Working in radio for 10 years, I never experience the joy of music until this cd came along!!! As a Christian mother, I always check my child's music before I allow him or her to listen it. 5-0 out of 5 stars Mommy and Me sing along collection
The Humpty Dumpty & Old Macdonald Discs are the best!! My daughter (12 months) loves them & has for 3-4 months. I pop them in whenever she is getting bored of PBS or Mommy & needs a pick me up. She likes to sing along to some of them. The Twinkle Twinkle & Mary Had a Little Lamb are a little more subdued but still nice to listen to. This collection is worth the price if not just for the 2 discs.

Warning: YOU WILL START SINGING THESE SONGS IN YOUR HEAD EVERYWHERE YOU GO!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mother of Twins
I purchased this CD with a collection of other Baby's First and my twins absolutely LOVE the music. I purchased them when they were 9 months old and now at 1 year, they still start bouncing up and down when we play them. It always works when they start to get fussy--especially in the car on long road trips. Mom and Dad enjoy singing a long.

5-0 out of 5 stars Baby's First Nursery Rhymes
Both my children enjoy this CD so much. Whenever there tried and craby I just put this CD on and they both get so happy. I
highly recommend this CD to parents who are in the car often.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not the Classics
Being a strict purist when it comes to the classic nursery rhymes, I was very disappointed when I listened to this CD. Not only do none of the songs sound like the original nursery rhymes, they all sound the same. Sadly, I found that the tune the artist chose became irritating after a few songs. Additionally, the songs do not blend well together. They come to abrupt end and then there is a brief pause or break in between each number. If you really want your child to learn nursery rhymes, you may prefer to order Baby Genius's Favorite Nursery Rhymes, (which maintains the purity of the original) or Bananas in Pajamas, It's Singing Time, A Collection of Nursery Rhymes (which incorporates some fun while teaching the nursery rhymes.) ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Special Note to Oboe Lovers
This CD is worth buying if only for John de Lancie's famous rendition of the Marcello Oboe Concerto (the whole concerto is included), which is the best I have ever heard. His interpretation of the soaring slow movement is especially beautiful. The sound is very clear and the other selections too are quite good, with perhaps a little too much emphasis on the pompous... But never mind all that: if you like the oboe as much as I do, this is probably one of the best available examples of de Lancie's wonderful sound and definitely worth the price of the whole CD! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good Music
The songs in this CD are catchy and children love them. Having the songs in both languages is helpful. I play this tape in a children's tape player with a microphone. My children and their friends will sing along with the tape especially to the "Hello" song. Children will enjoy and be encouraged by hearing the recordings of other children singing on the tape. My only criticism is the pronunciation. Since Spanish is my first language, I am very sensitive to correct pronunciation. The English accent is prevalent through out the tape. Nonetheless, the songs are wonderful and I use the tape frequently. I just sing louder so the children can hear correct pronunciation. I am often praised on my children's Spanish and this tape is one of my tools. ... Read more

Here's an album that will produce Zzzs over fidgety, fretful little foreheads faster than you can piece together the second verse of "Hush Little Baby," and it will satisfy grownups in search of meditation music that's not too drippy. Close your eyes for Cesar Berlanga's peaceful, reassuring "Todo Ya Esta en Calma" (from Spain) or Steve Gorn's instrumental "Saraswati's Dream" (India), with its whispery bamboo flute and Dobros, and it's déjà vu, not just tranquility, that washes over you. Isn't this the same gorgeous stuff that transported you far from your troubles last time you indulged in aromatherapy? As with other titles in the series, a booklet complete with lyric translations, thoughtful commentary on each track, and the artist's e-mail address slips into its own attractively designed cardboard sleeve. The record's intended bragging point, of course, is its reach. A dozen or so languages deliver a single message--that music has the power to put us in touch with our nurturing sides. --Tammy La Gorce ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This CD is astoundingly Beautiful
What a jewel in the crown of Children's music. You just have to hear the song "Dormi, Dormi" and you will be hooked. It is just exquisitely beautiful. I have several CDs in this series, but this one takes the prize. This one and Papa's Lullaby are my favorites. GET THEM!

5-0 out of 5 stars Not just for the little ones!
Although the word Lullaby might be connected with putting the young ones to bed, this collection of soothing bed-time music will appeal to all who desire a warm earthy soundscape to relex to. Hats off once again to Jeff & Russell Charno at Ellipsis Arts.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is one of the best albums of any kind.....
One of the best albums I have bought in many, many months. Saw it at ..., with several others in the series, and it spoke to me. The guy behind the counter played it for me and I had goosebumps from the first note. What a wonderful listening CD. I did not know it was a kids album until I got it home and read the back of the cover. Delicious, soft, world music. Your baby will be unable to resist the gentle whisper of these gorgeous melodies. As an adult, even more appreciative. Hats off to the company who put these out. How about an adult series??!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful CD for your nursery!
As a first time parent I want to give my child every advantage I can. Studies have shown that playing music to your child helps to enhance their learning ability.

I saw "Baby's First" cd series and as they were so affordable I decided to go ahead and buy them without hearing them first.

My decision has been rewarded! The cd's are very good, and provide hours of music to stimulate my babies mind.

Buy this CD today, you won't be disappointed, and neither will your youngsters! :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Peewee Piano
I love this Baby's First Series! Don't let the title fool you...the CDs are for ANYONE. They are soothing, calming and so incredibly well-done...not to mention, SO inexpensive! I have sent them to many friends who have kids as new baby gifts, birthday gifts, gifts for the sibling of a new baby, Happy Summer, thank you, etc. Every person who has received one of these CDs has called to rave about it. I use this Piano Music CD and the others in the series in my daughters' room at quiet time and sleepytime, and they love them. They choose a different one every night. They especially like the Fairy Tales and the Guitar Baby's First CDs. The oldest is 4, and the youngest is 2. I also teach 5th grade, and I always have soothing music on in my room, even when I'm teaching and during tests. It promotes brainpower and cuts down on the conflicts (I'm convinced of this...) I use the Baby's First CDs in my classroom, too, and the kids love them (particularily GUITAR and MUSIC FROM AROUND THE WORLD). Discover the affordable and high quality world of the Baby's First Series (Christmas, Toyland is a classic that I will be sending to all of my friends in November, regardless of age!) ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Volume Control
This is a good CD as far as the content of the CD, BUT whoever made this CD had no consideration of the recording levels between tracks. One song will be nice a smooth and quiet, then the next track will blow you away. It literally wakes up my child after he has fallen asleep. Out of a volume scale of 10 we have the first song on 5 to barely have it playing in the background for him to sleep, then the next track we have to turn it to 2 becasue it wakes him up, then we have to adjust it to 4 on the next. SOOOO if you are going to stay with him the whole time and be able to change the volume for each song, this CD is for you. I wish I can get my money back but it has been too long. Sooo on to find the next CD for him!...

4-0 out of 5 stars Better than Most
This was mostly an enjoyable CD. Maybe more to me than my toddler, though. Some of the songs are almost depressing, so we just skip them. For the most part they are fun and upbeat, and with a little effort, I can get my 18 month old to wiggle his butt to the music. This CD is a great value for anyone who wants to foster an appreciation for music in their child, not just their babies.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
I have owned and played this CD ever since my son was born!(he is now 2.5 yrs. old)

The music always seemed to soothe him when he was crying or agitated. Over the past couple of years it has worked wonders..it has now become the "if nothing else works" CD. It Always helps him to calm down at nap time. Helps him concentrate when we are reading together. Sometimes if I have some important work to do, it helps him stay calm and non-disruptive.

I had read about the positive effects of classical music on children, and I must say, I totally agree.

I am also a violin player, and really have respect for classical music, so it gives me a satisfaction that I am giving my son some quality, mind-strengthening music.

If you like classical or not, this CD is excellent for your children, and indirectly it will be good for you too! It is an excellent gift for new parents too.

One piece of advice I would like to give to those of you who are not really familiar with classical music. If the sound is new to you, listen to this at a low volume, because the soft music may suddenly swith to loud full-on sounds, so if it's up high, it may surprize you!

Hope your children enjoy it! ... Read more

A Child's Celebration of Classical Music, like its esteemed peers in the Music for Little People series, is not only of superior quality, it caters to the interest of kids without dumbing down the music. Beginning with the lively Boston Pops Orchestra rendition of "In the Hall of the Mountain King," this collection draws the listener into worlds created by orchestral majesty, powerful buildups, and exquisite narrative. Meryl Streep's buttery tones preface Ravel's magically ruminative "Sleeping Beauty" and Carol Channing is simply marvelous in her telling of the giggle-inducing yarn of "Gerald McBoing Boing," as set to strings and drums, cymbal clashes, and horn accents. David Bowie provides a distinguished narration to Prokofiev's nearly-30-minute-long "Peter and the Wolf" suite, a classic which still thrills and delights audiences half a century after the composer's death. Throughout, children will delight in distinguishing the wide array of instruments and the sounds they represent.--Paige La Grone ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great intro for children to the world of classical music
There are lots of collections that introduce children to the wonders of Classical Music, but "A Child's Celebration of Classical Music" from the Music for Little People series has got to be one of the best. Most of the pieces of "child friendly" because they involve human narration: David Bowie doing "Peter and the Wolf," Meryl Streep doing "Sleeping Beauty," Carol Channing doing "Gerald McBoing Boing" and the wonderful Danny Kaye doing "Tubby the Tuba." But children will be equally fascinated with Bobby McFerrin doing "Music Box" with just the sounds coming out of his talent mouth and the Symfunny Orchestra doing Handel's "Water Music" on toy instruments, both of which are simply amazing to those of us who have trouble just humming along with a CD. The first piece, with Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops doing "In the Hall of the Mountain King" is the only traditionally done classical piece on this album. This album is an absolute joy and a nice introduction to the other CDs in this series. Besides, it is not like you have to still BE a kid to enjoy these CDs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!!!
Kids will eat this up! The selection of readers and singers are brilliant. Not only will the stories entertain children but they will learn from a young age that classical dosn't mean boring! Danny Kaye is one of my favorite people. His voice has always captured me somehow. I have seen my siblings listen in amazement to Boby McFerrin's amazing "voice". His portrayel of a music box is highly impressive. The way this CD combines the old with the new, the humorous with the soothing, and the music with the story telling, leaves me feeling up-lifted and calm. A complete must-have for children and adults alike! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not just the music, but the lyrics too!
Unlike the "Carl Stalling Project" CDs, the tracks on this collection focus on songs that were sung in Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies cartoons. Some of it is really funny, of course, and some of it seems to be included more for straight nostalgic reasons. The songs performed by vocal groups of 6 to 8 decades ago are nice to hear, bring back memories of the cartoons, and give a real good impression of popular music styles of the time, with the highlight being Fred Waring's Glee Club performing "Dear Teacher" from KATNIP KOLLEGE. But it's the funny stuff that really shines here. Mel Blanc as Bugs Bunny doing the hilarious "Square Dancin'" calls from HILLBILLY HARE, Arthur Q. Bryan as Elmer Fudd singing "Oh Susanna" in THE WACKY WABBIT, and Sara Berner as a flea singing "Food Around The Corner" in AN ITCH IN TIME will make anyone laugh. I don't think it's possible not to laugh at some of this stuff. Of the complete soundtracks included, the highlight is BACK ALLEY OPROAR. I think it's so funny when Sylvester starts singing Brahm's "Lullaby" to Elmer Fudd and Elmer yells "Stop it!"
I really appreciate the book that's included because it tells you the history of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, gives great information about the animation business in general during Hollywood's golden age, and introduces you to the producers, animators, musicians, singers and voice actors who made it all happen. My only complaint with the book is that where each song is listed in the back, the vocal is credited to the character rather than the performer. For instance, it says "Five O'Clock Whistle" is performed by Little Red Riding Hood. So one has to scan the pages of the essay about the voice actors and singers to find out that the role of Little Red Riding Hood is voiced by Bea Benaderet. But that's really a small complaint. By the way, it's Benaderet in LITTLE RED RIDING RABBIT who has the funniest line of this whole collection when she says "It's a little bunny rabbit I'm takin' to my Grandma...to have, see!"
My only complaint with the recording itself is that in the montage sections, sometimes a favorite sequence is cut too short for my liking. When Bugs Bunny makes his first delivery stop in EASTER YEGGS, I was hoping to hear the kid who says "...I want an Easter egg, I want an Easter egg, I want an Easter egg..." but it's not there.
It also should go without saying that it's great to have WHAT'S OPERA, DOC? complete and that fans of Stan Freberg and Shorty Rogers will revel in the inclusion of THREE LITTLE BOPS.
There are some complaints in other reviews here about the sound quality. Some tracks on the "Carl Stalling Project" discs sound a little cleaner, but they were able to go back to the original tapes in a lot of cases because they were just remastering the music. Here, you're getting the music and the voices. Overall, I think the sound quality is rather good for recordings of this age.
This is highly recommended to all fans of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies.

2-0 out of 5 stars Terrible addition to the Looney Tunes music library
Daniel Goldmark said in an interview on the Rhino Records website that, "...people remember the characters singing rather then [carl stallings scores]". This is somewhat true, considering whenever a Looney Tune character sings, it's either revolving around a gag or ment to be funny, and that's why people remember them. But to me, a Looney Tunes enthusist, I'd much rather hear isolated Carl Stalling/Milt Franklin recordings for "Book Revue", "What's Opera, Doc?", and "Three Little Bops", which are all fantastic cartoons and feature superb music from Carl Stalling, Milt Franklin, and Shorty Rogers. This collection has a good choice of cartoons, but a terrible presintation. First off, the sound has NOT been re-mastered at all, and it sounds no better that if you taped it off of your TV. Sure it's easier to be able to select the cartoons with out fast-fowarding, but that doesn't make this album work. I think many fans would have welcomed a 3rd volume of the Carl Stalling Project over this volume any day.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent listening for the Looney Tunes fan, long overdue
This CD collection is a wonderful collection of the works of Carl Stalling and countless other performers and composers. This contains clips and complete soundtracks from dozens of cartoons from a variety of time periods. Other reviewers here have touched on flaws and noted that this is only for the serious Looney Tunes fans who visit those Looney Tunes websites. Well guess what, I'm one of those Looney Tunes fan guys (. . .)I love it personally, and I think this kind of collection is long overdue. True, it leaves off a few of the more popular titles, but what is included instead is far more valuable. Such highlights include the complete "Have You Got any Castles", a medley of tunes from such politically-incorrect masterpieces as "Tin Pan Alley Cats" and "Clean Pastures", and a bunch of memorable Bugs Bunny songs previously unreleased. The best thing about this CD is that it includes the voices, not just music, and actually has a wonderfully detailed essay explaining just who you're listening to, without erroniously crediting everyhting to Mel Blanc, who, while a genius himself, did not voice all of the memorable bits in these cartoons. True, many people may not have heard some of these, but folks, it's time to learn just how much classic stuff Warner Bros. has not shown you before. They should. This CD is hopefully a step in the right direction.
My only complaints would be the fact that not enough Harman-Ising era cartoons are included, and the songs are put together on long, themed tracks, rather than as individual tracks that are easily navigable. There is also a lot more they could have included, and I hope more volumes of this are planned, it would be a sin to stop here.
-Matthew

2-0 out of 5 stars Catering only to experts depresses revenue for future discs!
The first reviewer is right that this is a disappointing collection. The booklet has great pictures, but really the main essay on Looney Tune history is boiled down from a preface from a book already available, and after all, it's not 1975 anymore -- this information is no longer exactly difficult to get from many sources.

The two Stalling discs are wonderful in their way, but I have always suspected that a great many people buy them attracted to the cover art and concept but then are rather bored listening to, say, Road Runner cartoon scores which, without the picture, are in essence rather abstract bits of this and that, and excerpts from the soundtracks of cartoons only diehard buffs have even heard of. These CDs strike me as best aimed at people who combine being Looney Tunes fanatics and trained musicians, and that's a small bunch.

One always wished there were a CD with the Looney Tune music that the layman fan remembered. The BUGS BUNNY ON BROADWAY CD takes care of much of this, which left a particular gap: a CD with music from cartoons not exactly blockbuster common coin, but still enjoyable to the ordinary listener. That is not this CD.

As for the shorter excerpts, there are many gems. I dare anyone not to grin listening to Red Riding Hood's "The Five O'Clock Whistle", for instance, and there are many similar moments. But the first reviewer is right -- there is too much key stuff missing. No disc could satisfy everybody; everyone would wish something were there that they cherish. But the people putting this one together could have come closer to the mark for everyone by trimming the great many clips from, again, cartoons no one has heard of beyond the hardcore fans who patronize the Looney Tunes websites, etc.

Of course, some such clips are hidden gems anyone might like (the college song from THE DOVER BOYS) -- but I fear most will strike the unintiated as rather unmotivated (various choral renditions). These are designed to make the Looney Tune maniac go "Oh yeah -- that's from PAGAN MOON!" But a CD that coasts too much on that kind of thing will not satisfy most people, even interested ones.

Then there are some really odd choices for the six full soundtracks. WHAT'S OPERA DOC is nice, but we already have that on BUGS BUNNY ON BROADWAY. BOOK REVUE is cherished by major fans, but it really has to be SEEN -- this cartoon does not register significantly as a soundtrack alone, and I am frankly baffled as to why HAVE YOU GOT ANY CASTLES? was included at all.

Why would a CD like this NOT include, for example, ONE FROGGY EVENING, seven minutes of delightful music, familiar to laymen but offering riches for the buff as well? For some of the early cartoons, the Abe Lyman orchestra burned up the soundtrack -- when I was a teen I used to listen to the whole PAGAN MOON recorded from my TV speaker just for fun (and the singing of the title song itself, included on this CD, was perhaps the LEAST interesting part of the score!). Why not one of these instead of HAVE YOU GOT ANY CASTLES? KATNIP KOLLEGE was a great idea -- but in that vein, where is I HAVEN'T GOT A HAT, Porky Pig's debut and a great score and funny soundtrack throughout besides? Instead of BOOK REVUE, LITTLE RED RIDING RABBIT would have been a great listen for its musical quality alone -- BESIDES the "Five O'Clock Whistle" rendition there is the "Put on Your Old Grey Bonnet" sequence followed by a wonderful Stalling arrangement of "They're Always Too Young or Too Old" timed to a chase up and down steps; I have always loved the soundtrack alone of this one. WHAT'S UP DOC?, SHOW BIZ BUGS, THE TORTOISE WINS BY A HARE -- there are so many cartoons that could have served better than so much of what is here.

And I second the first reviewer -- COAL BLACK AND DE SEBBEN DWARVES is obviously one of the best Looney Tunes scores hands-down, and as for the possible controversy from people too historically blinkered to have mastered historical perspective and have a sense of humor -- well, append a sincere acknowledgment that the material is to be seen with a historical lens and then let the PC squad yell; they have no real power. Most such people are not exactly old cartoon fans anyway and thus none of them might even notice. (It is perhaps germane to note that I am black myself and feel this way.) TIN PAN ALLEY CATS is a similar gap here.

Folks, if you do another one of these, please keep the LISTENER in mind. Anyone who loves these cartoons enough to cherish the likes of HAVE YOU GOT ANY CASTLES has it on video or laser anyway; a CD for the general public is to be enjoyed in the car by a wider range of people. It's time, I suspect, for the Beau Hunks to record a CD of Looney Tune scores from the original parts -- now THAT would be a treat.

3-0 out of 5 stars That's All Folks! (But it's not enough!)
This is an decent enough sampling of some of the Warner Bros. cartoons' best musical moments. It even boasts packaging that is second to none! It's a nice companion piece to the two "Carl Stalling Project" CDs that are available separately. But, make sure you have both of those disks *before* you purchase this item.

The songs that this collection contains are wonderful, but you may be disappointed when you find that your favorite tune is not here. Each of the two disks is under 60 minutes long. Since CDs can hold 80 minutes of music, why not add more stuff? Some songs that should have been here, aren't...

The other negative aspect of this set is the overall sound quality. If you were expecting the surprisingly good sound of the Carl Stalling Project disks, you may want to listen to this one before you buy. It sounds like the tunes were lifted from prints of the films themselves (which they probably were). Since most hard-core collectors already have Hi-Fi video or laserdisk copies of these films in their collections, there is nothing here you haven't heard before.

There, now that the negative aspects are out of the way, let's look at what this set has going for it. First of all, the 100-page book is a trove of information. In addition to information on the WB composers and voice artists, composer credits for each song are given. This is something that has been long overdue. It's great to be able to learn exactly what Bugs was singing and who wrote it!

The compilers have included the complete soundtracks to six cartoons, including the classic "Three Little Bops". This is an often overlooked cartoon due to the fact that it doesn't feature any of the regular WB characters. The jazzy score by Shorty Rogers and the wonderful vocal performance by Stan Freberg make this the coolest addition to this collection (in my opinion).

If Rhino and Warner Bros. decide to release a second volume of 'toon tunes, I would hope that they'd consider these selections: - Bugs Bunny Bond Rally - Coal Black in the Sebben Dwarfs (OK, the filmed images aren't politically correct, but this cartoon's score is one of the best that they ever did!) - I'm Just Wild About Hymie (from "Daffy Duck Slept Here") - April Showers (from "Wet Hare") - Yankee Doodle Daffy (complete score) - The Latin Quarter (from "Daffy Duck Hunt") - Bugs' scat routine from "Hot Cross Bunny" - Carrots Wait For No One (from "To Hare is Human") - The calypso tune Bugs sings in "8 Ball Bunny" - Jimmy Crack Corn (from "Lumber Jack Rabbit") - There's No Place Like Rome (from "Upswept Hare)

Somehow, after looking at the list of what's NOT included in this collection, I'm tempted to knock another star off of my rating. There is just too much cool stuff missing from these disks.... ... Read more

Country Goes Raffi is the kind of feel-good disc for kids and parents that's destined to be played again and again. Raffi's music has always had an uplifting spirit, and his durable and gentle voice has made him a defining artist for kids who have grown up in the past 25 years. So it should be no surprise that when 13 of country's coolest singers and groups, from Asleep at the Wheel to Kathy Mattea, salute him, the result is an unbridled success. Whether it's the very young country star Billy Gilman serenading with "Baby Beluga," Marty Stuart celebrating organic farmers in "Naturally," or Rhonda Vincent's sweet version of "Bananaphone," your smile just grows as the CD spins. Alison's Krauss's "Blessed Be" ought be playing in every home and on every station these days. But it's "Blue White Planet," Raffi's new song, which he sings, that joyfully transcends all the happy moments and wonderfully frames our blue orb in the proper poetic context that the cosmos intended for it. --Martin Keller ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Country Goes Raffi
This CD is wonderful to have in the car. Keeps my three children singing and laughing. Had to buy a copy after borrowing one from the library. My son wanted to know "why we didn't have a copy of it." It's great!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars my girl is only 3 months old and she "loves" it
or at least her momma does. like another reviewer, i am neither a raffi nor country (tho I do like 'alt-country') fan but i dig this disc and have made several of the songs part of our daily ritual with the babe. I think she likes Baby Beluga best, but you know i really can't be sure.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great children's music!
This CD is a great addition to any collection of children's music. I was intrigued by the title because I like country music and we have a sizeable collection of Raffi music. It is even better than I anticipated. As much as his songs are enjoyable, listening to Raffi's syrupy voice can get to be too much. This CD is the best of all possible worlds: Raffi songs sung by other musicians. Plus, there were wonderful selections I had not previously heard (five stars for the first number by Asleep at the Wheel).

4-0 out of 5 stars if you have kids......they'll love this!
I really LOVE Shake MY Sillies Out...Um, I mean...my NIECE really loves that song! LOL I love that country artists got together to do this kid's favorite! Raffi is awesome!

1-0 out of 5 stars lousy
This album is poor - it just shows that raffi is far better singing his songs than anyone else. Most of the other artists' efforts are really poor - and my kids agree. ... Read more

Album Description

Learning letter sounds has never been more fun! Children repeat letter sounds in a catchy rhythm and then repeat words that have that initial consonant sound. In the review section, children say the letter sound after being prompted. In the "Vowel Song," fun characters such as the Cat on the Mat, the Pig with a Wig and the Fox on a Box will help children remember each of the short vowel sounds. With the fifties twist, children will learn the long vowel sounds as they sing along to the boppin' music. All long and short vowels are taught as well as introducing "y" as a vowel. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Cassette
This is a good cassette. It has helped my daughter learn all the sounds of each letter before the age of 2. She did have some prior experience with my using flashcards and reading to her a lot though.

The one thing that would make it better is also including the combination sounds such as ch, th, ph, etc. And perhaps an intro to blending the sounds together to form words. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Mozart for Babies
Delightful for baby and all others. Light, airy, upbeat, inspiring, refreshing. Was easy for baby and I to listen to as we both endured the early rigors and beauty of nursing! Most who heard it, loved it. Have purchased this disk many times for grandparents(2x/home and car, my car and friends. My children smile and still are comforted (3yrs/1yr) when they hear this music, me too! Enjoy! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars may I suggest...
I think "O Mickey Where Art Thou" is a better choice. Better song selection, and excellent singing on most tunes. Check it out!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent CD
People who search for rare Disney music. So this is the one.

This CD is playing while you are waiting for the 'Tarzan-show' in Disneyland Paris.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good introduction to Bluegrass using Walt Disney songs
I was pleasantly suprised by this CD. It could have been unknown musicians playing standard studio licks, or worse, a silly stereotype like the Country Bears Jamboree. Instead, it is a well-planned, all instrumental album with lots of appeal to adults & kids alike ! All of the songs are from Walt Disney movies, both classic and recent films. The most toe-tapping tunes are 'Zip-a-dee-doo-dah'and 'You ain't never had a friend like me'. The rendition of 'When you wish upon a star' features poignant fiddle work. My only compliant about this album is the short length, only 12 songs. This is the perfect CD for the long drive to Walt Disney World, perhaps followed by "The Best of Country Sing the Best of Disney" (WD Records 60902-7). ... Read more
