Happy time music
Loved this CD. When is he going to make another? Can not be too soon for me. The songs were strickly happy time, with some romance sprinkled in. A very unique presentation. In addition, I really enjoyed the English/Spanish combination. Easy to sing along in English, and learn the Spanish.

Fantastic as intertainment and an excellent language tool.
Cowboy Cumbia is an up-beat, stimulating collection of well written songs backed by an exciting cumbia rhythm.I talked to Javier and his personality is as exciting as his music.Country music as a hole has a newstandard !Keep it up Javier ... we love you.Vaya con Díos. -Roger B.

Too much might never be enough for fans of Latin pop superstar LuisMiguel's swooning balladry. For discerning listeners, however, Amarte Es UnPlacer is the same old song and dance. The album balances swooning balladswith up-tempo numbers, much like Miguel's previous Nada Es Igual and Aries. Admittedly, Migueldisplays a wonderfully expressive voice, particularly on "Tu Mirada," "Soy Yo,"and "O Tú o Ninguna," but other problems surface. Up-tempo numbers suchas "Sol, Arena y Mar," "Quiero," and "Dímelo en un Beso" feature tepidarrangements akin to background music for a Miami Vice episode, and Miguel doesn't inject anyreal rhythm into the songs. The sole exception is "Te Propongo Esta Noche,"which breaks into a pulsing club beat. Miguel would be wise to follow that samepath next time around. --Joey Guerra

Excelente - gran calidad de voz y musica
Me encanta este nuevo CD de Luis Miguel. Su voz esta mejor que nunca, la controla en una forma increible de altos a bajos con facilidad. Es un PLACER escuchar este album. Los arreglos musicales son de lujo. Las letras muy reales a lo que es en la vida, me desconectan y me llevan a los intimo de mi ser. Gran calidad todo cuidado con detalle. No hay mejor voz en el mundo Latino que la de Luis Miguel. Aparte de su voz, es su interpretacion, por cierto muy de el. Tiene la habilidad de pasarnos su energia, pasion, emociones, etc. El mejor. Micky gracias por existir y por el respeto que le das a tu publico con tu trabajo. Este disco no es para amargados, es para gente sensible que sabe disfrutar de los momentos de la vida.

Un Clasico
Si es verdad es una CLASICO. Amarte Es Un Placer esta lleno de energia y romanticismo que ha llevado a Luis Miguel ser el Mejor Artista Latino de la decada. Las canciones "PoP" del album te llevan a recordar cuando tenias 5-15 años, cuando salieron caciones como "Cuando Calienta el Sol" y "Sera Que No Me Amas". Las canciones romanticas del cd te llevan a recordar otra vez las melodias e instrumentacion del disco Segundo Romances. La verdad que es una cd con buena calidad. Tenemos que aceptar que LuisMi no es ignorante. Por lo menos sabe lo que esta pasando a fuera de su estilo como lo señala en los ultimos minutos de la casion "Te Propongo Esta Noche", cuando la cacion toma un curso de su pop clasico a el House. Tambiem tenemos que aceptar que LuisMi nunca va a cambiar su estilo y su idioma de cantar. Luis Miguel no se preocupa en lo que esta pasando con artistas como Marc A, Enrique I, y Ricky M. La calidad en que LuisMi hace sus discos es incomparable; y no le importa si vende menos o mas. El no se preocupa por lo comercial como lo estan haciendo, Ricky y Enrique.

No. Luis Miguel is not a new name to me
I just got this cd from LM a few days ago and I must say that the cd is great. Even though this my first cd from Lm I have heard of him before and I had seen him. Not in person though. I want to get a whole bunch more of cds from Mr. Miguel and I hope their just as good as Amarte Es Un Placer. I remembered Amarte Es Un Placer was a hit in 1999 and I had jus fallen in love with the song but never got the cd. Well I have it in my collection now. Thanks

What is the justification for using an orchestra of 115 players
--according to the list at the back of the book - when the main sound that comes out behind the singer - is drums and more drums.
First- there are no latin rhythms anywhere--only 7 very slow songs that use over 90 strings behind all those drums--and 5 fast pieces that use a brass section and chorus as well as LM's own rhythm section.
The quality of the arrangements leaves much to be desired. The players list notes 11 woodwinds and eight horns. All that can be heard is an occasional oboe and a distant horn.

An orchestra of these proportions should be playing Wagner. In the case of this production, it would have been better to put these simple arrangements on a synthesizer and free up all those expensive resources to do something useful that would give them some satisfaction in their work.

LM can do anything he wants, and get the backing for it. Next time, the producers should think about some quality.

GENIOUSLY COMPOSED POP MUSIC OF OUR TIME!!!!!!!!
This is definately Luis miguels best album by far. It has songs that are classically composed "Amarte es un placer" & "Tu miradad" (no wonder it won a grammy)..The song "Quiero" & "tu solo tu" have a very classy pop feel to them. This is an album you hear when you are by the beach overlooking the ocean out of a balcony with a $300 cigar and your beautiful wife with you.Then you get into your Bently and drive off into the sunset. ...
