella." The sexy singer has already recorded English-language tunes for overseas release, and now that she¹s dating Sony president (and Mariah¹s ex) Tommy Mottola, crossover success seems only a few hip swivels away. --Joey Guerra ... 5-0 out of 5 stars multi layered wonder
I became a thalia fan when I was watching "Buena Onda" they were talking about how this group was "arrasando" with their new album and they said lo siento thalia and played a tiny snippet of her song, when I heard it I was hooked and went to buy the album. At first I thought the album was Ok at best but then I listened to it more and more and every couple of weeks a new song would jump out at me and I would fall in love with it. this happened until eventually I loved the entire album. I never get tired of it. thalia is the best, no hay nadie q arrase como la thalia!!!! My favorite songs (if I have to choose)are "reencarnacion", "arrasando", "tumba la casa", "rosalinda" and "suerte en mi". This album features some of thalia's best vocals ever. If anyone doubts here singing ability (especially after her english mess of an album) get this CD, it'll change your mind!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun Album
This album is pure fun and has some of Thalia's greatest songs ever. The best songs are the title track, Entre el Mar y Una Estrella, and Rosalinda. The production is great and so are the vocals. Go Thalia!

To celebrate their 10th anniversary, Intocable produced this ambitious double CD as a gift to their loyal fans. Disc One is a 14-track collection of all new songs featuring more of Intocable's strengths--hooky melodies, tight instrumentation and vocal harmonies--evident on "Aire," the first single, and "Soledad." The group injects folk rock rhythms on "Tiempo," a tune about sensing the end in a relationship, and "Es Alguien Mas," on the fear of wasting time with the wrong person. Other keepers are "Ahora Que Te Perdi," a mellow norteño ballad which stands out for its lyrics on the importance of honesty. The narrator regrets his mistake when he songs "No supe valorarte" ("I Didn't Know How To Appreciate You"). The second CD features 11 Intocable tunes recorded by a variety of top artists. Ranchera singer Pepe Aguilar sings "Fuerte no Soy," electronica/rock act Kinky does "Coqueta," reggaeton singer Tego Calderon and rapper DJ Kane offer "En Paz Descanse," and Volovan takes on "Ya Ves." --Ramiro Burr ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Casas de Carton
This album is similar to "En Pleno Vuelo" in sound and style, mostly balads with other types of music here and there. "Tu Par" is a lively, capypso-style number. In "La Venia Bendita" Solis meshes well with Mariachi. Solis surprises the listener with "Casas de Carton," a song that he didn't write and which is not listed but is acknowledged in a personal note by Solis. He also has a video single out of this song, and I wonder if a portion of the proceeds are going to the needy people who live in casas de carton (paper shacks). There's still a Los Bukis sound to this album, but it's clear that Solis is on the road to establishing himself as a solo artist which he does in "Trozos de mi alma," his very best album. Typical of Solis' releases, the lyrics are included (as well as a bunch of pictures of himself).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Album!
What a great album. Every song is a gem and the backup music is perfect. It has all the rhythms of Mexico and a hidden track to boot! You'll love this one if you enjoy easy latin music.

One needs not to understand spanish to enjoy Marco, and especially this album, his feeling, his passion, his overall composition. You don't listen to his music, you feel it, you react to it. Great voice, great music.

5-0 out of 5 stars Marco's music
Marco's music is truly angelic. His truth, his feelings, and his love all appear with every word he writes and sings. If one were to listen close enough one could almost feel his heart with each note he plays. 5-0 out of 5 stars Following his father's legacy
Alejandro Fernandez is one of the greatest singers of modern Mexican music. In my opinion he is one of ranchera's top three, the other two being the immortal Vicente Fernandez and Pepe Aguilar. Alejandro has inherited his father's vocal talents and is an amazing talent. Songs such as "Como quien pierde una estrella" are big hits and have beautiful lyrics. I hope a lot of people buy this and realize what a great singer this man is. Have a great day!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply a great CD!
This CD is without a doubt, one of the best ones I have ever heard. The music has great melody and the lyrics (like every CD from Alejandro) are top of the line. With hits like "Come quien pierde una estrella", this CD is a must. And for those guys who wish to conquer the heart of that special one, the lyrics of "La mitad que me faltaba" and "Que sera de mi" will melt any heart. This is plainly a well-rounded CD, a great CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars In his fathers footsteps
Great CD! "Que Bueno" and "El POtrillo" are great. His voice is packed with emotion, which he inherited from Vicente (One of the greatest ranchera singers ever). His range is excellent, the song selection is tops also. If you like baladas, corridos and old time ranchera but with modern production, then try this, cuz it's first class all the way.

5-0 out of 5 stars fabulous !
Alejandro Fernandez is incredible ! The man has been gifted as few mortals have...a voice of amazing beauty and power, absolutely stunning looks, great stage presence...and the musical instinct and knowledge to put out CDs of total excellence, and this is one of his best. He sings with soul and passion..listen to his voice soar in "Como Quien Pierde una Esrella" ! Other favorites include "Llorando Penas", "La Mitad que me Faltaba" (what romantic lyrics !) and "El Potrillo" which is about his heritage (his father is the legendary Vicente Fernandez) and his music. If you like Mexican music, This is one to treasure for many years to come.

5-0 out of 5 stars Como Me Encanta!
I am a HUGE fan of Alejandro and I feel this cd is his best. I have over 400 cd's of all different types of music and this one is in my top 10 favorites! I never tire of his beautiful voice or the beautiful songs. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good review of Selena's songs
This is a good over view of Selena most beloved hits. I love all the song on this cd it should be one of the first things to buy if you are a new selena fan so you kinda get the feeling of what she is all about.

2-0 out of 5 stars A NICE LITTLE DISK BUT FALLS SOMEWHAT FLAT
While there is no way you can say that Selena's music is at fault here, something certainly is. "Exitos y Recuerdos" houses some Selena favorites such as "Como La Flor" and the crowd-pleasing "Baila Esta Cumbia" but for the most part, the album should be renamed "Entre a Mi Mundo-repackaged". With most of its songs originating from that album, the extra (but great) songs just seem to be something thrown in. This 7-track disk is nothing more than a K-mart single, and a K-mart single they keep re-releasing and re-releasing, so far with 3 different covers. Is this to fool us into buying all three? Or tugging at the heart-strings of an avid Selena collector? One never knows. If you want a true Selena album, buy "Entre a mi Mundo." Or anything else for that matter.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!!
This album is a nice little tribute. It includes her MASSIVE hits 'Como la flor', 'Baila esta cumbia' and 'Que creias'. It is a mixture of Selena's cumbia and miriachi songs. I especially liked 'Si la queires' and 'Besitos'. This is great for a Selena fan but if you are a Selena beginner 'All my hits todos mis exitos' has more songs, and gets you used to her music. It is a definete must for anyone who loves the Queen of Tejano!

5-0 out of 5 stars 9 Great Tracks, Make this CD a great Buy!
