5-0 out of 5 stars Rock out with the grrls of DHR!
I've had this for over a year now (imported of course) and this is the best! Very cool, lots of old 70's samples, and although there aren't any breakbeats that's not what DHR is about anyway. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Digital Hardcore done very well
Digital Hardcore is a funny genre: you either love it or hate it.

As a DHC enthusiast, I know it can be hit or miss sometimes, trying to find a great DHC CD. I started on ATR, moved on to Alec Empire and Bomb 20, and now I have found COTGV. This is a great album with some VERY awesome tracks. "Caucasian Deathmask" is the perfect opener and "Substance X" is a phenomenal track.

COTGV is great entry into the DHC universe and for those of you who like the musical stylings of ATR and Alec Empire but hate ATR's screeching female and Alec's vocals, COTGV has great music and no vocals.

3-0 out of 5 stars Chilled out deathbeats
Yeah, ATR... great. The whole reason I bought this cd was for the Techno Animal additional production, and boy, does it show. While his own efforts of illbient are a little hard to swallow due to total bleakness, the hardcore asthetic livens things up to at least a few degress above absolute zero. Sounds somewhat like icecubes being ground up in an enormous machine that tears them apart, and somehow reassembles them, leading one to suspect that they have more icecubes somewhere in the machine. To wit, the best parts of the album arrive on Low-Tech predator, when the crunchy guitars of ATR combine with a decaying siren effect, producing something you might actually remember after popping out the disk. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great CD Fresh Beats From Vinylgroover
I have to say that the first time I put this CD in I thought it was OK but after listening to it a few more times, it quickly became one of my most favorite CDs. The best songs, in my opinion, are Hallucintation Generation and Let There Be Light. I recommend anyone to buy this CD. I own almost all of DJ Vinylgroover's CDs and i have to say this one is the best. The beats are fresh and up beat and if you are only going to buy one CD, buy this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great mix, very different for Vinylgroover
When I first got this album I expected it to be a Happy Hardcore album, so you could imagine my suprise when it said "UK Hard House/NU NRG". A little frustrated I put the album in, and by the end I was very satisfied with the NU NRG sound, all the songs are great. Check this one out if you enjoyed Vinylgroover on his Happy Hardcore mixes. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Dissappointing
This has nothing to do with breakbeats, jungle, drum and bass or even happy hardcore (unless you're talking about the new HHC). It's UK hardhouse. If you like clubby mainstream "trancy" music, get this. Otherwise STAY AWAY.

Slipmatt has had better moments.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hard and Crunchy!
I heard one of the tracks from this awesome CD on internet radio and knew that if the rest of the CD was as kick-ass as that one track I wouldn't be disappointed. I'm far from disappointed! This hard and crunchy techno feast is just what my head needs from time to time to generate some energy!

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't Be Fooled By The Speed Limit title
A word of caution: if you are expecting the Drum N Bass/Jungle/Breakbeat type of music you have come to expect from the Speed Limit 140 BPM+ volumes, you will be extremely disappointed, as I am. Moonshine should have done better than this. The entire CD is Hard House. It's good if you like House. Moonshine should not have put this music under this title. I seriously doubt if any of these songs ever get over 120 bpms. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars ATR - Too Dead For Me is right...it's good but not great
This cd seems to have 8 tracks by the listing but it's actually 5. The other tracks are "noise" tracks, basically you can use those for sampling, and they directly follow the main tracks, i.e. too dead for me, revolution action, and no remorse. The best tracks on this CD are definitely Too Dead For Me and No Remorse (Live in NYC).No Remorse is especially good because it has a grittier feel for it than on 60 Second Wipeout. Whether or not it was performed live w/Slayer or not I couldn't say.The Death of A President DIY track is 30 seconds of Hanin Elias babbling the intro to the song of the same name, though it IS fun too hear her say pussycat pussycat go go go....meoooooooow! The Anarchy 999 (real mix) is no different from the 60 Second Wipeout version and is only 7 seconds longer according to my cd player (i checked it) which ends up being 7 seconds of miscellaneous static.Buy this CD just to say you have all of them! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars The fallen Empire
Once back in the good old days of '97 DHR was for a period one of the most hyped "underground" labels around. But when time got by and several mediocore releases followed each other. Most artists on the label got fed up with the nonsense attitude of Mr. Alec Empire and left the sinking ship. Frustrated and with his hands in his hair Alec planned his next move.

The result of Alec's next masterplan is a 3 CD set of probably for most people unknown artists and to be honest if you don't know artists like Heartworm, Ronin & Schizoid praise yourself lucky, because most artists on this compilation can't even compete with the material from old DHR acts as Ec8or, Bomb20 & Christoph de Babalon. The whole concept just got stucked in an amateurish attempt from some DHR fans who are probably now living on top of their narrow minded musical world because their name is on a CD which also contains the DHR logo and some manifest from the master himself you can't hardly take any serious.

This release is a complete joke and if your name isn't on this CD don't buy it!! There's plenty of talent running around in the underground scene these days only they're not so stupid to send their material to the DHR label.

Final conclussion: complete waste of money even for a good laugh

5-0 out of 5 stars Not for the squeamish...or dull-minded
3 CDs, 35 Bands, 66 Tracks and one low price. If you roll over the great American behemoth and slit open its soft underbelly, you'll probably find something like this among the innards. This is the true face of the hardcore electronic underground music scene in all its unsanitized, unrestricted fury. You want anger? YOU GOT IT. You want noise? YOU GOT IT. You want sociopolitical diatribes that make you proud to be in a country where we still (mostly) have freedom of speech? YOU GOT THAT, TOO. Alec Empire is not someone who takes his music lightly and his assembled arsenal spread across these three discs underscore that fact. And there's an equally brutal European roster as well.

(you're clicking the BUY button, right?)

5-0 out of 5 stars Tired? Bored? Try digital hardcore.
You might be asking yourself "Why should I buy a box set of bands I've never heard of?" I asked myself the same question but curiosity won and I'm glad. This collection is a total breath of fresh air from the over produced, over hyped albums that almost made me hate electronic music. It's raw, loud and has plenty of attitude to match the title. There's something for everyone on here. It's got some guitar driven tracks but it also has jungle, drum 'n bass, filthy techno and even some hardcore noise tracks. (Well, the label is called digital hardcore so you shouldn't expect elevator music.) It's a 3CD set so there's plenty of music to keep your CD player busy for a while. It's a little out of the ordinary but I think that's why I like it. ... Read more

Back before sped-up breakbeats and ultraheavy bass solidified into drum & bass as we know it--back even before everybody started calling its protean form jungle--there was this 25-track mix, put together by DJ DB, with bits of the ultrafast records that were starting to occupy dance floors in 1991 in taxonomies nobody was sure of yet. There are a few bona fide classics (4 Hero's "Mr. Kirk's Nightmare," the Omni Trio's "Renegade Snares"), but the real kick of the compilation is hearing the elements that were just starting to become a genre in proximity to each other--the tiny, sped-up snippets of diva voices, the weird synth chords, the mind-rattling clatter of rhythms cranked to maximum speed. --Douglas Wolk ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Ahhhhh yes! The classic "breakbeat techno" sound.
This CD brings back memories from the good old days of raving. Back when jungle or drum'n'bass was still in it's infancy and was then called "hardcore", "jungle techno", or "breakbeats". Loads of cool anthems from the early days on this one. And it's flawlessly compiled and mixed by DJ DB of Breakbeat Science. Smooth, continuous, and definitely "hardcore"! I would highly recommend this one for anybody seeking to add the "old skool" sound to their dance/electronica collection. A must have! Also check out part 2 of this series, it's wicked.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hardcore! You know the score!
A classic collection of early hardcore before it fused into today's strains of jungle and drum'n'bass. Some real classics in here by the likes of 4 Hero, kaotic Chemistry, Omni Trio, Sonz Of A Loop Da Loop Era, DJ Krome & MR Time, The House Crew, DMS, and many more from the hardcore rave scene of 91/92 Britian.

Rolling Basslines, Revved up house grooves, and Manic breakbeats make this a must have for the hardcore enthusiast, or anyone who wants to feel out the origins of their favorite junglists.

Pump this one up loud in your car and go for a cruise. Try not to dance so hard you get pulled over.

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW
This is a great cd, a nonstop flow of energy that is sure to keep you moving...Hurry and but it before it ceases to exist. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars good tunes, poor mixing.
like the title says, this has some good forms of electronic house, but the mixing is so awful, all he does is fade in and fade out, there is no blending the melodies or beats like a real dj should. the best song on this album is "it's yours" by raoul zerna, he has some good scratching in it too. well, thats about it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hard House for Life
Dj Venom never dissapoints. He plays the best and recent hard tracks. He gots madd skills. He be rocking the beats with his hand. Madd scratching skills!!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Vemon? Yeah to the scene.
DJ Venom is the local bigshot of New England. Why? I have no clue. If I wanted to listen to bad house music I'd put in a Bad Boy Bill CD. One thing I'll have to credit Venom for is this, he's made it very far without a drop of talent. Save your money for the next party, and support your local underground DJ's. ... Read more
