5-0 out of 5 stars Try to find this used!
This is an excellent CD from one of the pioneers of bossa nova. Every song is light and airy and the guitar work is absolutely beautiful. Try to get your hands on a used copy if possible so you can experience this CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the best
This is definately one of the best acoustic guitar album I've ever encountered. If you like acoustic guitar, you're gonna love this one!!! No words to describe it but just listen to it and you know what I mean!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Recording
This is one of Bonfa's best recordings. Many of his greatest compositions are represented here and the production values are very high. Bonfa and Bertoncini are wonderful together.

5-0 out of 5 stars As romantic as a samba in the rain....
For those who are not aficionados of the genre, perhaps Luiz Bonfa is not as well known as Antonio Carlos Jobim or Stan Getz, the other two members of the Bossa Nova triumvirate that seemed to "own the franchise" in the 1960s. However, even casual fans should recognize Bonfa's most well known piece Manha de Carnival (Morning of Carnival), originally written for the movie Black Orpheus and recorded countless times by legions of interpreters.

Bonfa is not only an incredibly talented composer, but a guitarist of great artistry. Jobim said of Bonfa, "...his guitar is a little orchestra." Here Bonfa is joined by Brazilian percussionist, Cafe, and on three tracks by American guitarist, Gene Bertoncini.

All the songs here receive the most tender interpretation possible. While soft and gentle, the performance is filled with passion. This is a lovely and evocative album. Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes
I agree with all of the above..."The Bonfa Magic" is just as beautiful. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Smooth music
Before "Smooth Jazz" there was smooth music. There is a difference. Smooth Jazz is the commercial breakthrough by artists into the business of putting out there work. I'm not knocking it, it's business. Smooth [mellow] music, was never considered a genre, but the rather a music which rendered a mellow feeling. Buttery, succulent, soft like the human touch. Antonio Carlos Jobim's work is smooth like that. His vibe is very mellow, full of LOVE. Very sensative, lush, rich and earthy. Check out the sound bite's and hear for yourself. Of course...the Verve label is a qualifying endorsment in itself. I certainly enjoy this release.

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful album
Words aren't enough to describe this album. It's an album that is an experience. Each and every song affects the emotions and soul. There are instrumentals as well as vocals, making this a great album with a mix of different Jobim styles. There's even a Gershwin tune thrown in for good measure, the only non-Jobim song on here. The booklet contains informative liner notes about Jobim, as well as notes on a few of the songs. This is a must-have for Jobim and/or bossa nova fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars the most amazing music ever
I saw Black Orpheus years ago and fell in love with the soundtrack. Now I have music similar to the soundtrack on this CD and I can just let it repeat itself for hours. It's so smoothly sensual that you won't ever want it to end.

5-0 out of 5 stars amazing
When I first heard the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim, I fell in love with it. He is possibly the greatest composer of the century. His music is simply incredible. Anyone that does not own this CD should run out and get it immediately, along with his other CDs. My favorite songs are "Triste," "Inutil Paisagem," and "Agua De Beber," but they're ALL good, I promise.

... What George Gershwin did for New York City, Guinga does for Rio deJaneiro in this extended song-cycle tribute to the famous Leopoldina trainstation, a place heavy with images from the artist's youth. Expanding on thescope of his last release, the prizewinning instrumental discCheio de Dedos, CarlosAlthier de Souza Lemos Escobar, a.k.a. Guinga, adds legendary vocalists ChicoBuarque and Nei Lopes to his impressive roster of musicians. The pair makes itscollaborative debut on the dark and beautiful "Parfisal," which reflects onBrazil's rule by military junta. "Dos Anjos" begins the suite on a bittersweetnote as harmonica great Toots Thielemans evokes a Nino Rota-style soundtrack ina paean to the innocence of childhood. The centerpiece of a disc filled withhigh points is the lushly orchestrated chorinho "Choro Perdido," arrangedby pianist Leandro Braga and featuring Ze Nogueira waxing plaintive on sopranosax against a backdrop of strings. Guinga's reinvention of Brazilian popularmusic is so seductive, its sheer nerve rolls right by like a train in the night.--Bob Tarte ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Oh so soothing
The master of the bossa nova's best work on Verve. And it's dirt cheap!

This is a great introduction to the bossa nova-based jazz of the 60's. I'd start here and see if you like it, then branch out into the actual albums by some of the other related artists (some of whom can be found on this cd).

The music is really smooth, calm, soothing, very tropical, world feel to it. The Portugeuse language sounds so beautiful.

A nice vibe to mellow out to. Good stuff!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simpy the best of Jobim
This disc is a must have for anyone who enjoys the Bossa Nova style. Though cliche, the recording of 'The Girl from Impanema' on this disc is, to say the least, breathtaking! The vocals are extremely pure anc crystal clear, and with Stan Getz at the Sax, it makes for an awesome Recording! There is a lot of other good stuff on here too. An instrumental version of on note samba is very good, though perhaps not quite as stimulating as it is with vocals. If nothing else, this cd is a good one to impress girls with your good taste in music! heehee...

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good on the whole, with some weak points
Most of this album is wonderful, with great performances by Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, and Shirley Horn. Gal Costa is good, but she lets the quality of her voice waver a bit too much at times. Jon Hendricks is a bit obnoxious on his tracks, and while I have the deepest respect for Jobim as a composer and musician, his vocals (especially in his later years) seem a bit forced and melodramatic--totally against the underlying feeling of the music he helped give birth to, bossa nova. Pick it up if you love everything about Jobim and bossa nova, but casual listeners should probably pass and get the verve compilations of Gilberto/Getz/Jobim. ... Read more

Those who love the quiet jazzy groove of bossa nova and the delicate voice of Caetano Veloso probably know about Vinicius Cantuária. A Brazilian songwriter who has written hits for Veloso and other countrymen, Cantuária's own music favors spare but by no means safe bossa nova-based arrangements that gently push at the music's edges without making a stink about it. Like the classics, nothing is rushed; there is no shouting. Here there is the whispered voice, gentle percussion, swingin' guitar, bass and a few other bits of sound filigree that float in and out. While recent efforts have an arty electronic sheen on the surface, Horse and Fish is almost all acoustic, the notable exception being Cantuária's airy Bill Frisell-like electric guitar tone on some material. Highlights include the gutsy remake of Gilberto Gil's "Procissao," the upbeat "Cubanos Postizos" and "Look The Sky." This one will creep inside you with the subtlety of osmosis. –-Tad Hendrickson ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Another off-center set by this Brazilian experimentalist
Another lowkey, jazz-tinged outing by this well-regarded Brazilian expatriate... Cantuaria has come a long way since his days as a percussionist in Caetano Veloso's late '70s band, and from his clunky early solo albums, where he tried to be a New Wave-y Brazilian answer to The Artist Formerly Known As Prince. Here he settles deep into a mellow world-jazz mode, as heavily influenced by his recent collaborations with guitarist Bill Frisell as by the hovering, angelic spectre of the late Miles Davis. Longtime collaborator Paulo Braga anchors the album's percussive end, with Mauro Refosco and other folks in the Rio-by-way-of-NYC axis. Most of the songs are Cantuaria originals, while some well-chosen cover tunes -- moody renditions of Roberto Menescal's "O Barquinho," Gilberto Gil's "Procissao," a couple by Jobim -- highlight Cantuaria's ability to reimagine and refashion the visions of other artists. This is an album that will grow on you: songs that at first may seem slick and overly informed by commercial jazz styling take on a subtle gravity, as his profoundly calm, quiet approach slowly asserts itself. Give this disc a couple of tries, and it will richly reward you. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow, what a SURPRISE, Muy Beautiful!
Most of my adult life, I have been a fan of Rock and Blues; The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy and Robert Cray. So, surfing the web, I come across the music of Gilberto Gil, the King of Brazilian music. Strange, with my music taste, how contrariwise I fall in love with this eclectic music collage of Brazilian jazz, retro acoustic rock and Reggae. I am a convert; I love how Gilberto Gil's integrates so many musical themes into a marvelous acoustic sensation, akin to an auditory orgasm. Yes, I almost said it, this is better than sex or certainly makes sex even better, really. What a great surprise. Gil has impeccable timing. The recording fidelity is as good as it gets. This is a CD you should listen to a few times. The layers and textures are subtle and are revealed only when you are sitting down, relaxed. As I researched Gil, he's been around playing since the mid 50's and he won the best album for the Latin Grammy's. You will not be disappointed. This CD is not a 5, it's a 5.5. And, I love this music, but, what a great name, Gilberto Gil, I am jealous; I should be so lucky, hmmn.

4-0 out of 5 stars Could have been a perfect record
This is the ultimate missed opportunity record. The idea is simple. Gil and Ben get together and jam for 12 hours with the microphones on "record", touch up the sound quality a bit, and release it as a record. Nothing could be simpler.

Except that Gil is off-key on every song on this album. Gil ruins this record. But Ben is brilliant, both for his singing and his guitar playing. I liked Ben's performance on this record so much that I was deaf to the fact that Gil was such a poor element in the sound presentation until someone pointed it out to me. I guess Gil was a little bit too "far out" that night. It gets really annoying when he starts improvising musical sounds with his mouth like it were a tambourine or something. But other than that, this is a pretty good record, with all of the exciting improvisational feel of a Saturday night jam session. Not Ben's best work, and certainly not Gil's, it is still listenable and enjoyable and worth having in any 1970's Brazilian record collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
Gil is not inspired????? There's nothing but inspiration in the whole record. To say that Gil is out of tune is equal to say that Dave Brubeck played out of tune in "Time Out"!!! Gil and Jorge are one of the most perfect duo's that ever played. Songs like "Meu glorioso São Cristovão" or "Jurubeba" are the real brazilian classics.. As someone wrote, how rate it less than 5 stars?

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple & Subtle
If you have no patience for subtle music, stay away from this CD. If you enjoy dissecting songs, basking the minute changes in rhythm and texture, this disc is hard to surpass. Ben & Gilberto are playful and innovative without losing focus. This is an exceptionally under produced and improvisational studio album. This is not for people with a short attention span who want canned and predictable pop, Brazilian or otherwise. If you want to find something different each time you listen to a CD, I highly recommend it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Why these recordings are so praised???
Ever since I became a huge fan of Gil and Jorge Benjor back in the 80's, I read about in several articles that this 1975 was supposed to be one of theirs most brilliant records. When it was finnally released in cd in 1993, I got mine. Well, it's funny how music journalists have the power to create these myths. In my humble opinion this is the most boring record of their entire carreer. A sequence of endless jams, and let's face it, they are great pop composers and creators, but certanlly not jazz musicians. The tracks keep going on and on above the same three of four chords that can drive you crazy, sometimes for over 11 minutes (!!!), and at every new round they add a number of new vocalizes and little guitars solos, and once again I must say: eventhou they're great rithym guitar players, what awfull soilists... almost everysong here can be found in a better, more formal recording. Unfortunately some of them are out of print (hey, Universal Music Brasil, wake up!!!)
Try any other record from these artists from the same period (Africa Brasil/Jorge Ben/1976, Refazenda/Gil/1975, Refavela/Gil/1977, Expresso 2222/Gil/1972, etc.) and you will find great records with great arrangements and well-structured and well-harmonized songs. Short songs by the way.
...And please, no more senseless myths... ... Read more

The Brazilian pianist Eliane Elias is an ideal interpreter for the music of her compatriot Antonio Carlos Jobim. She's attuned to both its melodic and rhythmic nuances, and she's a potent improviser, able to develop Jobim's often graceful melodies and put her own stamp on them. Despite her Brazilian roots, Elias's approach is often more jazz oriented than bossa nova, and she provides a fuller portrait of Jobim than is usual. The songs stretch from the '50s to the '80s, and she thoroughly recasts some of the best-known tunes from the bossa nova period, like "Desafinado."Bassist Eddie Gomez, who first encouraged Elias's move to the U.S., is a full partner in the music, an aggressive and virtuosic presence providing constant stimulation with fleet counter lines, while drummer Jack DeJohnette and percussionist Nana Vasconcelos combine to create a flowing, percussive backdrop. Elias's singing on "Don't Ever Go Away" looks ahead to her later vocal approach on the CD Sings Jobim. --Stuart Broomer ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Not What I Expected
Obviously, something brought you to this artist and this particular CD. For me, it was hearing her amazing rendition of Don't Ever Go Away on a local radio station, and this cut alone is worth the price of admission.

The title is a bit deceiving, however, and I really didn't get what I was expecting. When one thinks of Antonio Carlos Jobim, one thinks of bossa nova and memorable songs from one of the best composers ever. What Eliane Elias has done is marry these melodies with true jazz, giving each song a twist with improvisations that only a gifted jazz artist can produce. For those who know these melodies well, this will be a real treat. For those who don't, you may find yourself struggling to find the melody as she playfully dances around it.

The only dissapointment here is the last cut, where she attempts to sing Don't Ever Go Away. While her playing is superb, her singing really leaves me cold, and it was a dissapointing finish to an otherwise excellent CD. One more vocal would have dropped my rating to 4 stars.

Bottom line, if you love jazz, and Jobim, this CD is a real treat, and some excellent work by Elias. But this CD isn't for everyone, especially the person who is looking for a "first" Jobim CD, or someone who is expecting a more contemporary version of his songs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Unique blend of jazz and Brazil
I love this album and play it all the time. The material is great, and Elias has a unique approach which blends cool and vibrant jazz with a subtle Brazilian rhythmic flow. Her support too is excellent, with Eddie Gomez playing melodic bass lines that at times sound like a pizzicato 'cello or even a guitar! Both percussionists play with great subtlety and together they create a magical soundworld, heard to best advantage on the elusive 'Sabia'. This track and 'Zingaro' are truly haunting. Jazz fans will love what Eliane does with 'One Note Samba' and 'Desafinado' and there is plenty of lively and witty soloing along with the ballads. Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding interpretation of Jobim
Stylish & classy....grab a nice cool drink and enjoy this one ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Toots' Harmonica Wrapped in Pure Debussy Expressed in Jazz
Can you imagine a Shirley Horn CD without Shirley Horn singing? Here is the case for this wonderful 5-star CD which showcases the Debussy tasty piano by Ms.Horn as the basis for the ever inventive and sensitive Toots Thielemans. Pure Artistry.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just as soulful...
Picked up this CD at a performance the other night with Toots in a duo with pianist Kenny Werner. The incredible chemistry was breathtaking, so I was skeptical about this album, but after only a few listens, I believe it is just as soulful as the show. Shirley Horn's trio deliberately underplays the whole album, and the results are pure melody and feeling. Every song here is a winner. The one vocal song is great, and as usual, Toot's sole composition (the title cut) is an instant classic. Too often, the brilliance and popularity of bossa nova by its creators João Gilberto and Antonio Carlos Jobim have overshadowed contemporary developments in Brazilian music. This excellent CD by guitarist-vocalist-composer Márcio Faraco should bring listeners up to date on what's happening in that festive and folkloric country. Faraco, born in Algrete in southern Brazil and based in France, sings in the whispering canto faldo/spoken-song style of Gilberto, with the influences of Milton Nascimento and Caetano Veloso. In settings ranging from solo guitar and voice to ensembles with horns and strings coarranged by the underrated keyboardist-arranger Wagner Tiso, Faraco serves up a spicy sonic soup full of Brazil's Indian, European, and African flavors. The midtempo title track is an easygoing duet with Chico Buarque, and the haunting "Baile de Mascaras" features African percussionist Doudou N'Diaye Rose, while "Virtine Carioca" displays a zesty, Wes Montgomery-like jazz-guitar line. All told, Marcio Faraco's lovely CD shows us what the bossa nova will sound like in the 21st century. --Eugene Holley Jr. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars brilliant weave of pensively colored sound
Marcio Faraco is far less well-known than he should be. I don't mind that so much, since I prefer to find original music for myself that nobody in my circle of influence has encountered previously. However, I think this guy deserves to have more people know about his existence. I was fortunate enough to be browsing through foreign music selections at a used CD shop near my home and I happened upon this disc. I listened to bits of the songs there in the store and instantly purchased it. It's an album that I play for everybody I know, and I have had nothing but positive response to it. Each song is expertly crafted and evokes beautiful thoughts and memories. This is excellent daydream music, even if you're not a natural daydreamer. A classic album.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great CD!!!
In the days of prefabed pop music, it is good to see there are some real singer songwriters still around creating greaat music, such as Marcio Faraco. When I first hears this CD, I felt his songs leaped from the speakers and grabbed me as the lister. I would have to say I hear about one or two CD's a year which sound "fresh" and this is definitely one of them! Definitely buy this CD!

4-0 out of 5 stars A talented vocalist from Brazil
Marcio Faraco's impressive vocal performances really distinguish "Ciranda." This Brazilian performer's voice is hypnotic and ethereally beautiful. The rhythms of these songs are generally mellow, with touches of playfulness. Although there weren't any songs that particularly stood out from the pack for me, the CD as a whole is definitely worth listening too.

4-0 out of 5 stars A new and clear voice
A co-worker went away to Brazil and came back with 50 CD's from Rio. Through her, I've only begun recently to develop an interest in Brazilian music. I was in a Tower Records recently where this wonderful artist's work was being spotlighted as a new release. It's only rarely that I listen to a CD in a store and decide to buy it based solely on the first cut.

Subsequently I've listened to the whole album several times, and when I bring Ciranda into work with me, I have to remind my co-worker to give it back to me (she likes to put it on continuous play and just let it go). Faraco has a lovely voice and a poetic spirit, and I look forward to hearing more from him.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not to be missed!
I read somewhere that mr. faraco left brasil for paris because he was disappointed with the latest trends in brazilian music. Although I'm not sure if I can completely agree with him, his first album is definitely one of the best brazilian records I've heard in the long time. He sticks to acoustic and makes exceptionally fine, smooth music in the best bossanova tradition with some original ingredients. Faraco collaborated closely with Wagner Tiso (he did many wonderful things for Milton Nascimento among others), who played piano and contributed some brilliant strings and horns arrangements. Chico Buarque also sings on title track but you should see and hear Faraco performing live with his band. He gave a free concert in Ljubljana, Slovenia, this summer and it was absolutely wonderful evening. ... Read more

This bargain-priced four-CD set presents itself as easy, event-based listening, with the CDs individually titled "Wining," "Dining," "Dancing," and "Romancing." A glimpse at the track list and personnel, however, immediately reveals that, much more than "easy listening," it's an extraordinary collection of jazz performances culled from the Verve archives and including material from the label's classic and recent periods, as well as from subsidiary labels.

The selection has been made with remarkable thoughtfulness, pulling out tracks that may surprise even veteran listeners. John Coltrane plays "You're a Weaver of Dreams" with the Miles Davis rhythm section in a 1959 session. There's also Miles's 1958 rendition of "Round Midnight" with arranger Michel LeGrand. And there's a live Paris recording of "Whisper Not" by Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers with Lee Morgan. When Al Hibbler sings "This Love of Mine," he's backed by the perfectly Ellingtonian horns of Johnny Hodges and Ben Webster.

"Dancing" picks up the tempo and swings with vigor, but the other volumes are almost textbooks on the art of ballad playing, with many of the greatest saxophonists, trumpeters, and vocalists represented, and a healthy sampling of pianists and guitarists as well. Sure, it functions as mood music, but there's none of the usual artificiality or manipulative effects. It's jazz, often of the highest order and filled with a spirit of timeless romance. --Stuart Broomer ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great set at a great price
I bought this box (paid a little more!) and it's totally worth it. Each disc sets a different mood with a mixture of standards and obscure tracks. Verve is one of the legendary jazz labels with many varied artists. The sound quality throughout is perfect. You can't lose.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Night Out with Verve Box Set
Excellent box set. Would highly recommend to anyone. If you want to hear some great jazz classics performed by some of the best, definitely give it a whirl. Two thumbs up and five stars in my book.

5-0 out of 5 stars A night out indeed!
I bought this 8 months ago after hearing a single track. I don't usually buy boxed sets, but the price was great and I took a chance.

I have been rewarded beyond all measure. This is a great buy at twice the price. This is one collection that I can play and play and play. It is not only stuffed with great music, but the selections and the way that they are arranged is nothing short of breathtakingly brilliant. A wonderful companion whether you're just listening, or wining, dining, dancing... or romancing!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Things Come in Small Packages
I ordered this CD with some trepidation, but I've been very pleasantly surprised. A great variety of music and artists, combined with a good song mix of favorites and unknowns, make this a must-have for anyone who already has a good collection, or is looking to build one. This volume and variety of music for this price is a great find!

5-0 out of 5 stars This One's For Wining, Dining Dancing And Romancing
A Night Out With Verve is exactly what it's advertised to be, Wining, Dining, Dancing and Romancing. This is an excellent introduction to some of the greatest jazz music of all time. The artists represented on this collection are a virtual "who's who" of jazz giants. The highlights are far too numerous to mention, but I'll try. There's Miles Davis performing the Thelonius Monk classic 'Round Midnight, Perdido by Duke Ellington, But Beautiful by Stan Getz and Bill Evans and Isn't It Romantic by Benny Carter. There are also outstanding vocal performances such as Billie Holiday's It Had To Be You, Reaching For The Moon by the incomparable Ella Fitzgerald, Little Girl Blue by Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong and a most romantic reading of I Should Care by The Velvet Fog, Mel Torme.

Considering the budget price of this collection, the sound, the packaging and most of all the music, this is an outstanding value. Weather your jazz collection contains hundreds of albums by these great masters or you're a jazz neophite, I highly recommend this wonderful box-set. There are many many hours to savor, as you wine and dine and dance and romance. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars After 55 years I'm still dazzled by this album
My very first Bossa Nova album, I bought this while in high school on 10-inch LPs. Effervescent, light, joyous, romantic -- everything you dream Rio de Janeiro could be. It's more of a precursor to the Antonio Carlos Jobim Bossa Nova explosion a few years later. But Bud Shank and Laurindo Almeida picked up on the potential for fusing jazz and the samba early on. I'm not a musician, but I know this album is pure genius. The soft sax and vibrant guitar will dazzle you. The interwoven rhythms of sax, guitar and drums go on and on. My favorite track is "Stairway to the Stars." Still gets me dreaming. They tried to follow up with a second album -- Braziliance II -- but it never achieved that spark of divine fire the first one did. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars VIVA BRAZIL INDEED !!!!
Tania Maria has become as a good wine, the longer it ages, the better it gets. I've been a fan of Tania for many years now, and was glad to hear and enjoy her latest work Viva Brazil. She feels and sounds more relaxed and more confident than ever before. My favorite songs are: Sebastiana,Tudo Certo/Mas que Nada, the new and better version of Sangría and Conceicao. Please make yourself a favor, purchase this fascinating album, at once, you'll LOVE it.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a great record!
What words can I describe this cd with? Jazz, funky, Brazilian, sensuous, fun etc... I bought this cd blind, never having heard her music before, and am so glad I did. Florzhina, Ta Tudo Certo/Mas Que Nada, Sebastiana, Vem Pr'a Roda and man, oh man, oh man - SANGRIA are my favorites. I can't understand a word she sings since it's all in Portugese, but it doesn't matter one bit.

4-0 out of 5 stars "Viva Maria"
Concord Records presentation of "VIVA BRAZIL", features one of the most creative and dynamic artist recording today, "Tania Maria". This composer/vocalist/pianist, who hails from Brazil, is back, paying homage to her Brazilian heritage, while at the same time propelling, into new and creative journey's in the vast musicland of ours.

"VIVA BRAZIL, finds Tania's distinctive synthesis of jazz, Brazillian, funk and pop music to be more potent and powerful than ever!

Stand outs: "SEBASTIANA", "IT'S ONLY LOVE", "NAO SE AVEXE NAO" and "CONCEICAO", are but a few, of what I consider soon to be classics, by this talented and accomplished musician.

5-0 out of 5 stars A lovely lady with a tremendous talent
I make my living as a classical pianist. For fun, I teach music at the local community college and Church. I was in Des Moines, Iowa to perform a concert with the Des Moines Symphony, and I was offered caught Ms.Elias at the Civic center. Just the site of her takes a man's breath away, but once she started playing,it was incredible. I've bought several of her albums since, and I am not disappointed with any of them.

This Brazilian beauty,in my opinion, is one of the greatest pianists I have heard in a very long time. ... Read more
