From the heartland of Nebraska, under the creative guidance of Chip Davis, the enormously popular Mannheim Steamroller has made some of the country's bestselling faux-classical synth-pop New Age music, as witnessed by the Fresh Aire and Christmas serials. Beginning in 1974, Mannheim Steamroller cleverly and skillfully created a niche--and more lucratively, a market--for their outfit and for a genre that has grown to encompass the likes of Yanni and Zamfir. On Mannheim Steamroller Meets the Mouse, Davis and his cast of accomplices tackle Disney stalwarts such as "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" (from Song of the South) and "Chim Chim Cheree" (from Mary Poppins), as well as relative newcomers to the Mouse catalog, including "Go the Distance" (from Hercules) and "You've Got a Friend in Me" (from Toy Story). Sadly, despite sweet moments in their rendition of Mulan's "Reflection" or the beloved Pinocchio tune "When You Wish Upon a Star," on which there is a lovely hand-bell choir sound, at best the Mannheim Steamroller registers a tepid nice.--Paige La Grone ... 5-0 out of 5 stars "Disney meets Chip Davis"
This 1964 Academy Award winner for Best Song "CHIM CHIM CHER-EE", performed by Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke in the Disney's multi-hit "Mary Poppins", is nothing less than spectacular by Chip Davis and Mannheim Steamroller gang.

Each selection seems to have that original sound, works so well with the tunes we grew up with and still enjoy to this day, thanks to the clever arrangements of Chip Davis. A wonderful compilation of songs from today and the past, given the "steamroller" treatment, fresh and upbeat.

Chip never ceases to amaze his fans, with "HAKUNA MATATA", "GO THE DISTANCE", "YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND IN ME" simply outstanding...but the highlight is "WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR" the 1940 Academy Award winner for Best Song, beginning with "twinkle, twinkle little star", blending and interwoven beautifully by Davis and the Mannheim gang. Chip sets his standards to the highest level with every album, and his impeccable rhythm and incredible control of dynamics is the mainstay to all of his fans...Mr. Davis, you're ONE OF A KIND!

4-0 out of 5 stars Best in a while
I just received and listened to this selection. I totally disagree with sboloch's review. This person is obviously not familiar with Mannheim Steamroller's/Chip Davis' work, which is to build their own sound AROUND a familiar tune, to add and tweak it, as well as create their own original music. I had no problem finding traces or whole sections of the Disney music, which was totally acceptable within this structure, with the exception of HAKUNA MATATA. Nothing except the words was kept from that piece but perhaps the words were the only thing they were after. I usually purchase the Xmas CD's but thoroughly enjoyed this one. As a person who watched the original Mickey Mouse Club, I found the last selection to be positively haunting, akin to my favorite Mannheim Steamroller piece, SILENT NIGHT. If we all wanted to hear the original tunes as produced by Disney, Disney makes their own CD's. Kudos to Chip Davis!

1-0 out of 5 stars All show, no go.
The key word in the title is "unique." I'll give it that. I'm sure the contents pass muster as "art," and in that regard, I know what I like; this ain't it. Most of these tracks take forever to go anywhere and sound like Chip Davis & Co. have just discovered synthesizers and looping software. The only really listenable track is "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah", which establishes fairly quickly and at least sounds like the song it's supposed to be. Even it, along with most of the others, is a study in "Hey, Mom, watch this!" sound effects generation unworthy of either the Disney moniker or Mannheim Steamroller. "When You Wish Upon A Star" tangled up with "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" - with neither really coming to the fore - borders on insulting; Jiminy Cricket would not be happy! Unless your a fan of early Moog experiments, pass on this one.

1-0 out of 5 stars Wow! I must have missed the point!
Most other reviewers listed here believe that this CD is good - I wonder if the fantastic and marvelous nature of the legendary Mannheim concerts and the joyous nature of earlier Mannheim CD's have made it difficult to critique a Mannheim offering! I am a student of all sorts of music and have been my entire life - and this particular CD sounded to me like one long track of exactly the same music, just with different chords. In fact, if I was not paying specific attention, I couldn't tell when one song ended and another started! I enjoyed what I heard, but I was certainly expecting more from this CD - many of these Disney songs could have easily lent themselves to more spectacular stylings - at the very least, some variety seems to have been called for. Disney has always included great music with their movies, running the gamut of musical styles such as classical, jazz, blues, and even hip-hop - so maybe my problem was that my expectations were too high. I do, however, highly recommend Mannheim CD's in general - just not this one! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars My daughter is singing all the time now
She begged us for it, we bought it home. And our daughter was singing all the time. All of a sudden she wanted voice lessons. (They are a bit pricey for us with 3 kids) so we bought her some singing lessons on cd- brilliant idea (Voice Lessons To Go by Vaccarino). Now she has picked up my son's guitar and is making up simple songs. We are all ready preparing for the many Karaoke Cds we will be purchasing for Christmas!

4-0 out of 5 stars I like it!!!
I think This cd is ok. Some of the songs are old and after you listen to it once you get tired of it i know cause i bought the lizzie mcguire movie soundtrack and i barely listen to it

5-0 out of 5 stars Cooly!
Tracks from the Lizzie McGuire Movie.
Complete with lyric booklet.
Apparently great on CD-G, but if, like me, you don't have that, you can play on normal CD player!
As Lizzie would say, coolie!

5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST FOR LIZZIE LOVERS
My daughter is a huge Lizzie Fan and it is perfect she is able to sing with a singer or on her own. Has all of the hits from the popular movie and also has the TV show theme. It's really nice especially for a girl party. Any girl who is a Lizzie fan will love this because it's easy to get into and just at the right speed. Cute photos between takes too :0) Sure to be a hit this year. ... Read more

When the makers of Toy Story 2 went looking for a story that Woody could own in the celebrated sequel, they settled on thickening the plot by making Woody the former star of a 1950s-era television variety show. In the wake of the film's success, Disneyland launched an immensely popular variety show spinoff featuring some of the music on Woody's Original Roundup. Subtitled A Rootin'-Tootin' Collection of Woody's Favorite Songs, this imaginary soundtrack to a fictional TV show is spiritedly played by cowboy band Riders in the Sky. The songs are compact ditties that kids will fall in love with--especially the title track, the darling "Jessie, the Yodelin' Cowgirl," and the hit "You've Got a Friend in Me." Without much fanfare, this hoedown has leapt to the front of the pack as one of the year's best children's music releases. --Andrew Bartlett ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A truly fun CD
I have not yet seen the movie "Toy Story 2"; however, I was getting impatient for the video to arrive in October and needed something to tide me over until then, so this CD was it. I am so glad I chose it! The songs are witty and perfect for singing along with (well, I haven't tried the yodeling ones yet.) They also seem to me absolutely true to the notion that they have come straight from a 1950's cowboy children's television show: A string of lyrics at the conclusion of "Hey Howdy Hey" includes "skip to my lou and kiss your mom and brush your teeth." Even the CD itself looks like an old 45 RPM kid's record.

As for buying the CD, I recommend it without reservation, but I suggest you listen to the song samples first. If you don't care for Riders in the Sky or a barbershop-quartet-type sound, this collection probably isn't for you...then again, I didn't think I was a Riders in the Sky fan either, but I was completely won over by the time the CD got to "You've Got a Friend in Me." If you DO buy it, please don't skip reading the wonderful introduction in the CD booklet by John Lasseter of Pixar.

I like this CD, my two-year-old daughter likes to dance to this CD, and I plan to buy it for my parents because they grew up on the Saturday matinee cowboy serials, and I'm certain hearing "Woody's Roundup" will bring back lots of good memories. This is a tie-in to the film that shouldn't be missed.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hey Howdy Hey! Nostalgia for memories that never were
Remember? Remember your favorite show, "Woody's Roundup"? Remember when you were a kid, and had a Woody lunchbox, and watched the show every afternoon? Remember listening to the songs on an old 45? Remember how sad it was when the show finally went off the air after Sputnik went up?

No, of course you don't. It never happened. "Woody's Roundup" is a fictional show from the movie Toy Story 2.

Well, now you can re-live all those old "memories". They've "re-issued" the old Woody's Round-up record as a CD. And it feels right. (It looks right, too. The CD looks like an old record.) The Riders in the Sky have captured the feel of kid's shows and Hollywood cowboy songs of the fifties. The attention to detail is excellent. (One of the songs even has a completely gratuitous reminder to brush your teeth, and kiss your mom.) There are no high-tech effects that would not have been available to a low-budget kid's cowboy puppet show in the fifties. If the show had existed, then this is what it would have sounded like, with songs about the whole gang --Woody, Jessie, Bullseye, and Pete.

I can only find two nits to pick. First, the songs from the original show would never have referred to Buzz Lightyear, as two of them do. Second, I don't think a kid's record of the fifties would have included an instrumental piece. But otherwise, the feel is perfect.

It's good cowboy singin'. (I hope you understand the distinction between cowboy singin' and country music.) The Riders in the Sky (and Devon Dawson in the two Jessie songs) have good clear cowboy (and cowgirl) voices of the Roy / Dale / Gene school. "Home on the Range" and "Act Naturally" have nothing to do with Woody, but they are good cuts, and fit the style of the album perfectly.

Woody's Roundup is now in the same box with all my old fifties theme song records - because that's where it belongs. So sit back and re-live those happy, golden memories of the innocent childhood you never really had.

Hey - that's what nostalgia usually is, isn't it?

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for kids and adults!
I bought this CD strictly based upon other people's reviews, as I had never heard Riders in the Sky before. My kids (ages 2 1/2, 4 and 5 1/2) ask for this CD often---especially my youngest! The CD is peppy and fun and enjoyable to listen to--even after the 50th time. If your kids like TOY STORY 2, then chances are very good that they will enjoy this CD as well. Even my husband enjoys this CD and he often balks at "kids music" that isn't familiar.

5-0 out of 5 stars Country Western Flair
This CD is fun to listen to. I found it to be much better than the soundtrack, which was almost all instrumental. The kids ask to listen to this almost every time we get in the car.

The songs aren't necessarily from the movie, but that's ok, because they are definitely songs to sing along with. I'm still trying to get the kids to yodel with some of the music. They're not willing to try it yet, but at least they are being exposed to something a little different.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Magic
One of the best albums I have ever heard. My kids love it, and so do I. We recently travelled from Charlotte, NC, to the beach and this CDROM played non-stop the whole way...and I still like it! ... Read more

Radio Disney is a nationally syndicated children's program, and Radio Disney: Kid Jams pulls together 17 of the show's "greatest hits."It's a cornucopia of high-energy, parent-approved pop and classics from The Lion King and Mulan. Represented are teen idols (the Backtsreet Boys, Hanson), hip-hop (Technotronic, MC Hammer, and a Mickey-ized version of Tag Team's "Whoomp! (There it Went)"), dancefloor (2 Unlimited, "Macarena"), silly favorites (Weird Al Yankovic, I-8-Paste), and even James Brown. There's a lot to like about a compilation that draws no divisions between Yankovic's "Yoda" (a takeoff on the Kinks' "Lola"), Sponge's take on the Speed Racer theme, Steve Vai's cover of "Wipeout," and the Hardest Working Man in Show Business (Brown). The only complaint here is that some parents may resent getting "Macarena" stuck in their heads again.--Randy Silver ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Kids 5 to 10 agree it's great
I work in a before and after school progream and we own all the the Radio Disney Cd's. My 1st - 5th graders love it. They know the songs from radio and the disney channel, and I don't have to worry about inappropriate lyrics.

5-0 out of 5 stars this is the best radio disney cd out
in my opinion this is the best cd radio disney put out. there are a few songs that i could do without but the majority of them are great. the kids love it and the parents enjoy it also. nice up beat songs that will get you and the kids moving! ENJOY!

5-0 out of 5 stars kids listen to it a lot.
The kids are always listen to the radio disney cd's. We have 3 out of the 4 that are available. They seem to really enjoy the variety of music on it. A lot of it is really fun to dance to. My Daughters especially enjoy the dancing. The boys like the humor in some of the songs.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not a bad CD
OK, I must admit that I do like some of the songs on here but not all of them. Some of my favorites are "Quit Playing Games with my Heart", "River", "Yoda", "Go Speed Racer, Go!", "Macarena", "Let's Get Together", and "I'll Be There For You". The others on here are just OK. So if your kids like to listen to Radio Disney, then it's a good start to buy this album.

1-0 out of 5 stars HANSON jams on Radio Disney Kid Jams
I purchased Radio Disney Kid Jams only because Hanson's song River is on it!! I only gave it one star because there's only 1 Hanson song on it and there should be more! Maybe you think I'm being unfair, maybe you think that I'm a diehard fan, well, 1. I'm not being unfair because Hanson is the best band in the world and 2. I AM a diehard fan!! YEAH! Okay, BYE! ... Rarely has an album surfaced with this much raw ability to repel dads, pesky little brothers, and teens with reputations to protect. Then again, rarely will gift-giving grownups find a CD better suited to 3- to 8-year-old divas in the making. Princesses presents 10 melodramatic movie-derived favorites, from as far back as 1948's Cinderella to modern-day hits like Mulan, performed by a handful of lovely sounding if barely distinguishable studio artists; the singing along part is supposed to take place during an instrumental version of each track that directly follows the vocal rendering. Thus, packs of pretend Pocahontases, Belles, and Ariels secure the spotlight for karaoke-style belt-outs of "Colors of the Wind," "Beauty and the Beast," and "Part of Your World." A fit-for-a-princess purple and pink liner note leaflet unravels to present printed lyrics. --Tammy La Gorce ... Read more

If you've never tuned in to Radio Disney, you're probably living with yaks someplace on a mountainside. The kids' radio station grownups love to dislike, even while allowing it to play in the car and house (and inside their minds), relies heavily on an extremely tight play list. It's not true that Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, and Christina Aguilera secretly own the station; it just seems that they do, given all the spins they get. Radio Disney Jams, Vol. 2 picks up where last hour's programming left off, with some modified lyrics from Lou Bega on "Disney Mambo No. 5," substituting the name of leading Disney cartoon characters for the women he fancies in his original mambo superhit. Of course, there's Weird Al Yankovic spoofing Star Wars and "American Pie" (not the Madonna version) with "The Saga Begins." Queen's "We Will Rock You" and"We Are the Champions" are two eminently familiar anthems, thanks in part to their crossing over into every imaginable sport from hockey to bowling. Will Smith, Stevie Wonder, and 98 Degrees are all here. And those disco diehards, the Village People and Sister Sledge, will remind older parents how long ago the '70s really were. New artists, including Steps, Jason Raize, and Aaron Carter also fill out this 18-track tribute to the power of Disney brandcasting. --Martin Keller ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A good CD for kids of all ages
This Radio Disney CD has a lot of good songs on here and I must say that it's better than the first CD in this collection. My favorite songs on here are "I'll Never Break Your Heart", I'll Be Your Everything", "The Saga Begins", "We Will Rock You", "We Are the Champions, "Boom Da Boom", and "Girl You Shine". Originally, my sister brought this album and I liked it so I made a copy of it on the computer. So if you like Radio Disney, then go out and buy this CD!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best dancing, singing, upbeat CD anywhere
This CD has some of the most fun to dance to and listen to songs ever. My kids have been listening to it for 3 years now and still are not tired of it. My (picky) son (now 6) and daughter (now 5) will both dance to it. Actually, it's a whole family event.

The night before my husband deployed to Bosnia, the whole family was depressed and down. Trying to liven things up so we wouldn't always remember the depressing last few moments with my husband, I put in this CD. Talk about brightening things up! We were all singing and dancing with everyone smiling. I still enjoy remembering that evening. It's all thanks to Radio Disney.

This is without a doubt a "Disney Wholesome" CD with no explicit lyrics. This is definitely our family favorite. It could be yours too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great CD
Of course it's from Disney so it's most always likely gonna be great. This is a great selection of songs for anyone with the kid in us. I listen to it over and over.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great CD for All Ages
I bought this CD out of curiosity a couple of years ago and have found a whole new avenue of music. This CD is jammed with songs that I never get tired of listening to. My kids, 13 and 6, both beg to hear it every time we get in the car. I recommend it for all ages, young and young-at-heart! Since this first purchase, I have bought other Disney CD's and have never been disappointed!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for Kids
My 3 and 6-year old LOVE to dance and sing along to this CD. It may not be true to all the themes of the movie, as another reviewer suggests, but it's really a fun listen for children. Some of the more adult lyrics from "Joy to the World" are even replaced with kid-friendly lyrics. Taken at face value, this is a good CD for children and it's fun for them to hear the original songs after hearing the covers on this disc.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute but wouldn't be worth the price of a regular CD.
Some of these songs are worth owning. I admit I only bought the CD because 1) I am completely and utterly obsessed with "Finding Nemo," 2)The box was cute, it had Gurgle on the back XD, 3) Many of the tracks looked pretty decent, and 4) the price. Well, here's what I found:

1. Sea Cruise--an original song that we KNOW is an original song (by that I mean, not written for the movie or the CD) because we've heard it before. Good song. 4/5 stars.
2. Fish School. Sort of a lame exercise in songwriting. 2/5 stars.
3. Gone Fishin'. I do not understand why they would select songs about fishing for a movie whose tagline is "FISH ARE FRIENDS, NOT FOOD"! Seriously, they need to learn that just because a song mentions the word FISH in it DOES NOT necessarily make it a fish song, and it doesn't always belong in an "Ocean Favorites" collection!! A reasonably enjoyable tune, however...just inappropriate. 2/5 stars.
4. Joy to the World. An "OK" song with at least *some*thing to do with fish. I thought this was the Christmas song "Joy to the World" and thought, "OH WOW! A Nemo Christmas carol?! Must have it!" Sadly it was a bit of a disappointment in that respect. 3/5 stars.
5. Under the Waves. Not so bad but forgettable. 3/5 stars.
6. Catch a Wave. This one's a stretch; it's a song about surfing, and there's no surfing in the film at all.
7. Octopus's Garden. A bizarre little tune about being in an octopus's garden in the sea! Has a recognizable rhythm to it; not bad. 4/5 stars.
8. Turtle Rock. Another song about a dance no one knows how to do! But, it's cute...a nice beat, catchy words, appropriate for the movie. The one line about "A little starfish is gonna dance with me" makes me think of Peach in the ocean dancing with the singer!!! 4/5 stars.
9. Fishin' Blues. A little folksong about a woman taking her baby fishing! Again, what is with the fishing songs?! 2/5 stars.
10. Saturday Night Fish Fry. This is by far the WORST! It's absolutely HORRIBLE! This song doesn't belong on the CD. It's a song about a guy who goes to New Orleans and parties all night at a big fish fry! Yes, isn't it awful?! A FISH FRY! One of those senseless, pointless gatherings of chubby folk to eat a bunch of fried fish. This REALLY demonstrates the principle of throwing a stupid song on a CD just because it mentions the topic once or twice. This has nothing to do with fish except for eating them! It's about a party! It goes against the movie with its fish-friendly theme! 0/5 stars!!! (Okay, 1/5. They like when you don't do the whole 0/5 thing.)
11. Wipe Out. Great instrumental that you've definitely heard before. B-) 5/5 stars.
12. Three Little Fishies. A song about 3 fish like Nemo who stray from their mom, meet a shark, and then swim back to her in fear. 3/5 stars.
13. Beyond the Sea. NOT the same rendition as on the soundtrack! This is the best song on the CD. It's sung by a woman, and it's terrific! Fresh, new sound, but not too different from the original. 5/5 stars.

So...judge for yourself whether it's worth buying or not.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sea Songs.
Disney knows how to market and as much as I hate to admit it, I'm a sucker for some of their strategies almost as much as anyone else, even though I know Michael Eisner is just trying to take over the world. Anyway, just as they did with LILO AND STITCH, Disney has released a second album containing songs not found in the movie, but songs supposedly "inspired" by the film. However, all of these songs were originally written and recorded years before FINDING NEMO was even considered by Pixar. The songs on OCEAN FAVORITES are quite catchy and upbeat with hardly a slow song in the mix. Included in a couple of places on the album, for instance just before "Wipe Out", are some snippets of dialogue by supporting characters in FINDING NEMO.

My favorite songs on the album include:

"Sea Cruise"

"Wipe Out"

"Three Little Fishies"

The version of "Beyond the Sea" is sung by a female artist and isn't anywhere near as enchanting as the version on the FINDING NEMO soundtrack or the original song. "Joy to the World" isn't bad, but the Hoyt Axton version is still my favorite, even over Three Dog Night's version of the song. Overall, this is a nice album to own, even though none of the songs are sung by the original artists. I've played several of the songs from the album on my Internet radio show, and they were well received. Great listening! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An amazing collection of Disney songs
Being a major Disney fan, I loved this cd. It has most of my favorite Disney songs, such as Part of Your World, Something There, and Be Our Guest. I especially love how it includes the Main Street Electrical Parade, It's a Small World, and the Mickey Mouse Club March on the cd. I also own the first volume and have listened to the others. I feel that this is the best one and you should go out and pick it up. It's an amazing cd and it definitely makes you relive those childhood moments!

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific!
This collection is incredible. I own 4 of the 5 cd's in the set and I adore them. I am an absolute Disney fanatic so I am hard to please sometimes. This volume and the 1st volume are definately the best. I love all of the songs especially Part of Your World and some of the less well known like Feed the Birds (this was Walt's fav song from Mary Poppins) Mickey Mouse Club March, and the Main Street Electrical Parade song! I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Disney.

5-0 out of 5 stars 60 Years of Musical Magic
If you love Disney music you'll love this second volume of highlights from the best of Disney movies and television!

Included on this disc are "Be Our Guest", "Gaston" and "Something There" from BEAUTY AND THE BEAST; "One Jump Ahead" from ALADDIN; "So This is Love" from CINDRELLA and "Best of Friends" from THE FOX AND THE HOUND.

Selections from Disney's live-action musicals include "The Age of Not Believing" from BEDKNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS (performed by Angela Lansbury), "Feed the Birds" , "Supercalifragilisticeexpialidocious" and "Let's Go Fly a Kite" from MARY POPPINS; and "Candle on the Water" from PETE'S DRAGON, performed by Helen Reddy.

There are also selections from the theme-parks, including "Main Street Electrical Parade" of 1979, with melodies from PETE'S DRAGON and ALICE IN WONDERLAND included in the arrangement; and the memorable "Mickey Mouse Club March".

If you love Disney music, you'll delight in this superb album.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Second Compilation from Disney
The concept of issuing musical selections from Disney's movies, features and other areas of their world of entertainment continues to be quite satisfying. If you love the world that Walt Disney created and has continued on to this day, this is another CD that continues to give you little musical vignettes across that span of time that are very nostalgic and uplifting as they did with the first one. Track 1: "Be Our Guest" from BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is really well written in the grand style of the old Hollywood musicals. Track 8: "Candle on the Water" from PETE'S DRAGON is beautifully written and performed. Track 15: "It's a Small World (After All)" is now a timeless classic and a musical icon very representative of Walt Disney's vision for societies of the future. This is one of the best volumes of the set.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best of the Best
This is quite possibly the best of all of the Disney Classic Cds. Beleive me, I own each and every one. I fall asleep to them, eat to them, dace to them, sing to them. I love all of the song so much I can sing each of them without the cd or the words in the order they are on the cd. Definatly a must have and perfect for anyone who needs a little Disney in their life. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The entire CD is great!!!
You don't even have to be a fan of country music to love this CD, just a fan of Disney! Some of the best country artists provide great new renditions of Disney Classics. Great album, 5 stars all the way!

5-0 out of 5 stars super music :)
If you like both Disney and country music, it's the one you got to have!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best of Both Worlds
This CD has everything. If you love country, it has twelve songs sung by different country singers and groups. If you love Disney, it has some of the best known Disney songs ever. The singers picked to sing each song are phenomenal! A different review pointed out that you don't need to be a lover of Disney AND country to love this, because you can truly appreciate this CD for what it is, some of the most beautifully sung Disney music out there. Oh, and if you feel that you've heard these songs too many times anyway, you should also know this. Some songs, especially SOME DAY MY PRINCE WILL COME, have been redone completely. I'd actually have to say in that case it was an improvement;) But don't just take my word for it. Listen and enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars An unlikely combination far better than I expected
The nineties yielded many tribute albums by country artists. I bought several of them, but I avoided this one for many years. No way could I imagine that this album would be for me, until I discovered this site and read some of the reviews. On the basis of some of those reviews, I bought this album and discovered that it is a masterpiece. It is ostensibly a children's album, but none of the songs are obvious children's songs. All the songs would comfortably take their place on standard albums by the relevant artists.

It is hard to pick out favorites, but Tanya Tucker is in her element singing Someday my prince will come, while the pairing of Hal Ketchum and Shelby Lynne on If I never knew you is inspired. Faith Hill's performance on Part of your world is flawless. Bryan White closes the set with a magnificent rendition of When you wish upon a star.

The songs are all from Disney movies. There are two each from Pocahontas and The little mermaid, plus one each from Beauty and the beast, Snow white and the seven dwarfs, Dumbo, Aladdin, Toy story, The lion king and Pinocchio.

This collection caused me to revise my attitude to children's music. Sure, there is a lot of it that is definitely unappealing to adults, but there are some really great albums out there which will appeal to everybody. This is definitely one of them. Oh - and if you don't like country, don't worry. This is a well-crafted album that should appeal to country and non-country fans alike.

5-0 out of 5 stars Country Disney
Love it! Love it! Love It! Best Disney tape. My grandchildren listen to it all the time in my car and they are age 7,13, 15, and 23. We all sing along for hours playing it over and over and over again. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Shame on Me!!!
Didn't read the reviews. Shame on me. Shame on Disney. This is nothing more than a CD - there are many fine Disney CD's to pick from. Stock must be really hurting that they have to bite the hand that feeds them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good CD - for what it is!
Yes, I've read some of the other reviews, and no, it's not "really" a karaoke CD,but for a Disney sing-along - this is great. Young and old will enjoy singing with this CD and the words are given in the liner. Get it and enjoy it!

1-0 out of 5 stars Useful info in buying Karaoke CD's
I host a Karaoke show in Nashville. I have never bought Disney Karaoke CD's. However, I will offer you one tip. A lot of people are mislead by "Karaoke Cd". Always read on the disc and make sure it says CD+G on it. I bought some Chartbuster Karaoke CD's that were on clearance for 2.99 each. I thought I had a deal. It was just that-a CD and not a CD+G (Compact disc + graphics). Fortunatly, they took them back and refunded my money. Karaoke CD's are usually just background music.

1-0 out of 5 stars disney karaoke
I am very upset - I bought all three and no onscreen lyrics - why would I buy a karaoke cd without them? I feel that I just wasted 41 dollars.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
You would think that Disney would provide the highest quality product. I purchased Disney Karaoke 1-4 at Disneyland, thinking I would get "the real thing." Well, their vocal demonstration tracks were NOT the original songs but were sung by others, and the words are only printed on an inside liner, not embedded in the discs. In other words, these are just song and music discs with no graphics at all. You can play them in a karaoke machine and you might as well be playing them in a regular CD player. If you plan on singing these songs, either memorize the words or carry the cumbersome songbook wherever you go. Not worth it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Great The Best CD In the whole World!!!
THIS IS THE BEST FREAKY CD IN THE WHOLE WORLD! O MY GOSH YOU HAVE TO ORDER IT TODAY!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for children !
I just love it! Nice music for children.

5-0 out of 5 stars Grannny's opinion
Maybe this music doesn't suit the older kids...but it's perfect for my preteen grandkids....they are the ones this music is written for, and they are the ones who listen to it.....I'm glad there is still some good, clean, music for our children to hear.

1-0 out of 5 stars I'd Give It 0 Stars If I Could
Who listens to this junk! All these songs are old and annoying. The people who make these should grow up.

3-0 out of 5 stars If you like Radio Disney...
If you like Radio Disney you'll probably like this CD since these are all Radio Disney faves. Do I like them? No, but they are innocent and fun enough for the kiddies.

The only reason I even checked the CD out is because I heard Lalaine's song "You Wish" (a popular radio disney tune) was supposed be on this cd, but it's mysteriously been replaced by the A*teens. Oh well, if you're a Lalaine fan you can spend the money buying it on her own cd from her website. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Disney Fan
This is a GREAT album! It's a must-buy! I laughed and laughed. If you want to get your kids to take a bath, turn on the song "The Good News Is....you're gonna take a bath," and that will get them going! It's a rock-and-roll ditty which will make your kids' daily bathing ritual a lot more fun! I highly recommend this very cute album. As usual, it's Disney and it's first rate!

5-0 out of 5 stars My daughters LOVE this CD
This is packed with great songs. Maybe it's just the memories we have singing along with these for the past few years, but this has definitely been the favorite thing to pop in the car or stereo at home for my daughters. We wore the tape out completely, so I was very happy to find it here on CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars More silly songs
This tape is great. We keep it in the van and my four children (age 4-13) listen (and sing loudly) to it regularly as we are driving down the road. Little Red Riding Hood is very cleverly done, and Sunny Sunny Day is wonderful. Most songs are sing-a-long songs, with only one or two that we really don't like.

5-0 out of 5 stars A very funny album
I bought this album for my daughter when she was two years old and we've been listening to it ever since. Several of the songs, "Does your chewing gum loose its flavor," "Purple People Eater" appear in other albums as well, but this album, in my opinion, has the best rendition of these songs. "It's a Sunny Sunny Day" is hilarious. I had to buy the album again because the first one got damaged by our car stereo.

1-0 out of 5 stars Yikes! At least a 9 on the parent irritation scale.
I bought this CD for our 12-month-old son. He's not too interested in it. I think it would appeal more to the 3-6 year old crowd.

Not only that, but the songs are pretty irritating. In fact, I've put it on about 3 times, but have never been able to bear listening to the whole thing. By the time it gets to The Spectrum Song, which is sung in a German accent with a lot of unnecessarily rolled R's, I'm ready to switch to something else. If you want a cute kid's album with silly songs, get John Lithgow's "Singin' in the Bathtub." I sing those songs to myself when I'm at work! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Playhouse Disney CD is a keeper
My kids love this CD and it's actually listenable for adults in the car. Disney has some very talented people behind the voices and the music which set it apart from other kids music. Tony from Out of the Box has some fun songs here along with Bear in the Big Blue House and the Baja Men singing theme from Stanley. I bought this for my two young children. But the tunes are catchy for adults too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute CD with great songs!
This CD is a fun, not too long CD your little one will enjoy. My 2 year old daughter really enjoyed it because she is a BIG Playhouse Disney watcher. The first time we played it in the house she thought the t.v. was broken. She didn't understand why she couldn't see her favorite shows. It's a great CD to keep in the car for short trips. The songs are short enough to hold young one's attention span. The only thing I didn't like about the CD was that it didn't have the theme song to Bear in the Big Blue House. It has theme songs from all the other shows, so you'd think it would, but it doesn't. Overall, cute little CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Get it--- you will NOT regret it!!!!
I adore this CD! Filled with fabulous, fun songs an adult can actually stomach after the second, even third time around.
Both the original Playhouse Disney & #2 are well worth the listening time and $$$!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars you the parent will be singing along!
i'm so happy this is available! i love singing along with the songs every saturday morning! i think i'm re-living my childhood through my son. playhouse dinsney songs are the best. can't wait to pick up #2.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's just okay...
I like this CD, but in my opinion it's a little heavy on the songs from Bear in the Big Blue House and The Book of Pooh. My children would like it better if there were fewer songs from those shows and more from the others. ... Read more
